Her Firebending abilities are so fine tuned and perfected that her flame are so intense that the color of her fire becomes blue. The only others' whose firebending are non-orange are the original firebender dragons and other super powerful spiritual entities. Not even Avatars were ever known able to ever produce blue flames. It's not just the color, it's a meaning of more intense heat, more raw, unadulterated, pure firebending power.
It takes a certain height of extremely high level of mastery of the element, which Azula managed to do at a VERY YOUNG age (6 or 7).... Even her very strict and perfectionist firebending master father said "Azula was born lucky"--due to the fact of her being a master fire bending prodigy, having superior intelligence and almost flawless strategic planning. Btw, she was only 14 when this was all happening...
Things she can do as a Firebender....
    1. only one that reached an ungodly level to produce blue firebending
    2. one of the original ones' with the skills and power to produce lightning attacks (this was a Royal secret power, that only the Firebending Royalties had knowledge of)
    3. can "fly" with her seemingly endless firebending chi-energy
    4. can firebend using her mouth, a skill of extremely high caliber
    5. can shoot fire jets with her feet, a skill only high level firebenders can do
    6. uses her firebending as a shield to block not one, but ALL 3 elements attacking her simultaneously, and by 3 bending masters of the other 3 elements
    7. took over and controlled Ba Sing Se in 3 days, with just 2 people (non-benders at that), that which took the Fire Nation and 2 Firelords over 100 years and was still trying...
    8. She was the most intelligent, most composed (before mental breakdown), best liar (Toph agrees), most cunning
    9. Even in her mental form, she was still so extremely powerful that she had to be harnessed , constrained in a mental jacket and muffled like a dog.
Don't forget, she was ONLY 14 at the time all this was going down. She was only beginning.... her prime had not even begun
Had she won, she would not just inherit the crown to be the new Firelord Azula (her father now being the Phoenix King Ozai), she would also be the 'Fire Nation Princess and Ruler of Ba Sing Se'. Her presence naturally radiates fear which she will take full advantage of. She has the resources to do anything, she would have become so powerful by the times of LOK, that perhaps she would have developed a counter to blood/spirit/metal bending (she is way too calculated). Not even Kuvira would stand a chance.
Final verdict, Azula when she was shown was perhaps already the most powerful character in the whole Avatar universe. She was only 14. Had she kept training and leveling up, she would stay being the most powerful person in the show. It would take some kind of harmonic convergence, Avatar teaming up with some powerful spiritual entity, a group of the most powerful benders type situation to be able to face off a threat like Azula.
If she could not have a redemption arch, then she HAD to be taken off the show because she would be too OP. Nothing would ever beat her and that's the fact. She was too powerful to have around if the show did not intend to redeem her.

Just some constructive criticism, the audio of your narration seems to cut out and is more quiet than the show clips.

Does she deserve it, no. Does she need it, yes.

I think she deserves redemption and needs it. It is consistent with Avatars themes.

Funny thing is I actually found a story where azula goes to a redemption arc from the beginning of the second season; Thanks to the Fire nation version of our favorite knucklehead blonde:

Does she deserve a Redemption Arc? I mean, she is a kid, so yes. But, for me, the real question is whether they can they pull it of in a satisfactory and believable manner?
The thing is that she did some pretty awful things. So, in order to fill truly earned, this arc would need to span many seasons.
Hell, Zuko's character arc spanned 3 seasons and he already started the series more redeemable than Azula ever was during those 3 seasons. I do not think redeeming her is a very achievable goal, nor too satisfactory of a goal for the audience.
Out of practicality, I suggest they keep them a villain. She is already super enjoyable for the audience that way anyway.

It depends whether Bryan and Mike commit to it. I know they are planning content spanning 20 years as implied in one of their interview. Avatar studios plan a lot of content. It is consistent with shows themes. Second chances. Ball is in creators court. Sadly creators left Azulas story inconclusive and never addressed what happens to her by the time of Korra.

It is up to them to expand the story of Azula the way they see fit. But I did see great redemption stories on fanfiction.
