Right like shit when i got the catnip i was ready to take on the trials and found out bout the change and i bout threw my controller and said ya fuck this.
I think what really sucks the most about this battle is that even after such a long and torturously difficult fight, you don’t even earn a special trophy/achievement. So really, The only reason to fight this guy is If you want 100% completion
Lightning Shy Spamming « cross » with 2 dark Night + alchemist isn’t that hard 😂😂 i cleaned it up on the first journey without Okidor ( dunno if it’s that in english, thing which does 9999 when low life) 😂
This fight took me a while since I ignored leveling and sorta regretted it lmao If anyone’s having trouble, this is what worked for me: Having protect and reflect up at all times came in clutch for me so if you have a bunch of Star and light curtains like I did (or accessories that grant auto reflect and auto protect I forgot the names.). I also used 2 Maxed Dark Knights and one maxed Alchemist with the occasional shift to a psychic. The garment grid used was the abominable gg with psychic in the center, alchemist in the left, white mage on right and a filler on top (I used thief). I used the Star and light curtains right off the bat(**if you have auto protect and reflect, you may ignore this part**)and completed the grids cycles to activate Ribbon for everyone (since I had no ribbon and it’s my first play through of the game.). Along the way, I stopped at Psychic to use express which will massively boost my evasion which will allow us to dodge almost every single physical attack the boss throws. After I’ve done that, I settled into two dark knights and one alchemist. The dark knights will use Darkness (Darkness damage is determined by the strength stat so if you want to apply some accessories that boost that you should, but in order for this strat to work, you must have protect and reflect at all times) for big damage. The alchemist will constantly be spamming stashed mega potions. You can occasionally use some of your powerful mixes (the one that I used was white hole: Holy water+any gem). But stay on your toes to keep everyone healed. •The boss will attempt to use bio but your reflect will cause it to bounce back. He is immune so it won’t matter. •The bosses arms will attempt to cast -aga level magic. The reflect will cause them to bounce back for some damage against them. •The left arm will occasionally punch you. Since you’ve used express to boost evasion, you should rarely ever get hit. •The left arm will also use Bloody breath or something to inflict a multitude of status ailments. You will be protected because of the Garment grid granting you Ribbon. •The boss will attempt to use an attack (I forgot the name) that will inflict heavy MP damage. This will hardly ever matter since I never used spells. I ignored this. •The boss will periodically use Demi. If your alchemist is on top of its healing, this will hardly matter. •The boss will sometimes use its most damaging attack, Perditions Flame. If your team had protect they should live. Heal afterwards. *The boss will also use dispel. If you have auto protect and reflect. Ignore this. If you don’t, IMMEDIATELY re apply those because if you are caught without reflect… •The boss will at times cast Flare. If you have reflect, it will bounce back and hit. If you are caught without reflect this attack can easily kill one of your characters. And it would be a pain to get back on your feet. (I am not sure if this is a thing or not but I don’t think the boss will use flare if you have reflect on everyone. I could be wrong) •The boss will use Curaga often. Ignore and continue hitting it with all you’ve got
I remember fighting this thing. It took so long to figure out the right dress sphere set to use. I ended up just using Yuna and Paine as Dark Knights for Darkness and just had Rikku as an alchemist spam mega potions.
If you want hastaga, you can use chocobo's feather. If you want reflect, you should use star curtain. Using items are faster than using magic because you have to wait for casting spell. It wastes your time, basically.
i figured that out yesterday when trying to find out a way to quicky cast reflect on my whole party and saw there was an item that did it easily, came in clutch during the chapter 2 labrynth where the bosses use magic
I legit grinded this battle over one hour..... It's one of my proudest gaming moments since my party was very underpowered and I played it basically the only possible way to beat it.

there was a time I encountered this monster at Episode 1 or Episode 2? (I think it was one of them, not sure tough) Then the first time I noticed how huge the monster was I thought "wow, is this a story boss? If it is it should be easy, if not he can kick my butt", unfortunatelly for me he killed me in just ONE hit (low EXP is the reason), then I thought "ok, you're not a boss, you're a superboss" but now that I see this video I notice he is not THAT hard as long as you're leveled enough, am I wrong?
Yeah he's a mid level enemy you're not supposed to kill in act 1. It's literally impossible.
1:37 cue the aeon boss music! It begins now!
Is Rikku just perma-stoned? Lol
This fight was so fucking annoying, mainly because i was unprepared when i first encountered him back in the day. So much damn HP, and so many attacks..took me like over an hour to beat him.
Easiest battle in the game, lol. Beat on first try. I was kind of disappointed. Rikku was my alchemist. Doing mega potions each turn. Paine and Yuna casting darkness. And I had the tetra equipped to Rikku so the elements they always casted actually healed her, which always kept her alive. Still a grind.
I cant beat him is there a way to corrupt him if yes how much gil?
her
Or use baralai and looming glacier him to 0 mp and it can't do anything anymore.
This boss was a pain in the ass. Its weak point is he doesn't have many hp
man, i wanted to play this game, but the chapter thing just was not for me , maybe i should try it again, who know 6 ;P
I noticed you're playing HD remaster, but you're able to do 9,999 Trigger Happy shots still. How is this possible when Catnip is nerfed in that version?
It is nerfed...but you are able to still trigger it just before the player is attacked. Just have to figure out what boss is gonna do the next attack on whom. :)
@@iCTsang oh, is that all there is to it? I thought CatNip in this version gives you automatic berserk - how are you able to still use moves?
@@jasond6267 It does give you berserk..but just before you command an attack on of the girls right when they are about to get hit and they are in crit HP. use Happy Trigger away it will work! Lol ;)
@@iCTsang ty for the explanation that makes sense :D
3:22 yuna scratching her butt xD
she emoted on em
i took two tries but the second time i took like 30 mins using dark knight for the head and psychic for the arms
Oh wait till you fight Trema. Oh wait, trema is easy too lol
Gotta stack dem Iron Duke
I got 2 iron dukes 1. From completion of via Infiniti and 2. From beating farplane cup 3 times
Nice set up, i defeated it with yuna special dressphere
Rikku is so fucking stylish. Her dagger look 😚👌
I am in chapter 5 and i am having 97% before going toward vegnagun. TAHUR is the only i have to get. I will learn to get to win in That game.
