    If anyone’s wondering how long or how difficult it is, on a 2004 wrx 2.0L with a hoist with no prior experience I would estimate 2-3hrs, with a bit of experience 1.5-2hrs. On the ground I’d say expect 3hrs, not as difficult as some make it seem. I was scared to attempt it, but this video is exactly how it went. Huge help!! Very happy with the results:)

    Just installed the Black Competition Version on my 05 STI. Quality is superb and car seems to run smoother with the thicker pickup tube, extra baffling, and greater oil capacity. Install wasn’t nearly as difficult as some people made it out to be. Patience and the proper tools will get the job done. 10 out of 10 product and well worth the money. Now I can go to the track without worrying about oil starvation, lol. Thanks IAG 🙏🏾

      Car seems to run smoother? An oil pan and pickup wouldn't make a noticable difference in regular driving unless something was wildly wrong with your stock setup to begin with

    • @builtvisions
      @builtvisions 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@VS666 I literally said that “it seems” to run smoother because it’s a thicker pick up tube. That’s literally all, lol. Nothing wrong with my old oil pan other than it beginning to rust a little. Had to get a new oil pan anyway and figured I’d take a shot at IAG. It’s a great product nonetheless. Take it for what you will 🤷🏾‍♂️

    Can I ask about the shape of this pan? I thought the whole point of the stock oil pan shape is to make a tubbed version and keep the oil right next to the pickup. In that case, the stock OEM EJ oil pan is already quite good in design to prevent oil starvation. The IAG pan looks flatter, where oil can slosh around at higher lateral G force. Can you comment on this shape differences? thanks. I will probably stay with my reliable OEM STI pan, it hasn't caused any catastrophic failures for the 50k miles I've driven across two different STIs during my ownership.

    • @Owensti
      @Owensti 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I’ve seen tons of people use there stock ej20-ej25 oil pans, the main concern is the pick up tube cracking or failing after a certain amount of miles. I do know for a fact the killer bee and even iag pans are completely different in size and shape. Even the baffle ks different I’ve always wondered if the shape of the pan was a contributing factor on why the pick up tube starves of oil. Good question

    Will these fit on an STi with the TBW undergaurd?

    • @theiagchannel
      @theiagchannel  10 месяцев назад +1

      It will be a close fit, this pan does sit about 1-1.5in lower than the OEM so I would recommend checking the clearances first!

    • @lucian7182
      @lucian7182 10 месяцев назад

      Either use spacers or get the tbw for the iag pan, it’s .5 in lower

      While we haven't confirmed fitment, we believe there may be some contact on the 2.5rs at the subframe.

    I'll be picking up one of these oil pans in the near future, specifically due to the oil control & extra capacity.
    Also, whomever is making the music louder than the person/people speaking..... Please stop. It is highly annoying and completely unnecessary.

    With the current age of these cars this is like putting a bandaid on a shotgun wound. Great looking product though hopefully someone can actually put it through its paces and document it. I know there's been some extensive testing with the new 86 and the baffled oil pans aren't making much of a difference

    • @theiagchannel
      @theiagchannel  10 месяцев назад

      We have conducted extensive real-world testing of our EJ baffles and pickups to ensure their effectiveness. Our products undergo rigorous engineering development before being released. Currently, we are working on a superior baffle option for the GR86/22+ BRZ platforms, but the development process will take some time.

      If there is enough interest in a baffled oil pan for the VB I’m sure we could get something in the pipeline.

    • @MrGsxrme
      @MrGsxrme 10 месяцев назад

      @@theiagchannelif you make it, they will buy it. Figure all and I mean all FA24 owners need to drop the pan to fix the RTV issue, it would fantastic to have a billet baffled pan to install during this process. I do understand the oil capacity may not increase with the header/manifold design for both fa20/FA24 but that's not the main focus. Added benefit of an IAG pan would be heat displacement and proper oil baffling.
