John had some great stories! But didn't want me to tell it on air:
1. Some guy cut himself in protest over the spot. He had lost his mind and started cutting himself until they gave him the spot.
2. The Columbus circle hot dog "crew" are owned by a family that wanted to take his spot. But since he was there every day they left him alone.
Then 2 more he said not to say LOL
You’re doing the lords work, Chris. Keep it up and continue your calling for finding the best hot dogs in NYC. 🌭 As well as documenting daily, ordinary life, on the streets.
Someday these will be a nostalgic time capsule.
👍 👍 Greetings from Poland
Hello there!
I think Chris and his camera was attracting the customers today...
Those pretzels look amazing too. I never had one from a cart.
I can’t get enough of this channel!
Hot dog 🌭 heaven..
NYC
Chris, Thank You For Another Great Video, You Are Making History. Always Look Forward To The Next Video.
Reminds of my DC Greek hot dog guy of 40 years ago, simple menu, clean cart, made his own kraut. Pop cheaper than machines.
We regular customers - he would carry us if we forgot our wallets.
Parked on the corner by 9am - first service at 10. He would be gone by 2pm.
That first hot dog was a masterclass
Sounds good. Those dogs looked yummy 🤤
Hi just saw you on Action Kid video so subscribed all the way from Scotland
That's awesome!! Thank you!
In cali the popular way to eat a 🌭 is wrap it with bacon cook it on the griddle top with with Mexican sourcream cooked onions coated with Coca-Cola or brown sugar n I like to had yellow mustard
Love the style where its POV eating the hot dog
Both the Hotdog and the Sausage looked amazingly delicious !! I thought John was an honest hard working guy. You have to work long hard hours to make that business pull a profit. It's been years since I've had a nice hot pretzel. God I miss them.
It's funny. I was just watching your video at the korean hot dog place when this video was uploaded. LOL
Great videos brother
That for sure was A slip😂. Looks great. Love the Shops.
Sweet I run cart in KY would love having a big city to run.
Can you ask one of the vendors to show how they warm up the pretzels? I am a vendor and love watching they carts in operation. I was watching and saw he was keeping them on steam 👍
Hell yeah !
Looks delicious
Stay safe my friend 🤙🏽
Thanks, you too!
I have everything I need to start a hotdog or any food on a cart really u knw cali is known for bacon hotdog n tacos
About how good was the hotdog, 8s or 9s?
Is that a dill relish? Or sweet? What’s your take on it and does it compare to store type relish or is it its own thing? It looks delicious 🙏
Chris remember you gotta ask for mustard last so its on top ;)
I kind of like the onions on top.
@@NYCHotDogStands Sauerkraut/Mustard/Dog/Onions ?
@@__PJ__ mustard / sauerkraut/ oinions on top.
Mustard should always go first on the dog
I think John was feeling you were getting a bit personal..😅
He answered all my questions off-camera! Second i turned on he got shy.
@@NYCHotDogStands You were like a 60 Minutes reporter with the questions, but I get being camera shy..probably his first camera interview..😀
I’m a big fan of chili beans on a hot dog. Do any of the hot dog stands have chili beans?
They do.
Love the channel. When you started filming it seemed like your camera or phone was tilted. It threw me off like everything was leaning to the right
I think the mic threw off the balance.
Ketchup does not belong on a hot dog
Can you give street numbers and corners
West 59th st and 8th Ave.
@@NYCHotDogStands I agree, all of these going forward should have the vendors name and location
@@Av-vd3wk or an excel spreadsheet, ave/street, rating, Name of vender or/and tell venders for anyone here who goes to vendor because of Chris's videos so they see visiting business because of video lol
Yeah can you keep an online Google Spreadsheet?
@@Av-vd3wk emmm I don't know...
U need a permit to sell hotdogs in New York . that permit is for the location , so why would he be concerned about someone taking his spot, unless he doesn't have a permit 😮
Permit is to sell, not location. The longer you have been at a location, the more respect you receive from other vendors. They know its your spot. I interviewed a couple of carts who have been there for years. They just have to make sure that the location is Commercially approved.
@NYCHotDogStands price of the permit is based on the location. More foot traffic means a higher cost of permit. If it wasn't done this way, then everyone would just set up their cart at the busiest place's, central park permits go on auction every 5 years because there's that much money to be make at they locations, there worth hundreds of thousands of dollars
