The older I get the simpler I want my life to be. The simpler I make my life the happier I am. I’m glad there’s someone on YT that shares this perspective. If I ever get the chance to go to Japan it would be cool to meet you someday. Be blessed!

Your knowledge is very deep and well analyzed. I recently had an argument with someone on RUclips that people in general can become slaves to their vices. One: people are not going to like you because your spirit irritates their demons. Two: the truth divides because the lie has made people too comfortable. Keep rising shinning star. You are enough.

    Congratulations on the sponsored microphone.
And your topic this time was relatable as always.
I also think focusing on present situations should be important in people‘s thoughts as well as wishing ourselves/themselves bright future.
For me, it's still a bit tough to let myself realize my current situations should be treated more carefully.
    今をもっと大切にしないととは分かりつつ、どうしても将来こうありたいという姿を追い求めてしまってバランスの難しさを痛感します😅

@Heidi the Eclectic Vagabond I like the sunrise scenery. The scene shows us different types of the color of the sky depending on the season.

@Heidi the Eclectic Vagabond Yes I watch the sunrise every day even if it's rainy.
Watching it make me feel a new day has started and I‘m about to explore something new.
My bio photo is a sunrise taken in January. It's very cold in January in my country, and the sky during sunsets becomes colorful☀

I remember the time that I was interviewed by a Japanese man for college here in the Philippines, I kept telling him to repeat his questions for many times. His accent is out of this world, I can't barely understand. My face got awkward by the middle of the interview, while him, still nice and relaxed. I feel so bad for the Japanese man after watching this video.

Small things that motivate me a lot are accomplishing small tasks. I use a white board mostly to list things I need to do. Stopping in my tracks when I’ve seen something that I’ve been meaning to do but have not for a while, and then just doing it right then and there, makes me feel so good and happy.

I honestly have never really seen the point of a life coach.... but if you were a life coach helping people who want to think/act more like you I would sign up in a heart beat! All the negative points you made that you didn't like and how you always chased the next goal. is exactly the stage I am in right now! Your videos are helping me a lot to come out a deep depression stage, also stop spending money on a short high of happiness when buying things so I can save money to go on my dream holiday to japan!

Thank you for this video, Sena.
For the last couple of days I have been without central heating. Hot water, yes, heating, no. I expect that it will be sorted next week but it is timely to be reminded how much we can take some things for granted.
Your point about enjoying simple things is well made. I think it has something to do with contingencies (or lack of them). The outcome of cooking delicious food for yourself , for example, is not really contingent on anything. You are not cooking to impress/please/entertain other people (I have done a lot of that in the past) and thereby elicit positive feedback. You are simply cooking to sustain and nourish yourself. The trick seems to be taking the time to appreciate the outcome. Thank you for reminding me.

Sena if you use dairy, giving up dairy might solve your nasal issues and improve your sleeping. It’s said that milk is for calves, that we’re the only mammal that uses cows milk. It’s also said that many of us are drowning in the mucus in our heads. Might make sense to you and others.

True happiness is a spiritual experience.
True meaning of life is spiritual progression.
True purpose of life is to constant grow spiritually.

I started nasal breathing at night and throughout the day and it has cleared my nose a lot now! I totally agree it’s a small thing that can change you’re life!

I was exactly the same with the nasel sprays!!! It was a vicious cycle. I thought I was going to die because I couldn't breathe through my nose. Its been years now and I'm so happy I stopped relying on them 😊 I thought it was just me who had this issue 😅

@@SenaShimotsuma Same here with the sprays! Now I think it is quite crazy as a doctor telling a kid: "Use this for the rest of your life" hahahaha
I think many other lifestyle decisions, like your diet and regular physical exercise help a lot, and I also agree that after stopping needing an external medicinemakes you feel more independent, which aligns with the personalities of Sena and the people in this channel.
Not sure if you have read anything about the enneagram Sena, it tries to "classify" people in 9 types of personality. While obviously everbody is different, it was revealing for me to identify with the 5th type, which values its independence above anything. Independence of a medicine, independence of a job, independence of the trends of the world...
      Great content, keep going! :)

Terrific video as always. I am glad your new sound equipment is helpful. Fluticasone Nasal Spray and Mucinex tablets (OTC) will clear your breathing and not be addictive. Singulair is a prescription; take nightly. Echinacea is natural; take a capsule daily. Life is too short not to be completely comfortable and even a minimalist has a medicine cabinet in the bath. 👍 PS I was an ESL teacher for years. Your English is nearly perfect. 👏

Aww~ Recently, i dont understand why Japanese people like to say itadakimasu and tadaima/okaeri. 🤪
After many years of observation in japanese culture, i learnt the spirit of "mono no aware". (物の哀れ)
the famous japanese quote "ichigo ichie" is come from the concept of mono no aware as well~
I have learnt that, many thing in life doesnt going on as what u wish even you had been working hard on it for so much time.
every little success and happiness are occupied with uncertainty.
because of the impermanence of things in life, i do appreciate deeply every little small happiness in life.
i dont know how exactly the word itadakemasu/tadaima/okaeri come. i guess that is how the feeling of saying itadakimasu when starting meal and saying tadaima to family member when back home~ Aww~ (T_____T)
those are my 2 cents~ dont take it serious if i am wrong~ 😅

I am American, but grew up in Europe. As an adult, I've been lucky enough to live for a few years in Japan during the '90- a long time ago.
So... what re-adjustment (culturally) is/was most difficult now that you are 'Japanese' in Japan?
