Japan's Takagi Miho smashes the Olympic record in the women's 1000m speed skating with a time of 1 minute 13.19 seconds to take home gold over half a second faster than her competitors. Jutta Leerdam earns the silver for the Netherlands and American Brittany Bowe achieves the bronze medal at the National Speed Skating Oval.

Did her performance deserve to win? Nope yet. Too early for an Olympic Gold when there is a Takagi competing. She needs more experience.
