I am 25 years old now and through the past years of my life these are the things that I have learned: 1. Choose your friends wisely, quality over quantity. 2. Learn to say no if something is against your will. When you say no to others, you say yes to your self. 3. Loving my body instead of critisizing it is freedom. I exercise because I love it not because I hate it. 4. Be responsible in handling my salary. 5. Cut negativity in life. It's not worth it. 6. Never gossip about people. 7. Do things that make me truly happy, painting, walking, and singing. 8. Learning English is a skill. It's like a gate to the outside world. 9. Be grateful for everything. 10. Every morning, I say to myself, " I love you and I forgive you." :) Thank you Mr.
You don't "choose" friends that's not how it works. If you chose them and they don't choose you are they really your friend? Friendship is a mutual thing. It also never stays the same as we are constantly aging.
Thanks for sharing. Learned some of those the hard way but the most painful thing I've learn recently was LEARN TO VALUE YOUR TIME SPENT WITH THE PEOPLE YOU CARE THE MOST. ALWAYS MAKE TIME FOR THEM, NO EXCUSES.
5 things that I learnt in my life according to Sena (summary, with commentaries): 1) Friends are important 02:30 "It's better to have a small number of friends that care about you a lot than having many friends that you barely talk to" 02:38 "Great friends have the power to mold you into the best version of yourself. They see you and love you for who you truly are. They encourage you and push you to do better and be the person you want to become" OK, I've been struggling with this. As an introvert, I enjoy my solitude so much, maybe too much. Also, I don't really like the thought of making friends in order to reap the benefits, like to have a good health, or to improve myself, or to have a safety net when things become awry. It seems like an impure motivation for me (honest thought, I don't mean to judge anyone here). I prefer my friendships to come organically, although I know like any other good things in life, it takes effort. I'd rather think that I make efforts to maintain my friendship because I love my friends, not because I want to reap the benefits. Even so, I'm still struggling with those efforts. 2) Never stop learning 03:32 "Learning new things is like an exercise for your brain. It's exactly the same as doing physical exercise. If you don't use it, it simply deteriorates. That's why I thought I had become a boring person." Lesson learnt: If you're bored, it means you need to learn something new. it's a much better way to get rid of your boredom instead of doing meaningless or even harmful things, like playing video games or snacking too much. 3) Happiness comes within yourself 04:50 "... I figure that extreme level of happiness only lasts in a short period of times. And it always reverts back to somewhere around 70% of happiness. So I thought I have to focus on this 70% happiness level which is the majority of my life, and how I can make myself content with it. So I decided to do the opposite and chose hard things to do.... I thought if I could make myself go through hard things, then I would be able to appreciate the normal things that I do on a daily basis. For instance... I'm not good at cooking, but I make my breakfast, lunch, and dinner almost everyday. When finally I go out to a restaurant and eat, I can appreciate the high quality food that I cannot create in my own, and the chefs and staff that provide me with an incredible experience." This is interesting. Sena is the first person I know to deliberately go through harder things in order to appreciate "normal" things. Most of us have gone through hard things not by choice (obviously!). But I think this could only be done by someone who have enough free time to do that. I don't have that luxury (yet). However, currently I work for a manufacturing company. Everything goes in the production lines is calculated: how many materials, hours, number of people, water, electricity, etc. It helps me to (sometimes) appreciate small and ordinary things like plastic bags, wrappers, brochures, etc. which I used to take for granted. I think this is what Marie Kondo meant when she told us to thank our belongings. 05:55 "... happiness comes within yourself. Just because a lot of people may find happiness in some particular things, it doesn't mean you can be happy with the same things." 06:03 "You need to find what makes you happy and it doesn't have to be the same as everyone else." This is a gem. It can be broadly applied to many things outside material things. You don't have to be married, or in a relationship, or having children, or having a steady job, to be happy. Old spinster within me feels validated😂. 4) Stop respecting others just because of their social status or job titles. 06:16 Sena told a personal story from his experience as a salesperson, which I think everyone else should listen to. This is the first time I know a salesperson who genuinely want to solve other people's problem. Frankly I secretly disdain salespeople and keep my guard up around them. I think most of them actually want to achieve their sales target first (thus, helping their customer/client comes as second priority), while pretending helping their customer/client is their first priority. And too many of them have mastered sweet-talking skill almost perfectly so it takes a while to notice their true intention, hence the need to keep my guard up. 08:31 "... I would love to connect with people that I respect not because of their job titles, but because of who they are. And because of this perspective, I could meet some amazing people that I look up to. And one thing in common for those people is that they give you different perspectives to think about things, but they never tell you what is right and wrong. They offer a lot of insight and let you decide how you want to live your life. This is very true, and it's one of the benefits of befriending amazing people. But again. I'm still struggling with this. I want to keep my motivation pure when becoming a friend. For me, it means I don't intentionally chase after the benefit. 5) True growth takes time In essence: be patient with yourself. Don't compare yourself with other people, especially in social media like RUclips or Instagram because we all already know that a lot of them are superficial. Don't give up making small progress because they are accumulated to be a big change along the way. In a few years, you might look back and thanking the old you for making those small progress. I hope I capture all the important things. Thank you Sena, for sharing. This video is an unexpected gem. Initially I watch this just to pass the time, but ended up taking a lot of notes here. PS: A tip for other people who want to learn from this video. Turn on the caption, then scroll your screen up so you can only see the text. It helped me to focus only on the message of the video. Sena is too good looking, and sometimes it can be a distraction😂🤣😂
I relate a lot with your personal commentary. Especially not being able to make friends so as to benefit from them in some way. Thanks for jotting it down.
7:37. I totally relate to your reactions to the CEO’s take on the meeting. I was often disappointed in superiors actions and how their superiors were fooled by their immature and unwise/foolish behaviour. You’re self confident as I am and we’re better than those people.
Greetings from Jakarta Indonesia! Things I learned in my life: - I learned how to be decisive and say NO! - Be nice to people, everybody has their own stories and struggles that made them who they are - There is a very thin line between being religious and being ignorant - I use my social media to share my happiness (food, travel, hobbies), friendships, and celebrations in my life. I would never use my social media to show or share political bias things. I have seen that to many of my friends became religious/political expert on social media and I got second hand embarrassment just by looking at their social media LOL 😂 btw I'm glad I found your channel Sena!
Your values are genuine. Sounds like mine. But I use to feel lonely, because they are shared by so few. Here in Sweden materalism and shallowness is pretty much everything. Therefore I often feels like an UFO in my envoirment. Your are so young and wise, with a lot of depth.
True.happy come beyong yourself.whether have alot of people or not time will teach you soon coming,be alone it not a bad thing sometime it also teach you to how you make decision whether you are getting thing instade of people give advice that you may not like it n some friends may not want to join where you want to go because that a choice of people.happy you have improve on your living in going out to drink n eat in restaurant or walk n go to work.enjoy n do keep in mine because future you may appreciate the place you have stay.jia you.
I turned 27 the month this video was published. Feels like I've stayed the same for the last 10 years. I do resonate strongly with never stopping to learn. I want to keep learning, become really good at it, even if I might never learn everything there is to know about anything.
Thanks for watching this video! It's difficult to know how much you have improved/grown as a person and I understand your perspectives :) One thing that I can tell you is that as long as you have the attitude of wanting to learn new things, you're constantly evolving. Let's enjoy the process of learning new things!
@rowan orre I think what you meant is the opportunity to learn is never stop coming, because life keeps happening. But a lot of people indeed do stop learning. Bless the ones who don't.
You speak English very well. My speech is in Technical field as i am an engineer working for Global company. I speak very short and that is enough to understand in work.
07:00 dominating the cliënt, framing the issues to benefit who? Client comes first.? I totally agree with your approach Sena. We should develop our own personal workingstyle. It makes us more genuine and reliable, instead of dominating the conversation and the client. Thank u for sharing your insights.
I don't think I''ve ever met anyone who likes talking about stuff in this depth. In fact when you start talking in this way they often turn off.. where is society headed?

You are a young but wise man, Sena; from an American woman who is old enough to be your grandmother.
Thank you for watching this video!
And I am old enough to be your not-very-wise-but-still-learning uncle. From the UK.
