sync 3 APIM went out in my wife's mustang ecoboost. I took it apart and found the capacitors were swelled up. I replaced the capacitors for $10 and it's working.
How does the screen connect to the sync 3 APIM without being connected to the plug in the center of the back of the screen? How do you connect those two pieces?
Hey Jesse, do you think it would be possible to install a SYNC3 APIM to a Ford transit 2020 without SYNC 3 installed? I was looking to install the APIM and head display so I could hook up a reverse parking camera
I have had the same issue with 2018 F150 platinum. Because of this, I will never buy another Ford product. They do not support vehicles when they have defective parts. Was replaced what’s under extended warranty 20,000 miles later save issue just out of warranty they were $1500 to look at it it’s a Ford defect should be extended warranty for lifetime.
Yeah it's frustrating. If you want to reach out to the guy that sent my replacement here's his info on Ebay. He was great. He did the work same day because we were leaving on vacation the next week. He also had it updated to the very latest software. @@jessebaumgartner - was the programming to update to the latest version of SYNCH or to program it for tour specific vehicle? Did you need to supply your VIN?
They have an APIM recall on certain models but to the best of my knowledge the latest vehicle are 2015 models. I agree they have a reliability issue with the printed circuit board shop that produces the APIM.

Did your front ac work at all(front) after your apim crashed?
