    Before I got married in 1994 my best friend took me on a girls trip to Chicago. We stumbled into the China Club not even really knowing where we were or that it was a pretty infamous venue. The cranberries were playing. Probably one of the most epic live shows Ive ever seen.

      Creator yeah but your still from Ireland. You cant be Irish from another place but Ireland even if you also have another nationality in you or live somewhere else

      @@Richardson_mma If your parents are Irish you have automatic Irish citizenship, wherever you live or were born. If you're born in Ireland but your parents are not Irish, you are not automatically an Irish citizen. I think I know what you mean though.

    I was so lucky to see The Cranberries at The Royal Albert Hall in London in 1995 and rate it as one of the best gigs that I have ever seen for sheer energy. Bless your heart Dolores, you were taken too soon. xxx

    I was so fortunate to see the Cranberries live in an outdoor venue at Molson Amphitheater in Toronto in August 1996. Always have been and will always be a massive fan of Delores.

    1916 isn’t just some vague reference to how long the violence went on. It’s a specific reference to the year of the Irish Easter Rising, a rebellion to end British rule of the country.

    There were two attacks by the IRA in Warrington (Cheshire), one on an industrial complex in the middle of the night and the other in the town centre, the following afternoon. The two children murdered in the second attack were Jonathan Ball and Tim Perry. Two young souls, RIP

    Her voice is fantastic, she sings in a particular irish style of singing called keening. It sounds very cool in a rock music setting

    I've got a 14 year old girl in UK who has cranberries album on vinyl we went record shopping when she got her record player last year and she asked for it never even exposed her to them myself even although I loved them in my late teenage years. she heard Zombie on Derry Girls Channel 4 comedy .     Wow.. this song brings a a lot of memories.. 10 years ago I attended a Cranberries concert in my home city and was incredible.. they "closed" with this song (17 songs) and the encore were 4 more songs (for a 21 songs setlist).. closing with Dreams.. Thanks for the reaction, this version was great, see you guys in the next one!!

    My sister, born in 1985, loved this song and band when she was 14 years old too. The Cranberries was probably one of her first bands she really loved. This kind of music transcends generations and I’m so here for it. Cheers to you and Annie!

      I have several kids. I'm sure when they were that age they thought I was very annoying also. I have been pushing my music on them since the time they were born. Now that they are all in their twenties, I do hear them playing that same music that I love and appreciating it. It makes it all worthwhile!

    David Archbold I was so lucky to have seen the Cranberries live. I saw them at Murayfield it was an all day festival,the band were backing REM. I hadn't heard much of the Cranberries and wasn't expecting much but they came on blew my mind away. Delores's voice was so mercurial her voice could be so powerful and yet at times so serene. The set was packed with brilliant songs such as Zombie,Linger and Dreams they were so close to blowing REM off the stage. There will never be another Delores, RIP Delores 💔

    With songs people usually have thoughts or feelings attached to them, for me this takes me back to when I was a child, riding in my dads truck driving out in the country. So like you guys I also get chills too as my father passed away 5 years ago and this is a memory that I will never forget because of this song.

    "I got chills!", don't worry Annie she has that effect on a lot of us. I'm an old school "Dad" rock kinda guy, seeing as i was in my teens in the early '70s, I was listening to Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Queen, Aerosmith, ZZ Top and the like as they released their albums. The Cranberries and other groups from the '90s and newer have songs that just hit a nerve now and then.

    I love this song as well. As an American with Irish ancestry, It really gets me in the feels...the 1916 line is a call back to the 1916 Easter Rising which basically started the modern Irish Independence movement

    True Story: A couple weeks ago, I had left work having a horrible day. I put my random playlist on and the song "Empty " by the Cranberries was playing. Literally I began to start tearing up, but was able to fight it off.     The cranberries were absolutely amazing, she had such a beautiful voice and I was so sad when she passed away in such a way. They will live on forever!

    That's so cool, that would be nice to have her reacting to some ladies lead singers, Dolores was one of my fav back in my 15...
    Garbage was (and still) my fav band, have she head it before?

    For some reason this song seems to resonate with teenagers even now, as I have explained to my nieces and nephews, it sounds cool, but look into what the song is about and learn from it.
