    Hello peanut gallery! I guess I was too tired to sew. It was late and my brain was fried. I made so many mistakes and I had to cut a big chunk of video near the end because I could not edit in a way that made any sense. That's why the video ends so abruptly. I won't sew this tired again! LOL I hope you still enjoy the chat. Thank you for watching! xoxo Here is the playlist for this series: tinyurl.com/y9zcg63f

    I'm sitting on my laptop with headfones on and my family are saying "What the hell are you laughing and smiling about?" My answer "You wouldn't understand, it's a Darlene thing". LOL. Keep making me laugh as you teach me. Love this series.

    I am a new subscriber but an old quilter. I have made hundreds. But never a crumb quilt which I plan to start soon, thanks to you. You seem like a natural born teacher. Looking forward to watching more in this series. I have been enjoying your videos on the sidelines for a little while. Good to "meet" you.

    OMGoodness you're a hoot! I just found you a week ago and I'm loving this series! Being a quilter I've always wondered about crumb quilts and agonized over the thought of all those little pieces! You've made it so much easier! Love it and you too!

    I just adore you! You are so "real". My significant other doesn't know if he should love or hate you because you have inspired me to clean out my stash. I have found so many orphaned blocks and leftovers that will work as crumbs. I have tubs sitting everywhere (including in his recliner)! Has inspired me to re-evaluate things I have been saving. thank you so much!

    You are so addicting to watch. I love your excitement on making the squares. Can't wait to see what you decide with finishing this quilt. Would really love to see no sashing in the future if you don't decide to use it here. I stumbled upon your channel and now I can't get enough of your videos.

    Darlene you mentioned in a previous video that you can't wait to see what those in the Peanut Gallery make with your fabric. The crumb quilt I am currently making along with you also has your fabrics, is there a particular email you would like us to use to send you pics of the projects we made under your tutelage?

    I'm trying to make 8 1/2 x 8 1/2. When I get to about 12 or so crumbs together and it's not quite large enough, that's where I get stuck.
    I have photos but I can't post them here

      Okay I watched the video over. At around marker point 9, you show how you hate to lose those little tiny squares. So do I. That's why I'm having such a hard time because I don't like to cut those off. So thank you for showing the solution. And for giving permission! LOL

    Do you wash your fabrics before you begin this process?

    • @darlene.michaud
      @darlene.michaud  7 лет назад

      I rarely wash my fabrics. I wash if I'm making shirts for myself as I want the fabric pre-shrunk. You can pre-wash if you want. You don't have to if you don't want. Some insist you do. Some insist you don't. You do what you want because there are no rules.

      I have no clue. I need to check some out. I use a very old version of printmaster for my digital quilt shows but that is not quilting software. If I find something I'll be sure to mention it in my videos.

    It just occured to me, very, very small pieces of yarn/cloth or string could be recycled by putting in a small bin in the yard for the birds to start making their nests for winter.

    • @darlene.michaud
      @darlene.michaud  6 лет назад

      @@kayking3488 did you read her comment? She stated very, very SMALL PIECES or yarn/cloth. That does not sound like stuff that would bet wrapped around bird's feet. I mean really, fucking grass can get wrapped around bird's feet. Please don't come to my channel and tell people what not to do. It's quite insulting.

      Charlie, I'm very curious as to what makes you go to a complete stranger's channel and say fuk u. I sincerely want to know. What is the thought process behind that? Does it feel good to just reach out to strangers and do that? I see you have a channel too. Do you think a content creator is going to have any success if they contact other creators with a fuck you for no reason at all? I say fuck you to people, but in reply only. If someone comes here and messes with me, they get it back. But never in my life would I ever just wander over to someone's channel and say fuck you. Please explain what you get out of that.
