Fun fact: there's actually 1340 ethnicity in Indonesia, and when you say Muslim spread in Indonesia not because of war, you're not actually wrong but you are not correct, there's alot of Indonesian kingdom weakens because of the rebellion from the Muslims, which cause Indonesia loses in fight to Portuguese and the Dutch.
But this rebellion mainly happen in Sumatra and new guinea island rarely in the Java island.

I like that the country got more coverage in the international media from the past few years, still most of the talks are about how the country is not really well known or that it has a great potential in the future...but i'm happy nonetheless
Also, i think indonesia as a state has a very inner looking policies, indonesians never really consider outside countries when looking for economic opportunities or that kind of stuff, as you can see the amount of indonesian diasporas are very low in other countries beside malaysia, but i think this is about to change as the country need foreign investments to drive up the economy and right now indonesian government got more and more active in the international stage

Most likely it is due to cultural characteristic. We indonesian is not used to boast to foreigner and most likely unheard of. Nevetheless we do not lacking of diaspora. Other due cultural and mostly economic decision part, most diaspora decided to return after they finish education. For example my decision to go back after i finish uni. There are anti-mainstream theories and legends that say the Indonesian ancestors came from 20,000 years ago during the ice age. They live on the continent of Sundaland.
After the ice age, it was submerged by water and turned into the Indonesian archipelago. Archaeological evidence has been found on Mount Padang, West Java.

Also we have Uko Uwais and Joe Taslim, who play martial art very well on The Raid, and most people know Joe Taslim as Subzero on most recent Tekken (edited: Mortal Kombat) movie and Uko Uwais plays many roles in many movies like 22 miles, GI Joe Origin of Ninja (sorry I forgot the name of the Ninja, not a GI joe fans)

You cover everything from the geography and the history which is really awesome considering its only 12 minutes video
Thank you very much for covering Indonesia XD
Also about the language from Dutch
Actually we took MANY words from Dutch, but many people (including me) didnt know it was from Dutch except if told / study on their own
Example are Tante (Aunt), Om (Uncle), Perboden (Forbiden), Stang (Drive Rod), Kantor (Office), Kopling (Clutch), Eropa (we spell it as A-rope-Pah, rather than English's Europe "Your Rope")
    And theres many others
    --
Once i had conversation with random friend from EU in discord, and to make it easier to explain, I just told them that :
"Indonesia is like the whole Europe as one country... Different language, different people, different food culture, different traditional clothes... But as one country"
We even have different name for same food
Martabak Manis, Terang Bulan, Apam Balik, Hok lo pan, Kue Bandung (which many times become a debate between Indonesians lol),
Different method to eat same food
In Java, eating Fried banana usually only with sweet toppings like choco or (cheddar) cheese or milk
In Sulawesi, eating fried banana using sambals
(Which ALSO many times become a debate online lol)
Also different taste for the same food
(Nasi Goreng in North Sumatra taste different than Nasi Goreng in West Java, also taste different than Nasi Goreng in East Java)
In Sumatra, Curry based fried rice can be found...
In West Java, (especially Jakarta), it is more close to Chinese Fried Rice
In East Java, its more red and abudant of toppings
Some friends also said in Sulawesi the taste is totally different, but personally I've never go there so I cannot desribe it
