I bought this camera for my wife to try and give her an interest in photography. It never worked and I finished up using it myself. It's great for slipping in your pocket on a walk just in case you come across a photo or taking with you on an evening out . O took it on holiday once instead of my DSLR but found the lack of a viewfinder to be annoying. I find it a nice little standby camera though when that DSLR is just too heavy and bulky to have around.

I really proud of the feature that you can even easily with unique new app connect you transfer your photos and video to phone. While you still working with shoots you configure and control zoom. With you app you can easily take a picture of yourself

I sure wish they had continued updating this model camera, as it is a surprisingly good superzoom that fits in your pocket. Yes, there was the SX730, but they pretty much just gave it a higher number and that's it. I can only imagine what we'd have now if they had this camera with an updated sensor, jpeg engine, and autofocus.

I am quite confused with canon and sony in the same budget of SX720. I don't want to regret after purchasing the camera. Video zoom doesn't matter that much because I hardly use 4-6x zooming. So is this good camera or should I go for another one. I am waiting for your reply or anyone who can help me with this, please feel free to drop your suggestion.

well movie maker is great . it's free, lets you add text, transition, titles, etc. if you want to get more advanced there is IMovie, and if you have 300 dollars to spend there is Final Cut Pro. I have also heard of something called Cute Cut Pro which is not free, but seems to be a good app. There is also Filmora Wondershare which is about 50 dollars. you can download the trial version to experiment, but it leaves a watermark on an MP4 video.

Canon sx720 is very good for daylight shooting but due to the small sensor and slow lens, not so good for low light. You're better off with a compact 1 inch sensor camera, such as the Canon G5X, Canon G7X, Panasonic LX100, or anything in the Sony RX100 series.

Just saw this camera last night at a store and had a hard time getting it to focus with extreme zoom. I need a good, fast easy-to-use camera to take on safari and don't want to miss a lot of good shots due to the zoom not working. Is there an "auto" setting one can put this camera on so you can just point and shoot and not worry about making sure all the settings are right? Is it poissible a camera setting had been changed making auto focus with extreme zoom not work properly? Thanks

Might have been because it was overcast but i've seen overcast look better and wasn't really able to improve them in premiere also. Video quality is very poor... 1080p 30fps and 720p 30fps ..the quality of video is not acceptable... noise is less but picture is not sharp... no depth in image quality.... I believe its good in low light as long as you can find your focal point. Video not so much if you have to zoom too far. I took pics of the moon a couple nights ago but when I switched to video nearby light interfered with it's ability to focus on background objects. There is a fish eye lens effect in the creative mode. It's between candle light and miniature effect! Go to scene mode and hit the function button. From the portrait picture you can move up and down if you click to the right and you will find the effect.

its a travel pod, basically you can bend and shape the legs of the tripod to grip and surface, a pretty cool thing for when you don't have even surfaces

also slow photo and video traking object and need long time to focus to object
the 720 battery life and storage is awesome.. the auto focus on here works well and its quick to start only about 2 seconds

Which is better Between this
Canon SX720 hs or Nikon coolpix A900. Nikon P900 for Image quality and videos.
Go with the SX720 if you like it small and easy, go with the P900 if you need intense zoom and I don`t know about the A900.

Help!! I was wondering which camera to get for traveling? Canon PowerShot SX620 HS or Canon PowerShot SX720 HS? between these two which is more responsive and quick at taking photos?

the daniel life i'm trying to spend as much as i can i saw it on amazon for 379 witch is good but i need more answers about the camera.
Video quality is very poor... 1080p 30fps and 720p 30fps ..the quality of video is not acceptable... noise is less but picture is not sharp... no depth in image quality.... At 1080 p 60fps the video is sharp..but contains too much noise.. I dont know which is the best mode for shooting video on this cam when light is low..Pls suggest best option for sharp video...??
NB:-previos version sx210 produce good quality video than this sx720...why?
use the live mode which lets you adjust saturation etc

Hey is does this camera take good video in low light? not in pitch dark but for example if I'm take a time-lapse video of me drawing at night with a desk light would the video come out good?
yes it would, if you go to live mode and adjust the settings.
I believe its good in low light as long as you can find your focal point. Video not so much if you have to zoom too far. I took pics of the moon a couple nights ago but when I switched to video nearby light interfered with it's ability to focus on background objects. If the mic used for this video is the same as on the camera, it's junk...no voice inflection doesn't help.

HEHE with a Fisheye, I used the Canon EF 8-15mm F4L Fisheye lens

There is a fish eye lens effect in the creative mode. It's between candle light and miniature effect! Go to scene mode and hit the function button. From the portrait picture you can move up and down if you click to the right and you will find the effect.
