Couldn't ask for a more BEAUTIFUL place to video trains w the mountains in the background. Those trains definitely need DPU's to help move these massive loads especially going uphill. Nice catch PNWR!
Thanks you richard. Yes indeed, that's why I love living in this area. The DPUs are definitely needed, not only to get them over the hill but for braking on the way down too. Thanks for watching.
You're welcome WILLY. Actually they dimmed the lights for the oil train that was sitting in the siding. That's common practice with BNSF to dim their lights when meeting oncoming trains even if the other train is stopped. Thanks for watching my friend.
My goodness some excellent scenery and recording:) How bout the weather we been having?! Wonder if you can stage by the falls and get some action around 1330.9 where you can also swing around and pan the falls😉
Thanks Skip, I appreciate it. I have posted videos taken at the east end of the Kootenai Falls siding which is MP 1330.3. Unfortunately there's no way to be able to video the trains and then pan to the falls as there just too many trees blocking the view. The river can't be seen even when standing on the pedestrian bridge that goes over the tracks.
I do see them occasionally, standing outside and watching the passing train and on the scanner I hear the occasional "roll-by" but for the most part it seems pretty rare. Thanks for watching.
@@thelincolnrailfan No, a Q is "intermodal guaranteed service". They consist of domestic containers, ie JB Hunt, Schneider, Swift etc. and some have tofc but not always. They are a step down in priority from a Z and they don't have UPS or Fedex trailers and, at least up here, they aren't allotted as much power as the Zs. Great shots as always. I used to live north of Vancouver BC, had similar views of the mountains. Thank you.
Thanks Edward, yea the Rocky Mountains are beautiful in the U.S. and in Canada. Thanks for watching.

Awesome trains thanks my friend. The double freight train that dimmed its lights for you looked majestic in size and height!!

What’s the grade here?
It's a 1% grade. Thanks for watching.
Do you ever see any crew members doing “roll-bys” anymore?
I do see them occasionally, standing outside and watching the passing train and on the scanner I hear the occasional "roll-by" but for the most part it seems pretty rare. Thanks for watching.
Also I didn’t see a Q train.....
The only stack train in the video.
I thought Q trains were part intermodal, and part other like manifest
