Jab to the body so many times that when he faints it, Strickland tries to block it leaving his jaw wide open for the left hook. Simple technique drilled into oblivion...perfect execution.
Sean actually DID see it coming technically, he literally said he knows that is how he sets up his power left hooks before the fight happened, and that his ego got the best of him making him think he could take Pereira in stand up. That is why Pereira is so good, everyone knows that is what he is setting up to do, but unless you're on his level, you can't really stop it. Hes been knocking people out like this in KB for years, EVERYONE knows its coming.
What's also impressive about Pereira other than his power, is his accuracy. The shot that dropped Strickland was right on the button, then the followup with Strickland moving back and getting to his feet was still precisely on target.
I feel like Izzy and Alex are way more closely matched than people realize but the power difference is a lot I mean Izzy has power to a degree when he swings with full speed but Alex has the touch of death and Izzy has to be a lot more technical to make up for the power, I donno if its the level of competition but Alex a lot of times seems to be better at programming his opponents and setting a trap for a power shot while Izzy just neutralizes them, Izzy obviously knows how to set up power shots(like how he programmed Costa to be worried about the left jab and downloaded the data that Costa moves his head and brings his hands up and used that to feint a Jab right in to a head kick) but in the last 2 or 3 fights he hasn't been able to do that.
I think none of them will brawl, but I see Alex trying to be more aggressive because he doesn’t have anything to lose, given that he just arrived at UFC. If he loses it won’t be near as bad as if Izzy loses. I see a more aggressive Pereira.
If I were forced to predict their MMA fight, I'd imagine it will go much like their 2nd kickboxing fight. Israel will not be able to circle>jab>leg kick>rotate 30 degrees and repeat like he has done against Romero and Cannonier. Alex will give chase and land the harder shots. What a way to hype everyone up especially at the press conference and displaying absolute worse showing of a fighter.
What a waste literally!!
I mean, what did you expect? Strickland, while tough and crafty, is not even in the same universe as a striker. Plus his makeshift Philly shell and squared stance is probably one of the worst "builds" you can have against a world champion kickboxer.
That setup was beautiful! Made Sean Strickland think he was coming for the body again but quickly leveled changed and hooked him right on the chin.
Not really. Straight from the begining was the same variation, body shot then to the head. He just hit that last one harder and from a diff angle
@@leop849 if you watch it at .25 speed you can clearly see that it was a hook from the beginning, but you’ll also see Sean drop his hand to defend what he thought was going to be a body shot. Leaving his head exposed for the KO. I would say your right about it not level changing from the release of the punch though 👍
Sean showed up to bang and lost to one of the best kickboxers ever Respect 🔥🔥
No he came up to stand like a fool and touch a lil
He got clapped
Was a ridiculous gameplan to fight Alex with this style. Made me think he was paid to lose. He was fighting like it was a glorified spar. Alex had no respect for his stand up.
I don't know why people says he is one of the best kickboxers ever. He is good, hes got a quite a few losses in kickboxing as well tho. He got famous because of Izzy success for the moment.
@@deivigarciape Exactly. Izzy's haters will make up anything to hype up a new contender xD Even if you look at their record, Izzy has a far more impressive kickboxing record than Alex but whatever. Let Adesanya prove them wrong for the 6th time in a row, maybe then they'll finally understand the message
@@deivigarciape bruh he literally takes souls lol what are you talking about he also has many wins over many respected kickboxers if you want him to be perfect and undefeated well that's something else
