using the cut off wheel to side grind is a excellent idea and a true time savor,,, but i would think that narrow of a wheel could have a bad issue with the constant digging and chopping they like to do therefore making more work for you... somewhere for work we found some of those cut off wheels that were about three times thicker and i would think those would give you the ability to glide across the tops of the welds easier and have alot less option to dig into the metal in a way that would chowder up your work and costing you more time...i know this is probably after the fact and they are already cut down but if you want me to find out where we got them as well as the name if said wheel i have no problem doing so and you could try them out in your next resto project
Hey there and Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Yes I agree with that logic completely and I neglected to include that factoid. The Cut off discs that I use and have used in the past are much thicker @ 1/16 and not the same thin ones that I use specifically for trimming / cutting sheet metal for a tight fit @ 1/32. I would prefer to use something even thicker than 1/16. Let me know what you use when you can. Thanks for helping out!

@@theautorefinery our order guy was back today and he looked up the grinding wheel we use... its a 3 inch wheel in diameter and its 1/4 inch thick and calls out the 3/8 arbor hole for use with a exhaust cutoff like you had... we get them from McMaster -Carr and here is the information...Jeffro

Everything looks killer stevooo. I can’t wait to see the end result you do not leave a stone unturned.
I really appreciate these words of encouragement. We're doing the best we can with what we have to work with. The end result - while it may be in sight - is still a long way away. Please hang in there. We're determined to maintain forward progress.
Thanks for watching

Good job it's looking nice
Thank You!! I'm glad to know when folks like what they see. My recording this time was poor I feel, but Joe did a great job making a video worth watching.

@theautorefinery if you want something to be proud of knowing you did it because you were willing to do it even of your not a so called professional which even they can't do the work needed because they are not willing to because it costs alot of $
@@martinkapp7321 - Oh I get it. this is more than a labor of love. It's more like a labor of pure insanity. A project like this barely makes good financial sense if even if the end product is worth well into the digit range. In this case, we know that we're building this car because we want to try and save something otherwise abandoned. If for nobody else's benefit but our own.
Until next time

@@theautorefinery Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎. I do not hate it, I guess with the work you have put in to lave the metal un-finish would rust even faster ?? Just trying to instant the , that all ! Still love the frame and smart move to get it clean up saves time ! 👍👍👍👍
