I started diving early this year and went through rescue and EFR course and finished June 4th and that was by far the best course imo. I learned so much and became so much more comfortable being a dive buddy and a diver!
I just got my rescue diver certification last month and it was such an amazing experience! (Definitely the hardest course by far … as far as the knowledge and physical fitness required but still so much fun!) I’ve been diving for 10+ years and I wish I had gotten it sooner!
I almost agree😁!! Doing my Dive Master now which I find a slight bit more stress full..But Rescue Diver was by far the most exiting and rewarding course!!
welcome back. it is nice seeing your smiling face talking about diving again. rescue for me was mostly physically difficult, (i was one of the smallest people with one of the biggest for my buddy). i did have a bit of advantage with the other aspects being an emt prior to taking the class.
I have taught a few emts and felt quite... out my depth my thr first aid stuff. It's always amazing to have people from all walks of life coming and sharing their knowledge though!
Nice to see you again OP, I hope you've been well. Scuba RUclips is small and we can't afford to lose any of our content providers. Good luck in your new career ☺
The rescue diver course was the most physically demanding course I thinking of taking it again in a couple of years to keep my skills current. The mouth to mouth while swimming was a game changer for me to appreciate what it takes
I did mine in Scotland 10 years ago. Great course! Did my deep speciality aswell that weekend. 😂 It was cold ❄ 🥶 and we all kept getting stung by Lion's Mane Jellyfish, there were loads of them! The instructors, scottish waters and jellyfish definitely put us through our paces but the whole group passed!
Agreed! The hardest and the most important one. I did it with SSI and have my MD now, would absolutely recommend doing asap to be prepared when things go wrong or to prevent dangerous situations!
Thank you guys for the patience to await this new video!! I finally made it and got over that anxiety of not producing content for so long. Unfortunately between my settings, weather, camera and microphone this is not the BEST quality video, but I figured its better to have something right? Let me know your thoughts, what was the ahrdest padi scuba diving course you have done?
I have missed your equally educational and catchy videos, you are a good teacher😊 And happy for you, that you returned. In 1h I will drive to Netherlands to collect two D910V, and guess who helped with the decision towards these lights 😉
Glad your back!! Planning on getting my rescue course next year!... then after that Dive Master!! Dive accident video would be interesting to watch..... good luck on your journey being a School teacher! Keep diving!!😁👌
Hi! On my advanced adventure course test day, I struggled with using the compass . It was at night and I was supposed to get from shore to an island just by compass navigation but every few kicks the magnetic card would rotate 40, 50 degrees messing up everything and I just couldn't get it back to the right bearings. I adjusted my swimming direction and it didn't work. Funny that earlier that same day, when I was practicing, it was another destination, the magnetic card rotated a litte bit but I was able to correct it and get to the destination.
I’ve only just see this video somehow! I’ve follows you since your VDK days. And I have to agree the rescue course is possibly the most difficult course and the most rewarding course you can do. As a DiveMaster that’s assisted on multiple courses this year it’s truly an amazing course to take. Physically I was exhausted after my rescue course, i thought 6 years of both beach & pool lifeguarding would help me. But it’s a completely different kind of fitness that you have to have, the CPR & First aid where fine, but the general cardiovascular fitness is different to any other sport that I’ve done compared with diving. A great video Katt! One that I could see myself sharing with students with permission of yourself & with my LDS
I am a certified stress and rescue diver. I was a hard course. At one point I became the stressed and anxious diver. But, I stopped, thought about my situation and found the solution why. Since that course I am been a much better diver and dive buddy.
Over the course of next 3 days we are gonna do drift diving navigation nitrox wreck diving and night diving anything thing i might need to look out for?
Logging dives is an important step for sure. I would recommend doing the rescue soon though, makes you a much better dive buddy and concious of the surroundings :)
You don't need a lot of dives to take the rescue diver course. In fact, the rescue diver course may do more to help get you more comfortable diving than logging dives. I'd recommend taking it sooner than later.
I didn't feel that rescue was that hard, well except for when they tried to drown me while I was the victim, it was physically demanding but not really hard. But I took it very late in the typical diver progression since I was already a tech diver, I just wanted to support my local shop and see what the fuss was about. The only PADI course that I felt accomplished at the end of it was cavern. I took it as a single tank safety course completely separate from my cave journey. But it was the first time that I had clear objective performance standards that I had to meet.
what do I need for scuba diving do I need to try scuba gear like wetsuit and dive gloves and dive hood and dive boots and dive fins dive mask and scuba tank and bcd and regulator to breath from and breath underwater with scuba regulator
rescue diver course was a fun and challenging course, which i took on the island of cozumel….im now about to start my dive master course in all places Las Vegas nevada….10:05 i think its funny you let not having your drivers license stop you from driving….like for real, of course not!
@@OceanPancake still doing it. Kind of taking the slow route. Very busy with work 12-16 hour days so….something has to give. Thanks. Soon I will own the title

Yes! It completely changes your perspective of diving I think. Makes you way more aware and concious of potential problems

Holy cow, welcome back! I've been listening to Ocean Pancake on my runs!
Really?! Any favourite episodes?
@@OceanPancake Laura in Waterland #2, Mark Parry also!
I am a newly certified rescue diver. I definitely learned the most through that course. Love the panic diver scenario, it was a lot of fun!

So glad you're back! 🥳

If you go on to be an instructor you'll need that skill well tuned, it's part of the IDC and IE exams. And the IE is done in the ocean, so have fun.
Welcome back! I’m in my DM course now. Hope you get back to the PADI Pro side
oh amazing! Congratulations!

sheeeeee baaaackkkkkkk
I made itttt
Did my Rescue in cold water, drysuit, more lead weight, at altitude in the Rocky Mountains at altitude.
Master Diver was my favorite NAUI and that's my last one.
What did that one entail with NAUI?
A lot of theory, practical stuff was the same as Advanced, dive tables. It was not east, bring a calculator might be needed for the formulas
Over the course of next 3 days we are gonna do drift diving navigation nitrox wreck diving and night diving anything thing i might need to look out for?
Have you checked out my other videos about the advanced course?
We've missed you Katt. Starting scuba diving soon at 37 😅
Yes! It's never too late to get underwater and explore the marine world
Hey I'm 37 and I just started too 😅
If you were able to ask Linnea Mills, I bet she would say the dry suit, cold water, high altitude course, but alas, she's unavailable for comment.
I hope get my rescue diver course in the next couple of years but right now I would be rather logging dives.

It really depends on the kind of climate you will be diving in. Check out my whole playlist about dive eqiupment.

I get motion sickness damn nearly every time I dive… Do you have any recommendations??
I always take sea sickness medication. Kwells or travel calm. I am always sick on the boat. Give those a try!
Try to look at one single none moving object for couple seconds, might help
Personally I’ve found the IDC hardest
