Good review mate. Got mine coming soon in the NY version. I have the same thoughts on the foam after running in the more v4 with respects to longevity. If the upper is the same as the more v4 it will be a warm shoe.
Sounds very promising but I'd like to wait for your full review only because of your experience with the NB SC Trainer V2 once you'd put a lot more miles in them. Definitely one on my radar.
I don't have the Cumulus but I do have the Nimbus, the 1080 feels as soft but heaps more bouncy and enjoyable. The Nimbus would be more stable and has a more noticeable forefoot rocker. 1080 feels lighter and nimble, both are really comfortable.
@1:17 is that your pinky toe stretching the upper? Never tried a 1080 but this one looks great but if this is so narrow I hope getting a half size bigger could solve it.
I think the 1080 has more pop and a more usable type of energy return. The energy return of the invincible sort of just squishes down and bounces up with not much of a feeling of forward momentum. It's early days in the 1080 though... This foam isn't fully tested and the effects could change dramatically after I put some more miles in it. It's probably the closest alternative to the invincible
Tried it in the shop today. Feel amazing.. Great energy return and light ❤. I did go half size down. Just like I SHOULD HAVE DONE with the SC Trainer V2 which in TTS is a bit big. So Elite V3 is TTS but other last is longer. Did not buy the 1080V13. It's €190 😂. Wait for a sale..
@@run-are Let me know how you feel the midsole is after 100 miles.. My SC Trainer V2 midsole just became so soft that it hurts my hips. Also Alphafly V1 did this.. 🙄
How do you compare them to the "hated" SC Trainer V2? Same bounce? Same drop? Same weight? Better fit? I just don't get along with the SC trainer V2. Perhaps should have gone down half a size.. But they are to heavy for fast runs.. To soft and unstable at recovery pace.. My hips hurt badly after the run if I run slow in them..
More bounce and the foam is more dense and energetic in the 1080. It is hard to comment on the drop as the SC Trainers rocker throws me off. The fit is heaps better in the 1080 but the upper mesh is thicker. I don't think the 1080 is a fast shoe but it's definitely more capable than the SC Trainer at picking up the pace. Sorry to hear you are not getting along with the SC Trainer!
These 1080s are very comfortable as is the Nimbus 25. Not sure about their suitability for walking while travelling but both are super comfortable shoes
Yes, more pop!! Very energetic foam. Both are great foams but feel quite different. It kinda feels like zoom X mixed with a denser Fresh Foam. Really hoping it lasts.
More bounce & energy return on the 1080 and it is more comfortable. The Nova 3 is lighter, more breathable and cheaper. Both great options! I think the durability on both is about the same. Thanks for the comment!
Am I the only one who doesn't care for bounciness on a daily trainer? I want comfortable upper and a bit of plush in the midsole. I only want bounce in my shoe for time trials - in order to know where is my race fitness is exactly, since it can be harder to judge my times with daily trainers.
For me bounce brings enjoyment to the run not speed. I understand what you are saying, I feel the same way about a long run shoe, I prefer them a little firm. The new Vomero 17 is a really comfortable shoe with no bounce. Thanks for the comment
The big difference is the rocker. Not a pronounced rocker in the 1080, it feels natural. The foam in the SC Trainer is far less dense, compresses a lot more and rebounds slower. While the 1080 feels soft, the foam is really energetic and the bounce is amazing. The 1080 feels more nimble on the foot as it's not so stiff. The weight feels pretty similar. The upper of the SC Trainer is far thinner and more breathable.
Good review. I saw these in the store, didn't have time to try them out. If they have my size I will get them. Thanks.
Great review. Definitely trying it.
So far so good! Thanks for the comments!

The upper is a little thicker than the more v4 and midsole foam certainly feels different 🤞it holds up!
Thanks for the comment
So tempted to just order this without trying but I’d have to order a US13 in the wide size - definitely a gamble. Don’t wanna miss out though

Great idea 😉
Interesting to compare it to the Asics Nimbus 25 or Cumulus 25?

Yes that's my little toe pushing out the side. I haven't had that in a NB. No irritation so far though.
Nice review. What do you think compared to the invincible run 3? Do you think this has more energy return?

I cant really fault them atm...I feel sorry for the Vomero 17 that I am currently testing in roto with the 1080 😂😂

@@i.p2088 that confirms it wasn't just my pair of the SC Trainers.

I am looking for comfortable shoes for walking while traveling. Do you have any suggestions?
These 1080s are very comfortable as is the Nimbus 25. Not sure about their suitability for walking while travelling but both are super comfortable shoes
More energy return then the Triumph 20 ❓

@@run-are Fingers crossed.
These shoes looks awesome ! Can't wait to see the new design of the More V5 .
how does it compare to Novablast 3 ?

@@run-are no problem. happy to boost the engagement 👍
May I know your weight? Because it plays a role in the midsole responsiveness and cushion
63kg
How much lighter is it compare to the New Balance SC Trainer V2? How do they compare it to the New Balance SC Trainer V2?

@@run-are I find the upper in the SC trainer V2 baggy in the toebox and I have wide feet.. 🙄
@@i.p2088 I find it baggy also. I don't mind a bit of baggy 😂
In your size is it lighter then the Triumph 20?
Yes my size is 252g in the 1080, 268g in the Triumph.
I am sensitive to low drop.. How is the drop? Like Triumph 20?
It feels a little lower than the Triumph, you definitely sink in to the midsole more in the 1080
Which one is more comfortable? This or More v4?
So far it's the 1080 for me but things may change the more I run in the 1080.
How is the foam holding up?
Its going fine as long as I keep my runs under 1hr and rotate it with other shoes. Not an everyday shoe for me.
