    thank you. I have a dome foundation brush that is tricky to use as a beginner and my makeup sponge got old and nasty so I am learning to use the last bit of my foundation stick with the brush.

      If you only have a bit of your foundation left, you can take it our with a clean spoon or knife (be careful) and fill it into a clean, larger container/packaging, this way you may be able to get the foundation a bit more even on the foundation brush and then apply it to your face :)

    Great video. Do you like that stick foundation for everyday or just pictures/video? I'm curious, does that powder brush hurt your face when you stipple it? I bought that Real Techniques brush years ago, and its very prickly; it hurts to apply powder with it on my face, so I just use it on my neck and chest. I use a Real Techniques Powder brush but it's from their Powder Bleu line, which tries to mimic squirrel hair while remaining synthetic. It's an awesome powder brush: soft, large, slightly floppy. :)

      Hey Liz😊
      Thank you🥰
      It really depends on how my skin behaves and how many breakouts I have haha😅colorwise, the Dermacolor by Kryolan is by far the best foundation cream I've tried but I also love using cream foundation in general when I'm not filming but I'm keeping it very light, like really not using a lot and blending it evenly into the skin.
      But I also like to use foundations or BB/CC creams (I currently love using BB creams) especially when my skin isn't breaking out and I'm having a pretty good skin day, to keep it even lighter!
      I don't know about you, but I sometimes switch from one product (that I've used for some time) to another and then going back and forth😅
      The powder brush doesn't hurt my skin, I feel like it's a pretty soft powder brush that I can use without a problem😊
      I know that feeling that you are talking about, but I just have it with one that has natural hair, so that's why I prefer the RT over the natural hair powder brush.
      I've never tried their ''blue'' line but as long as it feels good on the skin, this is what counts! I do believe that everyone has different ''feeling'' based on how something feels on the skin 😊

      @@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet interesting. Real techniques hasn't been very consistent in quality over the years. It has changed many times. I have some sponges from them that are perfect and others that dont expand when I wet them in the sink at all. I've bought the same brush twice in a row and gotten different fibers in them, some softer some rougher. Hopefully they have fixed that for 2020

      I love using Zoeva brushes in general. I used their 104 Buffer Brush.

    Question 🙂, do you condition your synthetic brushes in some fashion? I know people do that with their natural hair brushes, but is there something common practice to maintain synthetic brushes?

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  4 года назад +1

      No, I only use a bar of soap to clean them very well and then let them air dry. I've never tried a conditioner for my brushes and I do not see why I should use one😅 Have you tried it?

    This was a perfect tutorial for that is new to make, can I maybe ask a perhaps stupid question , should you apply BB / CC cream before or after foundation ? Or do people either use CC or foundation? 🙈

      Thank you!🥰
      I do not recommend using a foundation + a CC or BB cream as well, this is just going to be too much and heavy😅
      You can mix a bit of your foundation with a BB or CC cream to adjust the shade - I've done that already. Or just use a BB/CC cream on its own or just a foundation😊

      @@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet wow thanks for fast reply ,when you say adjust the shade 😍 so if the one happens to buy a foundation that is too dark is it possible to adjust the shade with a lighter BB/CC? 🙈

    So, you just put the brush on that stick? Kinda gross. This is why I never use the foundation stick. I use the liquid ones with a pump. I wash my hands or use hand sanitizer then put a bit on my fingers and dab it on my face. For me, the less sponges and brushes, the better.

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  2 года назад +2

      It's only gross if you do not wash your brushes...
      There are different foundation formulations on the market (cream, liquid, powder) and several ways of using them. This video focuses on how to use a stick foundation with a brush.
