I like like like the no sashing! I am rather isolated where I live. The first thing I do when I turn my PC on is check out what you have posted. Thank you for being just the way you are, Darlene. ♥
Just discovered your channel and working my way through the Crumb Quilt Adventure series, love this project. I have to say your directions are clear, understandable and you break it down to small understandable pieces. And you are such delight to watch. I haven't sewn anything since 2005 when I was diagnosed with bladder cancer -a direct result of smoking, my doctor ordered me to quit and I did. I cut out any activity where I smoked along with the activity, quilting, primitive wool and embroidery handwork even the habit of having a coffee after supper. But I am starting to really crave working with fabric, all of which is still packed up from our move 7 years ago. Don't even know if I have crumbs but if not I can make some. I'm thinking of adding freestyle embroidery with beading to the blocks would be quite interesting.
Hey Darlene I just love your crumb quilt, it is so beautiful, you have inspired me to make a crumb quilt, I have so many pieces of leftover material from when I used to make my daughter clothes, and I have always wanted to make a quilt but didn't know how to do it without having to cut everything so exact and now that I have found your channel and watched your crumb quilting I will be able to make quilt of my own, thanks so much for the inspiration.
Well fb is exploding!! Thank you for that. I too was like a lot of other peanuts ,ready to leave it. I am a quilter but I just LOVE your unconventional way of looking at Quilting. It's " sew " refreshing to me.Thank you,Darlene..🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.
As I was watching I was willing you start chain piecing the blocks together...it worked! Lol. I love it without the sashing; that's how I'm going to do mine. Very nice, Darlene.
Omg that looks beautiful. I can't wait to start piecing them together. I'm going to hang mine in my family room as a big picture. Yes I just use small nails you can't see them. I think they make Great Wall Hangings. I will make quite a few.🌺
It's so nice. I can see Skylar using it as she sits in the wheelchair! I am also a member of your new PG page. It amazes me the positive influence that one person can really have; especially one who is a self proclaimed people-fobe🤣.
you have made my world not so complicated...I have taken the task of making. blankets for 9 grand children. since u don't have any at this time... I have old clothes that work....thank you...love your style so much....signed stressed and complicated
Relatively new to your channel, one of your South African stats ;-) I have made dozens of quilts over the years NEVER s crumb quilt. You have truly inspired me! I won't be sashing mine. Xx
It's like a crazy quilt without topstitching. I love your spontaneity. You inspire busy women to do the thing they love knowing time is less important with your freestyle methods.
this was a real fun project and i do luv the squares all put together.. not sure how many sq i have a big stack... this is a great scrap buster and very therapuetic. - great project for new sewers to learn on and u r such a great teacher- thx- m
Hey there Darlene ... have to say, I wasn't crazy about a lot of the fabric crumbs throughout the block construction; but damn, it looks "great" once the blocks are assembled.
Darlene, instead of flannel...I made mine the same way you described, but I used fleece. It turned out great...thank you for the ideas...love your videos
Use a "starter scrap" between your sets and then you can snip them apart with ease. (I use short pieces of selvedge trimmings.) Wastes less thread and time. Plan to try this asap!! Thanks!!
Darlene, you are so REAL!! My pins have colored tips and I say that same thing, Not losing sleep over them all mixed up on the pincushion...then it bothers me to NO END! So, I have to put them all colors together. Ugh! So glad you stress over things like I do...and I'm sorry you stress over those raised seams you get caught under the presser foot, I know how it feels ((hugs)) misery loves company, no??
Love the series and you. I started watching and HAD to start sewing yesterday, It's frigging addictive! ""I can't plan in advance" lol, you make me laugh, but i do plan to watch all your other videos too. I just love you,, oh , I said that already.
That is interesting to see i was wondering what that would look like without sashing but i think i like a sashing now lol that is pretty i have 25 6 inch squares down doing a lap quilt
That's awesome! I love ❤️ it, that's how some of my came out and you answer all my questions . Thank you!😀😃 I do remember the exercise, when they be counting , can't remember who it was, tho.
I love it, too! I admit I was expecting a rabbit at the end of that string of blocks. Hahahah. I gotta go hem some pants. (Wanna make quilt blocks--gotta make pants--..sigh..)
This looks fantastic! It doesn't make you a hoarder if you want to keep it, you put a lot of work into it and maybe you can still use it and put it somewhere as a throw or something. Or maybe that's just the hoarder in me speaking, lol. But no, if you don't make 100 of them and keep them all on your living room floor, it doesn't make you a hoarder (I do know a little bit about this, lol). Other things probably make you one, lol, but you have a big house, I struggle a lot in my small one room apartment. You could even keep it and maybe give it to Skylar for her room or give it to her when she gets her own apartment in a couple of years. Then it stays in the family. Aaaaaaand it think it would look really great with lace. And please don't take any of the things I said as me telling you what you should do, it's just thoughts I had and with not being a full blown hoarder, but having hoarder tendencies, I understand the feeling of "I want to keep it but maybe I shouldn't".
The quilt is coming out great! I was wondering on one I'm making if I wanted to add sashing or not. Like this... but sashing makes a totally different effect. Still undecided. Blah.......
Darlene, Great series, as a guy I like that I can be a little more relaxed sewing stuff together. The manikin behind you freaked me out for a second. LOL
I really enjoy your videos... make me smile! Just sent request for your FB Peanut Gallery. Looking forward to watching next Crumb Quilt Adventure video. =0)
I can make pieces look very tiny in the end but I rarely ever start with tiny pieces of fabric. Is that what you mean? Cut tiny pieces and sew those together? That would drive me crazy! lol

Вы МОЛОДЕЦ!!!
Hi Darlene,
What brand and model of your sewing machine that you are using for this video.
It sound so smooth ,quiet and super fast too.Thank you.
See my description box for the answer.
every time I watch this I do shout out CHAIN PIECE CHAIN PIECE...LOL😜
Yes I was LOL
You make me laugh
Why don’t you see how tiny you can get by trimming etc to get some VERY crumb-like minature size crumbs. Just a challenge for you!
I can make pieces look very tiny in the end but I rarely ever start with tiny pieces of fabric. Is that what you mean? Cut tiny pieces and sew those together? That would drive me crazy! lol
