Doctor Seyfried: I am a retired physician. I have been following your work for at least 3 years. You are a national hero. You deserve the Nobel Prize in Medicine for your work.
No he doesn't. The study is weak. Siddhartha Mukherjee the leading cancer expert made clear in his keynote adress in 2024 NFCR Global Summit that the pathways of cancer signaling are far more complex than Seyfried's study conclusions : ruclips.net/video/xyHu7wlHCbc/видео.htmlsi=SvaMHJ6cGbh5cJYI
People should note that Dr. Seyfried is leading the charge here but he is not alone. There is significant new high-level research into metabolic for cancer that is happening around the world.
A very informative presentation by Dr Duraj. The jigsaw is coming together. For those below wondering about the dietary practicalities, I have been on a Keto Menu (it's not really a diet) for 15 months and it's pretty easy to adhere to. I eat brunch and dinner with no sugar of any kind, minimal starches and a few veggies for variety. I only had to tweak my protein/ fat intake up a touch so it's not even "high"- just higher than before. Improved satiety meant a fasting period from 8pm to 11am became an automatic habit. Dr Seyfried has outlined the very substantial benefits - just read the heading again - and make your choice.
There is a cancer clinic in Istanbul Turkey that uses conventional and metabolic therapy which includes minimizing glucose and glutamine and utilizes the keto diet as well as various infusions such as Vitamin C, B-17 and DMSO. The ChemoThermia Oncology Center has a RUclips channel with many patient stories.
Canivore keto advocates appear here making their case. But Dr. Seyfried understands keto can come in different forms. Whatever route you take to ketosis is fine with him.
Extract from the study, "dietary changes alone are unlikely to control tumor progression in most patients." And other studies demonstrate the long-term dangers of a keto diet.
Keto takes care of glucose. But absent glucose, cancer cells turn to glutamine fermentation for fuel so keto on it's own is not enough. Dr. Seyfried's new peer-reviewed study is claiming the first ever clinical evidence that cancer cells also ferment glutamine. But glutamine is ever present in the body. It is an amino acid that the body makes on its own so it requires special measures to inhibit glutamine at the cellular level. Dr. Seyfried press/pulse therapeutic model is two-pronged: 'press' the glucose ongoingly with keto and 'pulse' the glutamine intermittently with special measures. Glutamine must be inhibited off and on because it is otherwise necessary for other vital bodily functions like immune. But healthy cells can tolerate a temporary absence of glutamine while cancer cells deprived of both glucose and glutamine soon start to die.
@ Block glucose with keto, yes, including avoiding sugars and limiting high carb fruits and vegetables. But the body already makes glutamaine from other nutrients so it's impossible to keep out it of the body. The only option is to inhibit glutamine uptake at the cellular level.
I really do not like neither "standard of care" as I very much reject "guideliness" as they very much mean centralization of the decision making process. Having diverse approaches to particular diseases and tailored treatments for specific patients should be the way to go. There is no absolute truth and there are huge number of patients with particular needs. During the lock down era we could witness in many instances the tyranany within us. The fool will always intoxicate with a bit of power. Lets all be humble and open to ideas instead of trying to impose ideas.
what you are suggesting is already reality. If you want tailored treatments then you're gonna have to pay more aswell. Guidelines are made for the general public who cannot afford private healthcare and tailored treatments.
I will be ordering Dr. Longo's new book 'Fasting Cancer'. Comes out Feb. 4. Direct tie-in with metabolic therapy for cancer. Serious multi-year research on fasting and cancer with a focus on special calorie restricted diets that deliver much the same benefits as full water fasting.
Sensible diet: plant based wholefood diet & olive oil. Fat based diets are a peculiar phenomena for lazy people that can't be bothered to eat proper food
What diet do you recommend for someone with cancer? They don’t explain how to do this. They just say it’s amazing and it’s going to change how we treat cancer. How about helping people who have cancer now.
I agree I have aPNET cancer in head f pancreas I need this info as well But I am also on warfarin as I have 2 mechanical heart valves, but the heart is running great it is the pancreas cancer that is the problem

There's probably going to be a sequel to this. They seem to focus here on the part that the patient can do on their own (Press) and they probably cover the drug part (Pulse) in a following video. They might keep the videos short for the common audience.
I eat eggs for brunch. I eat beef for dinner. Then I do an 18-hour fast. Glucose - the main source of energy? Ignorance! Glycolysis or ketolysis - that is the question! Fasting for ketosis? Ketosis must be maintained by physical work of skeletal muscles!
PLEASE Professor, as a critical priority. hire onto your team a really good science communicator (someone as engaging as 'the Physics Girl', or Dr Ken Berry) because right now your messaging is far too technical and far too long-winded to have optimal impact. It is flying WAY over the heads of the people you most urgently need to be engaging with these brilliant and paradigm-shifting insights. These need to be communicated LOUDLY in terms understandable to politicians and the voters who put them in position. Trying to change the minds of physicians, oncologists at large, big pharma and the cancer and sick-care industries is like trying to push shite uphill. It flows FAR faster downhill. With love and tremendous admiration.

Very interesting, thank you!
Prof Seyfreid, What about Ivermectin, could you please comment on it? Thanks.
Add it to your protocol
1 mg
per kg
@egg399. How do you get ivermectin without a prescription?
Summary: do not eat carbs. Good idea anyway even without cancer.

Where can I find a practitioner to administer the Seyfreid Protocol? Within 100 miles of Memphis would be ideal.
Thank you.
