You are the only video on RUclips demonstrating sending FX to Aux. I’ve been going crazy looking for this and thanks to you, I feel complete with my new StudioLive 32sx. Thank you so much!
This board just seems to be so effective and the amount of options is amazing. Apart from that its just one of the most beautiful boards i've ever seen.
Thank you for such a great lesson. We just got our 32S, and I've been chosen to set it up. This video is a HUGE help to get started. I look forward to seeing your other lessons. 👽✌️
I'm still learning my Studio Live 16 series 3 and I can say I am being more and more amazed at it's power and versatility. Thanks for explaining an important section of it's use :).
Nice video. We have the PreSonus 32 Live at a small church in Fort Collins Colorado and over the last year I've been figuring more and more out.. I've been having an issue with the send to our RUclips stream and when I'm using reverb FXA for example, I get too much reverb in the RUclips stream itself while in the main room it sounds just fine. The RUclips stream is sent out through Mix 8 in our case and I'm wondering how I can control the reverb on Mix 8 or our RUclips stream separately from the main room feed. Thank you
Is Mix 8 a regular Aux send, or is it a Matrix? If Mix 8 is an Aux send, bring up Mix 8 and use the "Prev" and "Next" buttons (at the top left of the fader panel) to page to the right to bring up the other inputs. From what I recall, on the last page (3 pages?), you should see the Effects return fader; check to see if the fader is set too high. To get back to the main 1-32 inputs, just press the "Prev" key till the inputs show up. This method should also work if Mix 8 is a Matrix (there could be different routing things going on if the RUclips stream is on a Matrix). Also, you may want to check the actual effects. Press the affected effects button. When the inputs show up, verify that only the instruments/inputs you need are being sent to the effects processor. You may need to use the "Prev" and "Next" buttons to page through the inputs. Hope this helps.
The FOH reverb control is managed within the effects buttons. Select the effect button and all the inputs/faders can be sent to the effects processor. For reverb within an AUX, select the AUX mix and then page over to the right (using the arrows) until you see effects return; the reverb can be controlled from the reverb fader. If you need complete separation of effects for an input (between FOH and AUX), you may need to use other effects engine on the input (one for FOH, and one for AUX).
The FX volume is independent of all outputs. The FOH FX volume is separate from the AUX mixes. The FX levels are controlled independently within each of the AUX channels and the FOH level.
Is there a way to mute the effects via a footswitch? Saw a guy did it with an older board that had channel inserts, but this board does not have those.
My console is not sending effects into the house at all i’ve made sure the FX master is up and that the FX Return is up and still nothing i send my vocal channel to FX A which is the reverb and I get nothing into the house. How can I fix this?
Sending FX to FOH is rather simple (just as it is shown in the video). Are you getting signal to FOH without effects? Have you tried using another effects buss (B,C, or D)? What firmware level is your console?
That is odd behavior for that console. It's straight forward for setting up effects. Without sitting in front of the console to see what is going on, it's very difficult to provide a fix or solution. If you bought the console new, you should be able to open a ticket with Presonus. If you bought the console used, Presonus has a questions/answers website where users can post issues. Other users can usually answer any questions. forums.presonus.com
@stageleftaudio thank you I think I trouble shooted it now I'm having trouble playing back recording I think I might need an SD card to keep recording tracks on console then bounce to daw
@@ELORIGINALDELASIERRA Playing back recordings on a Presonus (like many digital consoles) can be a problem, especially if the recording was NOT originally made on the console you are using. We don't use our consoles for recording nor DAW work. There's too much involved with that!
I need some help! So I have the same board and I’m trying to figure out how to one of the matrix channels to studio one and have it processed live for our live stream.
For the matrix channels, you may need to add the instruments into a subgroup first, then assign that subgroup to a matrix. However, what may work better is to use one of the aux-outs. It may be easier to setup an aux than a matrix.
Hi there, can you someone give me more information about playback possibilities on the studiolive32SC mix console? Can I play regular WAV/MP3 files from SD card (which I do not record thru the console)? Can I choose options like: repeat all, repeat one, play one (play one and stay paused before the next)
I believe the SD card provisions are for recording only. Playback would need to come through an aux or channel input using an external playback device.
We've own a Presonus StudioLive since they were first introduced. We have NEVER been able to get ANY effects to work. There is something we are missing. I believe it is what you did around 3:42. Why did you do this? I CANNOT find anythng in the manual that explains this. We are very disappointed with this product and have found the very availability of BASIC settings VERY lacking. We will not be buying anymore products from Prosonus and will never recommend them to any other church. Great hardware. Poor interface. Worse documentation.
Do the effects work in FOH? Or do they not work at all... anywhere in the console? Is the firmware somewhat current? ...above 2.1? You are correct, the Presonus documentation seems to lack instructional information, however the documentation does a good job referencing the technical side of what the console is. The effects (by default) are the four purple buttons on the lower left side of the "Flex mix" area. Just like in this video, if you select, for example, "FX A", the faders (and screen) should change to the "FX A" layer. All the effects on the console have an "input", and "master", and a "return". For example, assuming you need reverb on a vocal, make sure there is input from the vocal channel on the effects you are needing... next, set the master level for the effects (should be the console main fader by default) up to the -0- db mark. Next, set the return level of the effects (using the AUX controls) button above the Soft Keys buttons. The effects engines are just like an AUX sends. If nothing is working, you may want to open a ticket with Presonus about the issue, also, you could try resetting your mixer: ruclips.net/video/DvJlqzcWcWk/видео.html
@@stageleftaudio Thanks for replying. I've left that church but watched this again to see what "the church AV team" could have missed. I'm sorry but I could not follow the what you were doing on the board with all the camera movement. I'm sure this somehow works on a Presonus BUT I will never recommend their products.
@@gibfen1235 Thanks for the followup. Sorry to see you were not able to get them working. Setting up effects is somewhat straight forward... setting them up is similar to setting up monitors sends. I will say this, Presonus has user profiles that can be configured on a console. If you were on the console as any user other than "Administrator", it could have been possible that some areas of the console were made unavailable to non Admin users. I have never managed user accounts on a Presonus, so I can't speak much about it.

SAME HERE... not even clear in the manual.

Hi How to separate reverb control Foh and aux
The FOH reverb control is managed within the effects buttons. Select the effect button and all the inputs/faders can be sent to the effects processor.
For reverb within an AUX, select the AUX mix and then page over to the right (using the arrows) until you see effects return; the reverb can be controlled from the reverb fader.

Hi, I'm planning to get one of this for my church. Can I use a regular snake with this unit?
Yes
Does turning up FX for FOH turn up the FX to the AUX mix due to the FX being post fade ??
The FX volume is independent of all outputs. The FOH FX volume is separate from the AUX mixes. The FX levels are controlled independently within each of the AUX channels and the FOH level.
Great video, it was very helpful!
Though I try multiple times I am not able to get the FX sends to work
Is there a way to mute the effects via a footswitch? Saw a guy did it with an older board that had channel inserts, but this board does not have those.
I'm not aware of any way to do that. Though, it may be possible using Universal Control with MIDI.
can you do a gear/equipment tour please
We have a video from several years ago covering much of the equipment; however, we will probably do anther video covering the upgraded and new gear.

how do you set up slot effects on the fare right on studio live 64s for{ 8 } different effects FxA FxB FxC FxD FxE FxF FxG FxH
The right section automatically contains the master faders for the effects. You would not need to setup anything for them.
