All you said was basically ‘it would provide an unbiased source for conflicts and better for the markets’. So, what is the point of making the video?
I would imagine keeping the KBA around is just a politics thing at this point. Satellite imagery of Israel being low quality isn't a massive problem for most people, so there isn't really any demand to get rid of it. Thank you for the video, as someone who lives in Israel I had no idea it was a thing, I just have a few points I wanna share. Just because people have used public low-res maps to attack Israel doesn't mean the KBA didn't help, we can't know how many attacks it prevented or disrupted, since we can't compare it to anything. It does sound like the KBA is outdated, but you can't say it was completely useless. As some people already said in the comments, the KBA probably still exists as a way for the US to show their support for Israel, getting rid of it might seem like they don't care for Israel's security anymore and it can start conflict, and since it doesn't really affect things anyways then there's no rush to get rid of it.
why do you palestinians think that everything that has to do with israel is connected to u, unlike you we arent devoted into the destruction of our enemies
And since the pictures are blurred after they are taken, you can be *certain* that the people that have an interest in Israel have their ways and means of obtaining the original images. On the other hand, Hamas and Hisbollah are not on that list of people with intercontinental missiles, so they use the blurry imagery, but that doesnt matter to them as their rockets barely fly straight anyway.
ah yes, needless laws restricting stuff like that reminds of the fact that google street view isn't available in germany anymore. I remember playing around with that when it first came out, but you just can't use it anymore (no idea since when). Only weird spots where you can look around from elevated positions
first of all amazing video, didn't know all that stuff although I'm Israeli. when I was in the army I got to use the military version of google maps, and it's has a muchhhhhhhhhhh better resolution, although the resolution changes from area to area, like Gaza's resolution was marginally better the Cairo's, although there were huge swaths of Iranian desert with the highest resolution.
And then the IDF put the keriya right in the middle of Tel Aviv, across the road from the shalom train station... Mind you they also built the pit (ah Bor) upside down
That can only possibly do so much. A pixelated image holds less information than an unpixelated one, and information can't come from nowhere. For text, faces, or anything else following a somewhat predictable pattern, it's possible, but for something like a map of an air force base there's just too many possibilities for what's in some region. E.g., even if it can determine there's probably a long, light colored rectangle below some pixels, there's unlikely to be enough additional information to determine if it has the features of a runway, or a strip of grass, or a building, or a line of trucks, etc.
Love the Israeli idea of just blurring sensative areas, then also put a major sensative army base in the middle of the biggest metropolitan area, literally across the road from a major train station, massive mall and three very tall office buildings, also the major hospital for the area is just to the north of it, same as the biggest public library, the opera, to the south across the road is a massive tourist area... Totally secretive yes...
You're an idiot if you don't understand the logic behind it. The terrorists already know, way ahead of time where are military bases located, blurring sensitive areas is a must.
Israel is insecure they know the terrible stuff they do in Palestine so of course they'll blur it. Like a criminal trying to erase his criminal record.
as a israeli I want to say: 1. I can translate for you 2. nice video, but you have one mistake, we are smart. we dont blur only where we dont want, we blur another areas near them so its still help
Honestly it's really weird to know that my country is blurred most of the world I did not know that until I watch this video and although it's random and means nothing pretty much I haven't finished the video yet so maybe I'm wrong but it's still announced me to know that from all of the world we have terrible quality show

This is another one of those things that is only Stated to be about safety when in fact it’s about something else. This is just one aspect of how the US continuously runs diplomatic cover for the illegal expansion of Israeli territory, and the consequences of Israeli airstrikes.

tl;dr: Israel doesn't censor it, even puts out highres images on its own website. It's a strange US regulation preventing US companies to do it.
8:57 so who is actually going to profit from changing this? You never really said, it just seemed more like complaining for complaining sake.
All you said was basically ‘it would provide an unbiased source for conflicts and better for the markets’. Edit: You also included “research”, but you didn’t really list any examples of research needing to be done by high detailed satellite.
If anything, keeping it at the level of the rest of the world keeps it unbiased and balanced. And if what you said was true, that their are higher detailed photos laying around/given out by the Israeli government, wouldn’t that count towards “the competition” aspect?

I would imagine keeping the KBA around is just a politics thing at this point. Satellite imagery of Israel being low quality isn't a massive problem for most people, so there isn't really any demand to get rid of it. At the same time, trying to get rid of it would just lead to opposition run media publishing headlines like "[insert party] are creating maps which threaten Israel's national security", so it's not worth it from their perspective.

I just stumbled across this video again, and I found it quite informative! I find it quite ironic that my country (I am an American) would try to blur satellite imagery of Israel... when even _they_ don't! Thanks for the video!
Imo, you saying the KBA hasnt really helped cause you havent seen any reports of it helping doesnt really mean anything. The entire point is that if it works perfectly, then you will never know it did anything to begin with, since its preventing potential attacks and those attacks cant happen if they are stopped
Good point. Still, doing a thing like this without ever publicizing any actual proof that it works is problematic at best.

i dont get it, what does KBA mean?
Thanks for not getting anti or pro palestine. This is just a educational video without any supporting or other stuff! 👍

Hello Tapahapa. I live in Israel and know Hebrew. Would you like me to send you a translaition of the rules? (not all of them, the important ones).
And since the pictures are blurred after they are taken, you can be *certain* that the people that have an interest in Israel have their ways and means of obtaining the original images.
On the other hand, Hamas and Hisbollah are not on that list of people with intercontinental missiles, so they use the blurry imagery, but that doesnt matter to them as their rockets barely fly straight anyway.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, *YOU IN!*
edit: grammar
That can only possibly do so much. A pixelated image holds less information than an unpixelated one, and information can't come from nowhere.
For text, faces, or anything else following a somewhat predictable pattern, it's possible, but for something like a map of an air force base there's just too many possibilities for what's in some region. E.g., even if it can determine there's probably a long, light colored rectangle below some pixels, there's unlikely to be enough additional information to determine if it has the features of a runway, or a strip of grass, or a building, or a line of trucks, etc.
"often the most currupt of people hide the most"
Love the Israeli idea of just blurring sensative areas, then also put a major sensative army base in the middle of the biggest metropolitan area, literally across the road from a major train station, massive mall and three very tall office buildings, also the major hospital for the area is just to the north of it, same as the biggest public library, the opera, to the south across the road is a massive tourist area...
Totally secretive yes...
well the enemy will have a harder time to pinpoint the very important stuff instead of bombing the whole censored area
You're an idiot if you don't understand the logic behind it. The terrorists already know, way ahead of time where are military bases located, blurring sensitive areas is a must.
