Thank you for all the positive comments. We're about to start filming Series Two, and need help from the international martial arts community to do it.
Learn how you can become a supporter or sponsor of the series in the video description.

It takes a teacher with humility and no ego to tell his student to go and learn a particular technique from another teacher, this is the true spirit of karate !!! I wish it would go back to those days he was talking about !!

As an American, I want to apologize for the atrocities committed against the women of Okinawa and its people.
I am 56 years old and I keep learning about things such as this. Much love and respect for you Sensei Zenshu Toyama 🙏🏼

It's refreshing to see the true humbleness in him. He doesn't claim being a direct student of Miyagi-sensei himself as some others do, let's not point fingers at them and their "certificates proving" it. He's a 3rd generation of Goju-ryu being in Miyagi and Toguchi direct lineage and it suits him well (I'm the 4th but mine is Miyazato's line). I have a pleasure listening to him and watching him move (as I might miss some details being one more generation apart from the source). Thank you very much indeed!

In his words you can recognize the real meaning of sensei, the one who came before.
    A very wise man.

Very good explanation of why to repeatedly train kata so that the movements are ingrained into your body and mind, so that if the need arises, the movements/techniques can be called upon instantly !!

Thank you very much from Uruguay S America. All these Masters are impressive. Wise words in all your videos. They let me many things to reflect on. Great contribution by you to all the People around the World interested in real Karate training and point of views; no matter the style. I lived for a few months in mainland Japan. Do not know how those many foreigners mentioned can reside there (without working for the USA gov or marrying a local gal) I wish I could but I do not know how.

The reason american soldiers were kind as the sensei says in the video is that they were European descend americans. Whereas the problems with american soldiers raping local civilians were from a different demographics. These rapes also occurred in France with 6,500 rapes officially reported. Here my sources are straight factual historical references that can also be verified in wiki. So if you are a youtube censor agent do not dare to tell me i am spreading anything else than factual truth. The US army tried and court martial the american perpetrators of which, quoting direct historical source, 81 % were black. Don't you dare censor that historical truth just because you don't like it. If you feel discomfortable about the truth it is because you have a dissonance between reality and your ideology. It is your problem, do not act as totalitarian bullies that tries to silence the truth.

No. Karate is born in Okinawa, using some techniques from Japan, China and South East Asia.

Han chinese have stolen many original invention from other civilizations and claimed them as theirs if this sound familiar, it's because they have not ceased and are still functioning with this modus operandi. But to cite an obvious one, everybody thinks the chinese invented silk fabric. False, it was invented in Persia and transfered to China via the silk road, where the chinese transformed it into a big volume business. In fact very little was invented in China if anything at all. Maybe only chinese characters and even that might have come from non Hans ethnic groups.
