  • Whilst meeting with Jonathan Sigmon from Alan Flusser, during their trunk show in Houston, Kirby Allison took the opportunity to take a much closer look at one of most noticed and interesting garments that was discussed in the New York, their slack jacket. This is only custom made, due to the nature of the material used, with a number of options for material. This jacket is one of the softest jackets ever made, accroding to Alan Flusser. He even admits to using it as a pillow when traveling, knowing the construction is so good that it will return perfectly to being a jacket when he unrolls it.
Author of the menswear classic, "Dressing The Man," Alan Flusser has educated countless men on the rules of classic menswear. We discuss the made-to-measure program as well as go through a personal consultation. At the end, you get to see Alan Flusser's personal recommendations to Kirby for a new outfit!

Hey Kirby, I would really love a long format video displaying as many styles, brands, types of fabric to the camera close up. I like your suit selection videos but usually cant see the fabrics very well. Some other channels have some videos where they just go through the sample books in detail and it's really nice to experience all the different fabrics where you can really see the texture and shine. Maybe the tailor giving his opinion on the different fabric houses, and the durability/seasonality of the different colors/patterns etc. I think we have had much of that in small samples in many of your other videos, just thinking it would be nice to really focus on that in a single filming session.

Wow 😮 the first jacket :this is definitely something for me. Working in a business casual environment. For me, comfort is paramount. I am pretty broad over the shoulders and I struggle to find-of-the rack blazers / jackets that gives me enough movement with the arms. I also have very high body heat, this looks like it is quite cool and ventilated. Wonder wich fabrics it comes in. Great look and design, love that it doesn't wrinkle. So usable for work.

I love that you experience with less common wear: classic men's wear that most people including me never know its existance.

Agree, Kirby is very uptight in his clothing choices, but I was that way when I first started as well.

The red check jacket in the background looks like a boss! A secret weapon for a friday night out.

Kind of a tailored version of a safari jacket. I'm not a lover of a safari jacket, but I love the look and utility of the corduroy version.

Hi Kirby, I know this is off topic, but I would appreciate your input. I just purchased my first pair of Allen Edmund's shoes and was somewhat dissatisfied with the finish. The toe on one of the shoes almost has a blistered appearance.
Have you experienced this with any of their shoes?
    Thanks for your input

This is a similar but different piece. This is "full custom" from Flusser, so there is a lot of work that goes into this piece.

Kirby says he has a gap in his wardrobe. I doubt it. The only person with a more impressive men's wardrobe would be Simon Crompton. #Kirbyisamensweargiant

I love these videos but Kirby never gave us a good look at the jackets as always faced Jonathan. He should have turned to face the camera at least once for each jacket. But still nice to hear the discussion.

Yo DID it’s a Greek pattern, but yeah it looks weird on a tie, on architecture it’s whatever but on a tie this kind of looks like it’s out of Richard Spencer’s wardrobe

    • @Huffman_Tree

It's such a nice tie, too. Too bad the pattern looks like that from a certain angle.
