I love when you said, 'Think plants'. When I show my friends new items I ask them what I'm going to do with it and they know me so well and reply, 'Put plants in it!!!'... lol I have a magazine rack, wine rack, suitcase, commode chair, pieces of bark and so many other things to plant up, I love it!!!😄😄😄😄 I'll an collecting drift wood next week, so many more ideas to come..😄😄😄
You inspire me so much, that I pretty much walk into any store and think "oh, I could turn this into a planter" or "oh, that would look really pretty with my sedum"
Those are beautiful! What a great gift idea! I love the slants..I think the plants look great planted on the angle, very attractive pattern. First time I've seen a small vertical plant hanger like these, I've only seen the giant wall size. Thanks for showing us this great idea! Perfect size for the house, so many possibilities!
I have to say I'm really impressed. You took something I would never have thought could be a planter and made it into something amazing. And for VERY little money. It looks like it should cost $50 bucks. Wow, gorgeous.
Laura, perfect timing - we were just given a wine gift box and I was wondering what to do with it once we drink the wine. I have some succulents left over too, from my succulent garden bed makeover. Just filmed it today, BTW, will be posted on my channel soon. My garden bed looks GREAT - thanks for all your ideas!
The succulents look absolutely AMAZING in the wine box planter :-) thanks so much for sharing Laura and sending an abundance of love and happiness from Ireland XXXX
Hi Anne :-) so wonderful to hear that you are from Ireland too :-) I am living in Waterford :-) I know we wouldn't see snow like that here haha :-) I love Laura's snow videos :-) Sending you loads of love and happiness from Waterford XXXX
Hi Laura your videos are truly inspiring. I am about to set up workshops at my home studio in the seaside town of Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula Victoria Australia. I love your passion, this is my passion Thanks soooo much Kristen xx
Very Cute ! I'm getting so I don't like conventional containers. Also getting kinda like what comes first, the chicken or the egg, or the plant or the container! When you find the right plant for the right container or vice versa, it's beauty!! So much fun! You are excellent at it !! Aren't you thankful you're creative ?? !!! Life would be so boring if you weren't ! !
You just answered my question. What do I do with my planter of succulents in the winter. I live in Colorado so I will bring the planter in. I am checking out your source. Home Depot had succulent pavers last year in all colors of baby plants. This year the pavers were not very exciting. They were only $20 for the whole flat which was about a 12x12. I am going to keep looking.
Hi, I really love your succulent projects. I am a new gardener and like to do some small projects for indoor decoration. But I am a beginner and not familiar with tools. what type of drill you use? Seems that you use the same drill for all kinds of holes? Thanks!
Can,t you just pack the moss inside the side and seal it the plastic and glue a burlap to cover the plastic . Then plant your cacti and you can offer it as a gift with the champagne inside and a burlap bow on top with a little cactus on top. In my mind it would be great because I am a card and 3D project designer. I also do projects covered with material. You inspired me a lot, thank you for this Laura
love this idea! soo funny your cat pulled it out. i get soo upset when my cats pull my aloe out too. This poor little strain (i thought maybe was a kind of palm) my cat pulled it out soo many times it finally died when i couldn't find it for a few days. ;(
i tried going to your succulent source but it is not showing anything, I cannot reach the online store.you said succulent source.com... is that correct? please reply. I live inGuam and I really wanted to have succlent collections.
Wouldn't the soil get mouldy because of lack of air ventilation? I mean, I would love to do projects like this, but I am afraid, that the soild would not have enough air this way
Why do you put plastic in the box? I just bought a hanging succulent and it was in one of those tan moss rod iron hangers. I noticed that the succulent was in a separate plastic pot inside the basket and the basket was also lined with plastic. Being an extremely new succulent mommy, I ripped the plastic off the tan moss basket inlay and used regular potting soil (miracle grow) and planted the succulent right in the tan fabric mossy looking basket. I am going to go purchase cactus soil today, but my question is, how do I pot it in this hanging device, I'm worried the fabric tan mossy looking thing is going to stay to moist to directly plant the succulent in and will I need to poke holes in it????
Weird thing is, I have tried several times to place an order with the Succulent Source and it always says "offline right now" and so I have gone shopping elsewhere rather than keep trying. Pity, because it is a loss of business for them, and I do not quite understand what the problem was.
