Early prediction: Chile will thrive, due to fewer threats to their coastline. Croatia will get nibbled on by everybody! Edit: Wow was I wrong. I suppose Croatia's huge dev was too intimidating for people to attack...?
I loved this video! Two additional ideas for you to consider: (1) A mod that changes chances the number of allowed diplomatic relations by rank, such that great powers are not allowed alliances (or maybe 1) and smaller nations are able to form additional alliances. Hopefully making for a game where to hold onto the tp spot long you have to really pop-off extra well. (2) Africa Rises, where we start in 1444 vanilla except Africa is consolidated into several big formable tags with colonizable space mostly filled in already. It would be interesting to see how the colonizers do when Africa is ready to fight back.
Should maybe do this again, but add Kilwa as coastal owner of all of africa as well since they usually own all of east coast africa anyway. Maybe this. All mainland coast in eurasia is croatia All mainland coast in africa is Kilwa All mainland coast in the americas is Chile And ALL islands is Mann. with 4 great powers things should get more interesting.
Landshut in denmark was propably because denmark have the same starting dynasty as them (or other german prince i south germany) and they go PU'd most likely. Also your pronoucination of "polska górom" was good/correct :D
You should've given the coastline of Asia to Vietnam, a similarly coast-hogging country. It'd certainly have made Croatia less hegemonic in the Old World.
At 8.35 Landshut got the lands in scandinavia probably because the bavarian tags and the palatinate have the same dynasty(wittelsbach) as the sacandinavians at the start of the game Lokks like a lost or inherited pu shenanigans
I did something like this in a ck2 to eu4 campaign Took every single coastal region and a straight line through Russia and named my country "The wall" with the goal of preventing ANYONE from coming in and out of Europe, and if anyone grew too big I'd war them and break them back up into smaller states
just started the video and the aoe3 theme song made me like instantly. good choice of bgm. edit: good vid, definitely do the stateless societies idea. sounds like a lot of fun.
Is it possible to swap the HRE and EoC mechanics? Like you start in 1444 with a united Holy Roman Empire that instead uses the Mandate of Heaven, and China/East Asia starts super decentralized with the HRE mechanics? I don't know how they'd interact with religions though, unless you also swap Europe to Confucian/Buddhist and Asia to Catholic.
Suggestion: in terms of Gov Cap, give any new superpowers JUST enough gov cap to maintain their empire, but with not too much room for expansion. They don’t get punished for being big, but still have at least some of the same obstacles.
At the end, I was surprised that you gave Croatia the lands of Northern Siberia, which isn't really coastline. But then I looked back: they actually didn't have that land from the start. They just colonized or conquered all that land by themselves, preferring the area furthest from anyone else. Incredible.
Chewbert my man, you're too smart not to know that Denmark, Palatinate, and all the Bavarian minors share the same dynasty. A few videos ago you were surprised Denmark had land in southern Germany, it was undoubtedly PU shenanigans. In this case, looks like Landshut got Sweden (although not sure how Sweden got a Wittelsbach). I only point it out because you keep saying you don't know how it happens ;)
I think the next idea should be the inland boys: Switzerland, Croatia's rival Serbia, Tibet/any nation in group, and kitarua or interior African nation The battle of the Lakes
You should have done with as more of a 50/50 split Edit: I mean theat the coast closer to Chile would belong to Chile but the coast which is closer to Croatia is Croatian
@@burtreynolds8030 Chile had all the governing capacity to conquer the world and had weak neighbors. Coastal supremacy: All Inland provinces become 3 dev with a massive dev cost penalty and all coastal provinces gain +3 dev with reduced dev cost. This makes the inland worthless compared to the coast.
Vietnam in Asia and Somalia in Africa and USA in north America, as long the thirteen colonies were like Chile for natives. Then one for each sea... Yemen for red sea, Oman for Persian sea, algiers for western Mediterranean sea...
In real History Habsburgs came to power when some German prince allied with Hungary and killed Ottokar II of Bohemia. This led to the born of Habsburg Austria. So what would happen, if back then Hungary side with the Czech and Ottokar II win? I mean, the idea is starting with Europe, but all Habsburg/Austrian province is Bohemian.
Have one nation take over the entire world and give them a nerf that makes them completely incapable of doing anything with rebels, thus producing a fresh start depending on how seperatist rebels form the borders of their country.
To be fair, Greece and Norway have longer coasts... but I still like the idea *No bias noted here whatsoever.* (don't ask Balkan people their countries... you've been warned!)
I'm sure a jan mayen and synthetic game is pretty low hanging fruit, so why not do something like a super nation battle royal? hell you could probably throw a zombie invasion in the mix too.
I think that stateless societies for the entire world would result in everyone releasing vassals due to the -99% gov cap. Take from that what you will. Also, if you redo a coastal nation video, think about giving the Asian coastline to Vietnam, the looong boy of Indochina.
I think why chille is expanding slower than Croatia is that they have less to conquer with less options but yo colonize Same thing with Croatia not colonizing Africa until very late
Bolivia vs Hungary Ya know since both of those nations want to gain coast why not give them every inland province? Bolivia= New world and maybe Africa with Oceania and Hungary having Old world inland provinces?
watching Croatia's name placement getting bad, then better, then worse was pretty great

yea saddly AI can't account for croatia having troops on the other side of the planet
I imagine in this word there is talk of the mythical ocean that is kept guared by the unified barbarians
Very creative idea, I must admit
for the name placement, chile wins by a large margin

The final great powers list shows that colonialism never spawned. The tech map might have been very interesting.
Eh it essentially would just have EVERYONE behind in tech so they would still be even if that makes sense
it appears that everyone was 9 techs behind
dankjewel kaaskip
Chile/La Plata might have been second place with dev, but they definitely win with respect to name size and borders.

yes and maje them allied

You could do something similar if you released all the Chinese tags as vassals to Ming and make Ming the shogunate.
