    Did you have to remove the intercooler and pitch mount? Nice vid btw!

    • @zach_lush
      @zach_lush  Год назад +1

      Thanks! I did not remove the intercooler, I can't remember if I unbolted the pitch mount, but honestly I don't believe I did. Removing the bottom 2 engine mounts was enough I believe.

    how did you remove the exhaust manifold to get access to the rest of the bolts i can’t get to one and it looks like i’ll have to remove the engine to get to it. plz halp trying to fix rod knock

    • @zach_lush
      @zach_lush  2 месяца назад

      I actaully did not remove the exhaust manifold. But if you need to remove it, you'll have to remove the exhaust shielding that is on the manifold. Then you can remove it. If you don't, i think it is impossible

      Dealing with the same issue. Have to drop the turbo and headers to access the oil pan bolts. Huge pain in the ass just to access and replace something simple

    Just replaced mine. Did you have to add more oil than usual the first time? My car calls for 4.5qts and I just added 5 and it’s still low. Triple checked the dipstick tube cause I figured it wasn’t all the way in but it is

    • @zach_lush
      @zach_lush  9 месяцев назад

      Honestly i dont remember, but i dont think it was much more than the 4.5 quarts. I do know i messed up with my dipstick and leaked a bit out, but nothing crazy

    Any issues after 7 months? I am glad to see the pan looks the same as oem. I was looking at a non-oem on amazon and it was significantly cheaper than oem. i like oem usually but this is literally a stamped piece of steel. You didnt happen to weight it ti see if was any lighter than the oem one, didnt? Thanks for the video. Rebuilding my EJ and I have to clean out the debris from a rod knock so a new pan would would make my life easier than cleaning.

    • @zach_lush
      @zach_lush  10 месяцев назад +1

      Nope, no issues on the car. I would probably get another one if i had too. Well thats just it, its stamped steel which is nothing special. No, i never weighed it but i would say they are similar in weight. Ouuu, yeah anything that involves oil and has potential with debris in it i would just replace. Not worth losing brand new bearings after trying to save a couple of bucks.

    Replacing mine soon, is there a reason not to use the solid gasket instead or is gasket maker just a preference thing?

    • @zach_lush
      @zach_lush  8 месяцев назад

      The only time I've seen someone use a solid gasket is on an IAG oil pan. Never seen someone use one on an OEM pan.

    what did you spray under the motor on day 2 of the replacement?

    • @zach_lush
      @zach_lush  Год назад +1

      Like brake clean? I sprayed it after I cleaned off the gasket to make sure I had a clean mating surface.

    Slight issue I did everything in this video everything went somewhat smooth but once I went to drop the trans the engine mount right side bolt did not line up but the driver side did so now in stuck at getting it to line up any tips?

    • @zach_lush
      @zach_lush  4 месяца назад +1

      Hmm, i didn't have this issue. If your still struggling with it I would probably call a buddy over and have some extra muscle to help guide the engine in place. If that still doesnt work maybe something in the engine bay is forcing the engine over? Good luck!
