What is going on my Full Throttle Fam! I have been wanting to make this video for quite some time now. Finally I got around to installing these Shinko 705 dual sport tires on my 2018 crf450r. Huge thanks to @trav_the_sav for sending these tires to me for free, honestly don't know anybody else as motivational and that is such an important figure in the entire BikeLife scene.
These tires were NOT easy to get on but they look awesome now and after riding on these two times I can say they are a game changer when street riding or doing wheelies! I absolutely love them. I forgot to mention in the video but I still have the original stock crf450r wheels that came with my bike that have motocross tires on them, so now I have the option to quickly switch wheels for street or off-road!

Thanks for putting this video up, going to order some Shinko 705's for my CRF300L. Nice views too.
nice man...one tip tho...never tighten the valve nut against the rim but rather against the valve plastic cap so if the tire slides on the rim you will not tear your valve instantly but rather see your valve sitting at an angle and it gives you an additional chance to adjust it before getting a flat far from home.

Yep, don't put the nut on and tighten against the rim, that can cause the valve stem to tear. Lost a few tubes by using the nut.
That don’t work 😂.. I’ve done both for years .. tighten the valve stem up to the rim people .. the valve stem won’t move if you have a good rim lock and the correct tire pressure
@@mikga45if your airing down for the track .. then loosen the valve stem nut a little but don’t make it lose to the point where it hits the valve stem cap .. I lost over 10 tubes doing it that way and with the rubber grommets
Sick setup I’m still workin on my wheelies scariest part is dropping back to that balance point which I can’t seem to master 😆
Yeah man I'm still a beginner but once you can hit that balance point you will be able to wheelie way longer

hey im trying to buy some street tires for my dirtbike {... front is 70/100 -17 and back wheel is 90/100 -14 ....}my question is when im searching for it i cant find the exact size, so when buying it should i just worry about the rim diameter because its not counting the spikes/bumps on the bike ? is that why the numbers dont match

You need Motion Pro bead buddy and wheel savers man. Makes it easier and keeps you from scratching up the rims.

Looking good.I have a 2004 yz 450f I just found the front street tire size for it.Im wondering if the rear tire size is for a front tire. I cant find it for the rear is the rear wheel a front tire?
Thanks a lot. No it will be listed as a rear tire, you want a 110/80-19 if u can fond that. Has to be a 19in for that bike.

Sick video man ,,just a quick question,I bought a set of second hand sumo wheels for the Cr but the axels are to big for the spacers of the normal wheels because the wheels came of a Xr650,,did you you have to make the spacers or can you buy them somewhere?,cheers
The warp9 supermoto wheels I got for my CR250 accept the original oem spacers that come with the cr250. If u can order oem honda parts where you live i would but those if not I’m sure a machine shop could make u some. Good luck!

What size did you get for the front and back?
Would a 120/80-18 work on the rear of a WR450F? stock rim is an 18 inches and that seems to be the only size offered for that size diameter rim

Hello my friend. Your advise is unbelievable value for me because in my country vulcanizer say that there is no such tire!!! But i ve seen your video and i happen to own a crf 250 r! So i sick want to install a street tire at least on the rear ( 100 90- 19) but they say that they dont know something that fits it. You can get front and rear Shinko 705 tires those will fit directly on your wheels from that bike. No need to buy new rims. Merry Christmas man hope it all works out!

It rides real smooth man I don't notice it at all.
Always use soapy water when changing tires.
Real tire lube is the best but soap and water will do the trick!

It is the rim lock! It holds the tire to the rim and keeps it from slipping 👍🏼 we use them on all dirtbikes

That's the rim lock. It's so the rim doesn't rotate in the tyre.

Yes a supermoto uses 17in wheels

Are bikes, parts and accessories relatively easy to get where you live?
I import almost all the parts I use from USA into Mexico
i have a shinko on the front and a dunlop on the rear. 1.6x19 and 2.15x18. the fronts arent bad but the rear is an absolute fuckin nightmare. The very first time ever putting the tires on the rim i popped the tube and had to do it all over again.. went about a year before i got a flat. remembered what a nighmare it was.. popped the tube again THREE TIMES getting the tire on the rim.. and this is with me being as absolutely carewful as i possibly could be.. finally got the tire on with a new tube and rode to work the next day and on the way home from work that day i got ANOTHER FLAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. had to do it all AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!.. installed a new tube and a new tire of the exact same model. havent had a flat since and its been like 2 years.. next time i have to change a rear tire im just selling the bike. lol. several day long nightmare. destroying the rims. runing tubes with those ridiculous tire spoons... every other bike ive ever had before or after that it was NEVER this hard to change a tube. Ive been riding dirtbikes since i was a kid and ive changed a million tubes. but those street tires are a mother fucker. stiffer than shit and BARELY fit over the rim. doing it by hand is a bitch and a half.
finally figured out a trick though with stiff tires that use tubes.. semi fill up your tube before mounting the second half of the tire. it will inflate slightly and pull itself away from the edge of the tire where it can get pinched in between the rim and spoon. Once i figured that out i never pinched another tube with the spoons. (knock on wood)..

My front was the same but my rear was a 120 I think or 110 for sure

@@Jason-rw8yc I ended up going with a front Shinko size 90/90-21 and on the back I got a Kenda size 100/90-19
I went with kenda rear tire because it had a cool diamond tread pattern

What do you prefer? The super moto setup or these tires on stock wheels? Care to elaborate on the differences and what to expect? I have a 2018 yz450f I have track road since 2018 now and I’m looking to make a street setup. I have a feeling I need super moto setup but dang switching tires is so much cheaper.
I have to say these skinny tires are way more fun for just ripping around on the streets some and wheelies are so much easier than the sumo setup. I definitely recommend giving them a try and saving the money! They WILL NOT perform like sumo tires on the corners though you know that. Good luck man.

Make sure you run both the front and rear at 15 psi and you will love it
Seriously!? The tires said not to run any less than 22 psi so that’s what I have been using. Is 15 better for wheelies?
@@FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ yes it makes it so you stay in control of the bike and when you get better you can swerve them really deep
also when there new like that ive notice when there new when you slam on the rear brakes you slide with them that low they grab and stop you.

All you need is the dual sport tires. Then you are street legal. If you get stopped by a cop, tell them some dude in the youtube comment section said it was okay.
