    Clive Woodward ran a personal campaign against Eddie to get his mates on the RFU board to fire Eddie and get Bothwick promoted to England coach. I hope he’s happy.

      Well he may or may not have run a personal campaign against Eddie Jones that's debatable, however the idea that he had any influence on Jones sacking is ignorant nonsense, Jones bears most if not all the responsibility for his sacking, firstly the results over the last 2 years weren't remotely good enough and the contempt that he showed to anyone else who questioned his selections and tactics was embarrassing to witness and annoyed many in the game. You can be strong in what you believe without being disrespectful to former players pundits and journalists alike .

    I think under Eddie there will be tough times for some players who might not be up for what is to come. The alternative for the players who are not up to the challenge will be to play elsewhere. The Wallabies over several years generally have improved as individuals but as a team have had too many defeats from the jaws of victory.

    A coach is only as good as his players, EJ is way overrated. His good but so are many other coaches out there like Ireland and France coach? Maybe EJ can still get a World cup. I will be very surprised though...

    • @alanb9443
      @alanb9443 Год назад +11

      Yer but it’s the fact that Eddie has had success with many different teams and different players. The Irish coach farrel famously was part of the coaching team which lead England to the 2015 World Cup failure, galthie oversaw one of the worst toulon teams in history… every coach has success and failure no matter how good. Eddie took Australia , South Africa and England to World Cup finals, got japanes first ever win over SA, won super rugby with the Brumbies. Eddie has had enough success over 20 years with many different teams and different player qualities. He’s rightly rated as a very good coach.

      Eddie Jones has the highest percentage winning ratio of any England coach. The fact that England did not win the world cup in 2019 is because they were beaten by a superior team and players. John Mitchell warned the England team but the players were just not up to the task. Unfortunately the same happened in 2007 under a British coach Brian Ashton for that matter and England were beaten soundly 'twice' by the same team. Australia always do well at the RWC and I will not be surprised if they advance to the semi finals in Paris under Eddie Jones.
