The early 2000's man. Nu-metal, skateboarding, and spiked hair.
Pop punk
@@jlm10181978 that too
ladev91 that era was the best to be honest remember going to school seeing that, and seeing kids skateboarding everywhere like tony hawk underground
I miss it, call me nostalgic but this music was so great
this made me felt old
You know you're becoming old when teenagers have no idea about your childhood's songs !!
I am fourteen and love Sum 41.
😳😔
Jc Blais YOu know you’re old when teenagers have no idea about my songs from college......
4 real
That ain't no shit
When you realise there's a generation alive and becoming adults who don't know Avril Lavigne and Sum 41..
At 24 y/o I've never felt so old. 😂😭
I know man... Damn we're old 😭
Don't worry. I'm 15 most of us know who she is
I’m 15 and I listen to them XD
CodyDTD at least they still smoke weed
Ikr!?
I can't believe we live in a world where a 14 year old hasn't heard of Avril. My God. We're old fellas.
Lol, ya, that surprised me too.
To be fair.....to be faaaaaaiiiir....to be fair, its not like she was Beyonce star level.....oh snap, play her destinys child
@@brownie_shenandoah "not Beyonce star level"? Avril Lavigne was much more successful than Beyonce back then. Her debut album alone had sold more than 16 million copies worldwide. Sales figures that Beyonce could only have dreamed of. "Girlfriend" was also the most successful song worldwide in 2007. Maybe Beyonce was bigger in the US but she never had the same international success as Avril.
LalaliLalalooo Avril is still insanely popular today in Asian markets. Beyoncé in America is much bigger than Avril ever was, but peak Avril was bigger than Beyoncé was at the time.
This past Sunday my friend's 8 year old daughter just randomly started singing Sk8er Boi.
This song was massive when American pie came out .
Johnhitbox imo opinion those movies killed the genre. Oversaturated too many sequel type movies using the same soundtrack over and over again. I mean sure they were fun raunchy teen comedies but eventually there was just too much.
blackknightkanos I think it was the porks of my generation. But yes I agree
@@EthanRom Pop Punk is still alive and thriving, Nothing killed it
@@182Stanny definitely dig the new modern pop punk.
Blink 182 is in the first American pie.
I can see a father is raising his daughter in a good way 🤘🤘🤘
Nice comment, appreciate it.
I'm 14 and just seen Sum 41 in concert about a month ago, along with The Offspring. It was amazing!
Paige that’s solid
Paige I went to a Sum 41 concert a few days ago
@@Lex-ip7fg How was it? I think they perform really well live, Sound exactly like they do on record.
Paige nice! I’m waiting till they get to the states so I can do they same
@@Alundrahs Yeah, Hope you have a great time! You wont be disappointed!
Sitting here thinking im still a teenager at 25. Then I watch this and think NOPE.
Lol
Andrew Yurlov just realized I’m 24._. Holy shit I could’ve sworn I just turned 16
It's the best attitude you can have. Feel young and stay young!!
Dude I'm 39 and still see myself as a teenager. Fuck age and have fun!
I’m feeling exactly the same at 35.
She smiled!!!! We did it guys
Lol
The thing that scares me is that she wasn't moving during all the song😔😔
giorgio lazzarin she is a tapper, not a banger.
giorgio lazzarin “why were people jumping during their show? That too much energy I could use tweeting”
Ha! A group effort by Sum-41
Awe, she’s so polite about it, but I can feel the cringe coming from her face. Hope my daughters are this nice to me when I show them video I think are “cool”.
I agree. She doesn't seem to like it.
What are you doing here, you absolute legend?
Probably the same cringe that most of us feel when teenagers do tik tok videos
@@cml246 im fourteen and not allowed
I WILL teach my kids to like rock music
Fat Lip is the essence of my teenage years. I can barely manage not to cry with nostalgia. I feel this song really epitomises the era
Back when this shit was just about having fun.
Sum 41 and fun went hand in hand. They were great.
@@07foxmulder When you say fun do you mean the band or the action?
ResolvedRage The music itself was fun. They never took themselves too seriously and it was a guarantee you’d heard Sum 41 at a high school party back in 2001.
Placebo, YES! Where you can understand most if not all the words. Now it’s like they repeat repeat repeat and all sound the same with autotune. Like it’s hard to find any new songs out there without autotune! Good times good music.
Now it's all about sippin lean and mumbling over a half ass beat.
I think you're hittin' the sweet spot as far as music genres for her. Punk seems to be up her alley. Might consider Simple Plan, Green Day, The Offspring, and Rise Against in the future.
Nice suggestions, thanks for the notes.
Daniel Vaughan those bands are how it all started for me, but replace Simple Plan with Linkin Park
Glitch in the Matrix Multi-Media also maybe sum more Sum41 but mostly old Blink-182 songs 😎🤘🏻🤞🏻
Offspring for sure! 😁
@@EnergeticxCheese same with me if you just add breaking benjamin
The older I've gotten the more I think Sum 41 deserves more credit than that got. Personally, I'd love to see you check out "We're All To Blame"
I still follow everything they do. Their new album is so good.
The Chitown Clown never there is amazing
Ihave been thinking that too !! That song Is so fucking deep.... A real reflex of this times ... We want all with no sacrifice
Or anything from Chuck, really. Chuck is full of incredible songs
Surprisingly they’re one of the bands that actually stuck to their style with their new music. I mean, look at the travesty that is current Blink182 lol
Her face in the being of the song is like Dad this is not cool
But he is
I finally get when kids say that their parents are embarrasing.
Lol, it happens
I'm only 11-12 and how much I would KILL to see Sum 41 again. I saw them a month ago in May. When they played Fatlip in concert, so much moshing. I was right next to it and grown men helped me not get hurt, though I was kicked in the head by a crowd surfer. Definitely the best night of my life! I also saw simple plan with them. BEST. NIGHT. EVER. Sum 41 is Definitely my favorite band.
So weird how people only a few years younger than me had a totally different childhood
I know right? Im 21 and My background is closer tô people 4 years older than younger
@@tophfb yep. These teens are dead and lowkey
@@emfraridades7261 its just weird. I was born at the tail end of being classified as a millenial and right at the start of Gen Z. And people even a year or two younger than me had a completely different upbringing
@@lateblume4208 yep, i feel the same. Maybe its because so much things changed in the 2010s.
@@emfraridades7261 the iphone came out when I was around 12. And youtube was just starting to pick up. But people a few years younger were watching youtube at a very young age. And barely watched tv. Its interesting
Takes me back to the spring/summer of 2001. Weezer just released “the green album”, Blink just released TOYPAJ and Sum 41 released this gem. What a great summer. Oh and let’s not forget the classic American Pie 2.
Jesus I feel old. I remember jamming to this in high school.
I was 13 in 7th grade when this came out; skateboarding, Surge sodas & Disney channel original movies that were always dope. How has it already been 19 years?! Great reaction vid; I was moving to the whole song just like you lol 🤘🏽🤟🏽
I remember the late summer nights with my friends.. I remember we played fat lip on a Saturday night nonstop on the CD player.. Then our next door neighbour yelled from fence saying "yo little bros turn that shit up I can't hear it" 😂😂
Early 2000s were the freaking days man !! Miss it
""did they just said "we laugh when old people fall" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I knew she's a punk rocker! Next one Motivation and Into Deep and Avril's I'm with you, s8er boi and Compicated.
Lol, ya, maybe she is a punk rocker. My wife loves punk music.
I've recently "rediscovered" Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Papa Roach, Blink 182, etc... God, the late 90s/early 2000s was such awesome music!! Reminds me, a millennial closer to the tail end of the age group, of a time when I was happy lmao
3:28 He finally gets to the song.
ill never forget when my mom heard me listening to this song for the first time. SHE WAS NOT IMPRESSED.
I thought your mom would join you lol
You must do at least one on Avril Lavigne. I suggest Complicated. I think she might like these type of funny videos from the early 2000s from bands like Blink 182.
Rock Show
If she does, it might be worth doing The Offspring again. ‘Original Prankster’ is a highlight of those types of videos imo.
Fuck yeah blink rocks
Yeah man, all we need Avril in our lifes
Yesssss great idea : D
sum41 always felt like a revival of that feels good 'kids taking over' kind of theme. Like new radicials, you only get what you give, and len, steal my sunshine, back in the later 90s.
First time I've seen you guys... just watchin dad's gitty smile as he is reliving the days of bumping this all the time. Oddly matched my own smile as I watch this.
I didn't catch the "we laugh when old people fall" line until now. Thank you.
Ha! You did it again! I’m actually one of the poor punk kids in the video lol.
It Came from the Sky fake
Which one
That’s awesome!
I'm shocked that she didn't know who Avril Lavigne is... That makes me feel so old
She’s 14, not 24.
I’m 15 and I know all of these
Im 21 and Felt old
Lol, yep, that was surprising to me too.
Lol avril lavigne seriously??🤣😉un ex?fucking NOFX rule this time and for ever in skatecore
Remember NOFX
Seriously, you guys are the best. Your daughter is wonderful and I love the reactions!!!
Well good ;) I like the genuine love you guys have with this tune. Grew up with sum 41, and I still go to their shows :) great stuff!
I like how he's just bobbing his head lol
Iykyk
Such a Sum41 Fan! This is the essence of the band at that time. I would have suggested showing Still Waiting and In Too Deep as that trio really give you the vibe and sprit of it all! Prefer this to the new stuff. Late 90's/2000 punk/pop punk.
How about a little Basket Case reaction?
More to come with them, nice suggestion on Basket Case as well.
Man.... You took me back to my high school days! For that, you have earned me as a viewer.
Subscribed for teaching me about the story and meaning behind the song and video it was really cool and informative :)
When my mom has me listen to what she liked as a teen, it's the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, stuff I ended up loving because they're all timeless. I think if I ever have kids, it's going to wildly different like this 😂 but they might run away lol
This album was the soundtrack to my summer after graduation. NOSTALGIA ATTACK.
Wowww the nostalgia I’m feeling right now! Love it
Subscribed! Keeping music flowing into the next generation! Great reaction! haha
Lmao when you see that kid with the 2 chicks: "he's a stud man". Used to think that kid was dope. This was a fun watch.
Daughter: Great...dad can i go back to looking at my cellphone lol
Dad: Hold on, just one more for nostalgia's sake.
Daughter: mom.
I'm loving these reactions, love seeing kids experience my childhood songs
Awesome dude love you are showing your kids these rock punk classics
Well now you have to do Avril Lavigne. She has so many good songs. Maybe, When your gone or Happy Ending. Complicated is really fun too.
Eve Matice Skater Boy. 😁
Yes "losing Grip" one of them, please do Avril, she is so importent for the Girls like your daughter. ruclips.net/video/LOcKckBLouM/видео.html
she did heroine
Maybe is a good choice, I prefer I'm with you.
Girlfriend or whatever that was. Hey hey you you I don't like your girlfriend
I'm 14 and I practically got myself into this music (my parents did get me into classic rock and stuff but then I started getting into my own music so ye there's that if that gives anyone hope.
The amount of love in these vids is amazing, good old wholesome content
I got goosebumps watching this!! 👏🏼 This song was EVERYTHING when it came out in 2001. I remember buying the All Killer No Filler album. Endless summers, skating all day.. Now I'm a 33 year old father of 2 young boys. This is an awesome video. I look forward to sharing music with my boys when they're older. Cheers! Brendan, N.Ireland.
@Glitch - I'm a new subscriber to your channel. What age are you, as a matter of interest?
@@brendanfisher the funny thing is that i.. 2 years older than you and didn't listen to this (i was i harder rock/metal) kinda get that to.. this played endlessly on the local music tv station during the nights. remember allot of nights when i got home just hammered after partying and this was on the tv
Blues Traveler Hook, either one of your kids would probably like that one
You should listen to sum41 all to blame it’s a good song
This is the most pure reaction video I've ever seen. My heart is so happy
This is great!!! Grew up listening to this band, every song on that album is awesome! Sharing it with the younger generation
7:52 this guy looks like producer from the clip "still waiting"
-the sums?
-its great!
Will Sasso is that guys name :)
I mean I’m only 3 years older than her but even I know this is just a golden tune.
Love the line "maiden and priest were the gods that we prayed" that was me all over.
Just seen them live a few days ago for the first time! And its was awesome! Felt like I was 10 again listening to my favorite band but live ! A time I'll never forget
Not one bit of being interested at all she’s like “yeah who cares”. “Can I leave”.
If I may request for New Found Glory - “All Downhill from Here”. I think she’d like the video.
YES,YES,YES!!!!
Yes! Yes!
@@tannerrichardson9596 Yes, most definitely!!!!
NFG is always the band that I remember the song, and then kick myself because for whatever reason can never remember the band name no matter how hard I try, and then a week later it hits me in the middle of a conversation, and I'm instantly happy!
No do "My Friends Over You"
15 year old me LOVED this song! At 33 I honestly still love it though lol. I miss prime blink 182, sum 41, new found glory, etc. days. Those were the best.
Absolutely Fantastic Live, Highly Recommend!
Need to do Bowling For Soup - 1985 with Annie
Still waiting for a Coheed and Cambria reaction. I think you both would enjoy them.
Greetings from Argentina. Congratulations man! That's real education for your kids! I do the same with my nephews.
I’ve been waiting half my life for this... been trying to get reaction from my friends for years on Sum 41
I just came up with another since I listened to it yesterday. "MeatLoaf-I'd Do Anything For Love(But I wont Do That)"
Oh YES!!! 🤘🤘
Especially because she liked Nightwish also, that might be one she digs!!
Oh nice suggestion! I dig Meatloaf.
@@GlitchintheMatrixMultiMedia I've actually met the woman who REALLY sang on the record - Lorraine Crosby, aka "Mrs Loud". Lovely lady, incredible voice.
Well now we need an Avril reaction.
Lol, I'm on it
So cool that they are still playing, and their recent album is actually pretty dope. Be sure to react to their latest singles!
Haha, was hoping you would have tried this out! When I saw your solo reaction, I couldn't wait to see what your kids would think of this gem!
I feel old as F, I'm jammin out to this like the dad full grin and all, while kid's just like ...eh it's alright. lol
You need to do a reaction of her on Zebrahead-Get Back
Great reaction but I subscribed when you were explaining all that cool knowledge about the song's origin and details about the music video. As a long-time fan of Sum 41 I love it!
Dude, I can see the kid in you in your eyes when watching this man. So cool.
She needs to hear Green Day!!!! Maybe Holiday or American Idiot first.
no.... Basket Case first 😍
P Master Jesus of Suburbia
@@gabidemagic Maybe a little dated for someone her age I guess.
@@lofer9138 good choice but wont it be too long for introductory song?
Hiya, how about some Evanescense. I think Annie looks like a young Amy Lee.
Love your daughters face when the girl in the music video got the electric head shave! 😁
I love the selection of music you play... we share the same taste, and likely much past experiences even though in seperate parts of the World.
All the best from Denmark! ☺
This just makes me want to cry because I miss those days. 😭 I know exactly what the dad is saying, thinking and feeling. Sum 41 was so good live back in those days. Even before these times when they used to rob pizza shops with squirt guns and dance in parking lots with a boombox.
Dude, you’re old like me!....our kids don’t know who Avril Lavigne is! Lol
Im 16 and most people my age have no clue about all this
Let's spread the word, this video and song is EPIC and I think stands the test of time. I hope you enjoyed this one.
true! i’m 18 and i grew up with a lot of these songs, but maybe it’s like our own lil lesser known self indulgence

Or not.

Oh my God seeing you grin ear to ear listening to this song you love had ME grinning ear to ear
Love watching. If you do 3 today I will watch. It's like I am watching myself. The way you watch I can feel all those sentimental feelings....It's so fun..... LOVE the history. Annie - remember "breath mints". 🍺🚭🔞⛔
dude i wanna go back in time.. that was a banger time and it was awesome!
Hell yeah guys!!!! Those were the days xxxx
7:56 she's totally lying. It doesn't seem like her thing. Lol
And his dad trying to put her more into it. Now i understand my dad...
She totally lied 🤣 she's not listening to that
yeahhh I really hope he's not kidding himself thinking a tiktok teen is gonna be into something that's from an Era that's too recent to be vintage yet too old to be on trend in any way at all. Stick with vintage 60's-80's stuff and how about you react to some TikToks she likes? Then when she's 18 or so, the 2000's might be retro and some elements of it will resurface around then
React to incubus wish you were here
Yes that would be amazing
Yes I agree. With the daughter.
That whole album was amazi
I'm 20 years old now and I remember playing this at a talent show for my school with my old friends.
