I fixed my MTW 3. My problem was finding a power source. I had one staring at me right in the face. An old battery for a UPS backup case. It had 8 volts on it. I used it to charge my right earbud which stopped working a few days ago. I jump charged it for about 2 minutes. Reassembled it, and put it back in the case. Started charging immediately. After 5 minutes I wanted to check to see if any lights were blinking. The red light was blinking. That was the 1st sign of life. Put it back in the charger and charged it some more. Decided to pair both buds up and test for sound. Paired up with no problem. Connected it to the Smart Control app. Smart Control app showed only 20% charge for the bud I fixed. Before I had only 10% charge, so Im making progress. BTW on the sound test, the buds sounded great, like they were new. Thanks so much for this video. Too bad I didnt try this sooner. Yesterday I ordered a pair of MTW 4 on Amazon.
Thank you so much!! 2 pair (3 earbuds) repaired yesterday based on your video... I had a pair, than one of the earbuds went off, so I got another pair. Yesterday I noticed that the new right side stopped working also, so I googled it and found your video. When I got home, I thought I'd try the method on the old one, but by then both old earbuds were off. So now I have both pair repaired :) Sennheiser should warn all customers with big red letters not to let the buds run down...
Amazing! It does works. But one thing to mention you don’t need to separate the main part. Just took the cover off then you can jump charge from there. Great tips! Thank you!
Wish you made this video sooner. I warranty exchanged my MTW3 four times within a year, and on the last time, I wrote a long letter to Sennheiser saying I gave up on these buds. I asked nicely to exchange them for the Momentum 4 headphones and surprisingly they agreed. I'm considering getting the MTW4 as apparently, they fixed the battery issue.
It worked for me and now my earbuds are working again!!! Thank you very much for this!!! The earbud batteries are not charging up to 100%, they remain around 80% to 70%, but I guess this is another problem. Such a shame that this phones got this huge problem! I enjoy their sound, but this unreliability made me switch to Airpods Pro 2.
This video is awesome but gosh I cannot believe paying so much for ear buds that one has to go thru so much hassle to jump start the battery! Btw how’s the sounds with the AirPod pro 2 ? I am losing faith with sennheiser ear buds. But their MTW4 headphones have been amazing
@@gameslover-vlbabe Also an update: after the Momentum batteries ran out, the problem came back, so apparently it requires a jump start every time the batterie dies. After that I just dropped them for real. Regarding the AirPod Pro 2 sound, I simply love it, but it got better after I turned the embedded iPhone EQ to bright (which is my personal sound preference). I had an issue on the left airpod that was showing some cracking sounds right after it connected to the phone. Went to the Apple Store and they replace it immediately, no questions asked. That's a difference in customer service worth the premium price! :)
@@gameslover-vlbabe agreed. Had the 1 generation too, but it had an issue with the noise cancelling (it had a horrible noise when turning it on). Heard that there was a recall related to that, but unfortunately my coverage had expired at the time I started having problems. Otherwise it worked fine, but I felt that sound quality improved a lot on the 2 generation (but for me the EQ made a huge difference, i think it's under the accessibility setting or a setting nerby).
Thanks to your video I solved it, the right earphone was no longer charging, unlike the video I improvised with a cable to charge the Xiaomi smartband, the contacts matched those of the earphone battery so I tried, the first test failed by heating the battery but it continued not to charge and work. On the second attempt I noticed some small shocks and I feared I had reversed the polarity so I tried again by reversing the side and after this attempt the earphone started charging correctly again, thank you very much, you were a great help 😉🙏👏💪❤
Guys this really helps! Just be very careful and do what it says. Then plug the case and put the buds in it and wait. Also, Uninstal sennheiser app on your mobile or whatever and connect the buds! I tried everything and it helped. btw my first song when i got back the buds was Oasis - champagne supernova ❤😂
Great video, i love the fact that you are explaining what's happening, not only showing what you do. My question is : did you have to re glue the case back somehow for it to hold together when putting it in/out of the ear?
I've been through 4 of those Sennheiser mtw3 earbuds & they all had a earbud that died on me like months after having them. It was a fatal flaw in the mtw3 models. It's a shame
Thanks, I did it also and it works well to recover the battery but unfortunately I have no more sound on this earbud and I don't understand why...I tried the reset to factory but it doesn't change anything !!😩 Can you help me ?
Is it possible to reset the voltage using croco wires on the case and pin the output directly to the both embedded pins without opening the bud ? Just to force the voltage to be up again ? I would like to avoid to open the bud Thanks!
It didnt work for my left earbud…the battery charge is at 0.2 volt which probably means its broken, cannot jumpstart it anymore. If I try with the method you demonstrate here, then the box goes blinking red after 2 secs which means short circuit or battery broken. I would also advise against removing the battery completely like demonstrated here, just remove the cover only and maybe the little connector and try it that way. Other people here commented the same.
@@GauravSharma-x9u Sadly yes... it could charge normally for a few weeks but the same issue came up again. The battery in the right earbud is just cooked and depletes on its own even in the case. I ended up sending them back on warranty to get them replaced and they're sending the newer MTW4 which apparently doesn't have this battery issue.
Hello, any help here. Right one woke up with 2.7V but Left one still at 3.10 V and doesnt up or down voltage but doesnt wake up as well... Thanks in advance.
Tried this several times but just not working for me. The buds just not taking any charge at all. Its my second pair so theyre going straight in the bin.
Any advice on Sennheiser Momentum TW2 wireless headphone, left ear bud only works when in an elevator or on a plane, or if my phone is 5cm away from it, some sort of interference issue? Any help would be amazing
It's insane how many people have this issue. I bought a pair and this happened after a year, got warranty replacement and the new ones died now exactly the same way adter another year. So when I have 2 pairs, after 6 mths, the second pair went dead as well. So I did another warranty exchange. Then after another few mths, both pairs having same issue!!! The battery just won’t charge and no longer seeing green light after hours of charging. I was so fed up with going to sennheiser to & fro, banging table and demanding an answer. The inside staff informed MTW3 confirmed having lots of issues globally, so I would strongly advise - do not get this series. MTW4 I gotten so far after 6 mths still good, hopefully MTW4 will contd stay gd..
After having my 4th set of Sennheiser again go dead (left EarPod not charging above 10%) I have gave up on them. Will never purchase any Sennheiser in future.
@JINZZEWANG-nz8bc help me. The moment I connect the cable to the earphone, the case start blinking red. I have tried changing the - / +, just in case I got it wrong, but still the same. Do you know why? Pleaseee

So stupid for Sennheiser not to identify this problem in thr dev phase. What is their qualification and & hardware teams doing ?
