We have Dreame L20 Ultra, best robot vacuum we have had by a significant margin in my opinion. We had the Ecovac Deebot self emptying vacuum bag version a couple of years ago, but sent it back after it continued losing it's map. I am also impressed Dreame keeps improving our Dreame with the software updates. You still need to do some maintenance (check nothing stopping vacuum emptying it's "bag", clean the cleaning base etc). We have bamboo flooring (mat) you can't see any mopping streaks, our carpet is thick and vacuums well ... impressed.
Nice review. Regarding the price, it is already down to 1390€ + I got a big extra kit of supplies with it. Priced I think 85€ if bought separately. Near 2000 no way worth it but now if you have the means it is starting to make sense.
The plumb kit allows deeper self-cleaning at the base station as it has access to more water. I got the plumb kit for the x40. don't know if the upgraded l20 would give you the same deep cleaning option.
Just got my second l20, unfortunately this one giving me constant laser distant erorr, no matter I did I could not resolve it. Hopefully will able to return it, the customer service in my county is almost non existent , this Chinese brands really dont get it
Looking to buy an automated floor cleaner for my mom. I am totally new to this tech, and I was wondering how long these things take to clean? Is it feasible for this to clean all of the floors during the night while she is sleeping? It's approx. 2000 square feet. Any help is appreciated as I have no frame of reference. Thanks!
Each one is a little different, but the biggest factor is your settings. They all have options for quick cleaning and intense cleaning, and some have additional settings. You can also turn off the mopping feature altogether or vacuum and mop at the same time. Flagships like these two will lift their mopping pads when they detect carpet to avoid getting them wet. You can also choose to mop first and then vacuum, which will take more time since it avoids carpets initially and then has to go back to them after mopping. There are so many settings! In general, though, I would say most higher-end smart vacuums can easily clean 2000 square feet overnight on quiet mode. Some might need to return to the base station to charge for an hour, but they will go right back out. Just understand it has to be one level. I hope that help. If you have any other questions, let me know. I'll try to help when I can.
I love tech. I don’t mind spending money on my SmartHome (I’ve got over 240 devices at last count). But these Robovacs have pricing that is just crazy. We pay our maid $100 per week and she spends 3-4 hours cleaning, including tending to the floors every time. The more expensive robovac pays for nearly 1/2 year of her cleaning our house which is WAY more than cleaning the floors. Moreover, their next version will be out in a year, have 2 more options and cost $1700 more! Right now, I’m good with my manual option.
So even if your maid works a quarter of that total time a week cleaning floors. Thats is 45 minutes to an hour a week. That is $25 dollars a week. If you buy a robot for $1700 you will break even after 68 weeks. So after 1 year and 3 months you earned the money back regarding labor. Keep in mind that the robot can do this every day if you please. Also, you can still keep running around naked without a maid looking at you :P.
Nobody can answer that. Of course, Dreame will recommend their own soap because they want the sale. What I meant is that the container is now designed to allow adding soap instead of requiring you to purchase their proprietary bottles. You take your own risk with the products you add to your system. There are thousands of soaps available, so be smart and responsible with your choice!
My question is about the cleaning solution, are you forced to buy only DREAME cleaning solution for the L20 and for how long does this cleaning solution lasts???
There is one thing to consider, and that is the soap getting slippery for the wheels. Be aware of that. Any soap for the floors will do, except when it requires after rinsing or corrosive to metals.
L20ultra is only 8 months old and is 630 dollars with promo code. X40 will be half price next year. It usually takes a year for the glitches to work themselves out. L20 ultra is the smarter buy. Just add soap into the clean water tank. Premix!
Reviewers on RUclips say the X40 is the best robot vacuum. But the reviews on Amazon say otherwise. It has the lowest rating scores of all the Dreame robotvacuums. The X30 has better reviews than the X40.
The X40 is better to get dirt in the corners cause of the brush arm but not worth the extra $$$$$ between the two models so you have to factor that into the reviews.
@@ModernDayTech I actually want the X40 Pro Ultra with the lidar that raises and lowers. It's available on AliExpress but the problem is if I get it Dreame won't honor the warranty if it ships to America. I briefly owned the L20 and initially I hated it. But after the firmware update I ended up loving it. I returned it to Amazon because a Dreame rep said it would be available "soon". Four months later soon hasn't come so I went with the X30. The L20 was just too bulky for my taste.
6:04 does the extending mop "ride up" these small skirting boards? i've seen it at a friends place where his L20 cant handle small boards like yours and it rides up and lifts the mop off the ground. i have a couple of those at my place, this keeps me from ordering a X40
I have 3-4 vacs that all have the mop extend (not roboswing, which is a different feature) and they all potentially can ride up on the shoe molding. Its doesnt happen often and it does not damage.
So its real comes down to what features you are looking for and what your willing to spend. The newest vacuums will always have a premium price so if your looking for the Extendable and Liftable Side Brush then you'll have to pay the price for that premium feature. No other vacuum that I've test can clean corners like the X40, but is a little motorized arm worth that price, no, but having clean corners is. So if youre willing to clean the corners yourself, then getting one of the older models is better and worth the price. Firgure out what you have to have "feature wise" and that will guide you the best.

Too me the x40 is like having a maid at touch. But I still love the L20 and I even own the L20. So no need for upgrade.

I got the X40 Ultra on Friday & I think it's awesome. You get what you pay for.
It's pretty awesome. I love it!. Thanks for watching!
Good video. For future reference and there is a max plus vacuum mode under the vac only customer setting. Would’ve been good to see that!
@@DawnJiang-kd6me none of those vacuums are featured in this video lol

I got the L20 ultra for 500€ from Amazon
I'm happy I saw this offer today and for this price it beats the x40 with the few extras in my opinion.
Which amazon?
How does the Dreame cleans dry stains? Is there any difference between the 40 and 20?
The plumb kit allows deeper self-cleaning at the base station as it has access to more water. I got the plumb kit for the x40. don't know if the upgraded l20 would give you the same deep cleaning option.
The L20 also has plumb kit avaliable. They are hard to find in the USA but I've seen them.
Just got my second l20, unfortunately this one giving me constant laser distant erorr, no matter I did I could not resolve it. Hopefully will able to return it, the customer service in my county is almost non existent , this Chinese brands really dont get it
Thank you for the informative review.
Glad it was helpful!
There's another difference: the X40 Ultra cleans the mops with hot water, up to 70 C°
So 5C difference
No sorry, the L20 doesn't use hot water at all. That would be the L30 and X30, now the X40 @@downundermaker
Woah I love the flag on the wall ! Is it a video on a TV ?

You can buy new floors for that price.
I have the l20, and it does an excellent job. Clean is clean.
Are you sure you can use your own soap in X40? No problem at all? It wont damage it ?

@ModernDayTech , but did you notice any issues using non-dreame soap?

In my country (Poland) currently the price difference is 370€, which is ~400USD. For this price difference would you get the X40? I cant decide 😅

You can easily refill the cartridge as well.
Dreame 20 Ultra or Eureka J12 Ultra?
I never tested the Eureka J12 Ultra.
either way you'd have to buy dust bags, right?
yes, the bases uses dust bags.
