I know a lot of people don't enjoy Eddie's approach, but I find it so refreshing for someone who isn't overly PR/media trained trotting out the same old answers all the time. Don't know if I'd call myself a big fan, but definitely appreciate the bloke
Not media trained? He knows what he’s doing mate. Managing his own PR, deflecting all attention away from the players, and dealing with media generally are arguably his biggest strengths.
As a South African, I've loved this guy's attitude and banter he had with Jake White in 2004 onwards. Him being part of the springbok coaching staff at the 2007 world cup helped us immensely. Butch James never attempted any no arms tackles during the entire tournament. Thanks Eddie, never change.
@@JaredDorfmanclearly you don’t know anything about this guy he will be remembered regardless of what for all of his comebacks are funny compare him to any other coach and he is A comedian
I am Japanese so I always have respect and appreciation for Eddie. Until 2015 World Cup, Japan only won 1 game in World Cup and we used to be the country to gift win to the opponent. Eddie changed Japanese Rugby history.
The reality is that the RFU should have sacked him much earlier. They were too enamoured with him and failed to appreciate that he had gone off the boil (even though the rugby media were rightly criticising Eddie’s insistence on picking based on how compliant players were and not on their actual form).
All the critics of Jones especially in the media will miss him when he's left the game, whatever you think about his comments at least he has something to say unlike so many in the game today who just give platitudes.
So he is a bit quirky and original. Brilliant, need more people like that in leadership. In the country i reside in, (Norway), they call them "loose cannons". Patton was by all accounts, someone who couldnt help but behave like that, and the military leadership despised him. Apparantly the enemy knew to fear him...
@@dude9318 He is a very good coach. A bit of a hypocrite, but some of his lines are hilarious. Someone here has mentioned it already but the '3 of the biggest academies in the world" jibe about NZ was hilarious.
It's too bad this guy can't take criticism. He's obviously a great coach and he can be quite funny and entertaining when everything goes his way but when he makes mistakes and people point it out he gets so unsympathetic and rude with the press. Big big lack of humility this Eddie Jones character.

I’m English and he has been hounded out by boring media and yes boys. Woodward giving his opinion, a man who has done nothing since World Cup ‘03. Eddie Jones deserves to get another international job, come back and smash England and stick two fingers up at the media and prawn sandwich brigade at twickenham
Clive, I think you're onto something. You've just received your first wish for Eddie getting another international job, and more than likely your second wish will happen when the Wallabies win the Webb Ellis Trophy in October.

Little bit ironic coming from an Australian but still funny

Stuart Lancaster: “ Everyone hates England, we should try to be nicer.”
Eddie Jones: “Everyone hates England, let’s give them a reason to.”
This is a man who has his own PR advisor so respectfully that's just a load of BS. He was obsessed with being an enemy of the media.
The Mourinho of Rugby, takes the pressure off his players and puts it onto himself.
Mourinho delivered.

He is box office quality to be fair. We'll miss him when he's gone
First clip aged perfectly XD
5:28 was genuinely a beautiful moment
Never saw this side to him, what a lad
That Japanese player was emotionally crushed when Eddie said about him and his team. He knew Eddie was pissed, and he didn't know how to react. Lol.
Miss this bloke as England coach. He was right that when he gets sacked the press will jump on the next bloke.

You can see why Clive Woodward and Eddie had such a frosty relationship. They pretty much work the same way, with the press-conference barbs.
Really, we've just had 7 bloody years of him. 😭

Back after the sacking. Terrible decision
Strangely, I'm going to miss him. Timing not great and not enough time for new regime to get up to steam for WC23.
