'You have no overhead, you bring in 1800 a month, where does the money go'. Excellent question. Sell the car for parts, drive your moms car while saving up for a new car. It's not that difficult. Why are you bothering mr. Ramsey with this.
Why depends on state and location 15 might be the minimum some make. Since when have the lower income people had great options? However, this lady needs to figure out where her money is going and find work that makes money.
It is also Greenville, SC
Get a job at a kitchen design company or a custom cabinet shop. Ask your boss for a referral. No doubt she would be willing to help with your career. You can help her on the side.
You always make the money first nothing else matters but the money always always always make the money first you spend comfortably no matter what‼️‼️‼️‼️
Engines don’t normally cost 10k installed 4-6 should get one
What make, model, and year is the car? So many details missing in this call.
You owe your parents $11K on a car that doesn't run?? Crazy.
She probably didn’t add oil to the car or something
I like her voice 😊
Dave is correct yet again
There he goes again telling people to buy a junker car, that will eventually leave her stranded and right back into the same situaution she is in now.
You missed the point
@@Hector-xe6xrfor most people practical stable realible transportation is a primary cornerstone to long term financial sucess.
$ 3,000 dollar junkers won't get you far.
She needs to have one or two honest and dependable mechanism to thoroughly examine the vehicle...and give a detailed, itemized estimates . She says some people and s body shop and then said the problem is mechanical.
...I will guess she is being flim-flammed by thousands of $$$
A 3k Toyota would be great
@@armchaireconomist8648 it’s not long term. Just thru BS2
The car is a Dodge isn’t it?
We've got a meek little 22year old girl at home. Where is her dad guiding her to figure this out? She's "taken it to body shops" and "it has a bad piston or something"... She has no clue. This should be a $3000 repair not $10K. Dad where are you? Even if you're not an expert you probably know a guy.
Is there way to sell this car and pay the difference
No way it should cost 10 grand to fix a blown engine.
Pay a shop to install a used engine for less than half that.
I also have a a underwater basket, weaving degree 😊
She doesn't want to work all the time!
Umm.. some people are doomed to fail 🤦
So she makes 3300 a month 3000 times 12 is 36k. So why does she have 11k car debt?
This is more realistic. I could very well see someone like her in one of those HGTV shows like "I'm an interior designer and chef on the side. My husband sharpens color pencils and chases butterflies on the side. Our budget is about 950k"
You sound jealous and ignorant.
@@superblump87 the funny thing is that you read that in your own voice.
@Ricardo Alvarez what you wrote?
@@superblump87 okay?
Dave Ramsey “turns wrenches”… By “turns” he means eats and by “wrenches” he means cake. 😂
Ten grand is way out of line to replace an engine, unless it's a Jaguar or some other high-end vehicle. (She needs to find an honest mechanic!) Engine replacements these days, on the high end for the average vehicle, are around $5k-$6K.
Jaguar motor would be 20k
10k is spot on for a new motor for a Hyundai or a Kia

😂
These young people are in a world of hurt.
10k to fix a car? Never had anything more than a couple of hundred. Anything over a grand and I'm out, not worth getting it fixed anymore. I'll just get another used car
The problem is she owes 11k on the car to the bank.
Our bills our to high and putting 25.00 away here and there is not enough
How tf does a single woman living at home need $3-4000 a month. She’s spending way too much on bs.
Was it in a wreck with no insurance?
Haha Dave asked the same thing
This is the advice I needed when I was her age. 😔
Ride a bike, I did for many years even all winter in MN, didn't get my 1st car until 24.
Everytime she tried to answer a question they asked another question as she’s answering the first one not a single question was answered lol
My brothers friend did have to work his way up and go to school for it but he makes good money as a #2 chef at a small fine dining restaurant it is hard work though
Soux chef not a Chef lady 😂
To much partying
$1,500 to $1,800 a month as a chef? She most be working less than $15 an hour or she’s not working too many hours.
'You have no overhead, you bring in 1800 a month, where does the money go'. Excellent question. Sell the car for parts, drive your moms car while saving up for a new car. It's not that difficult. Why are you bothering mr. Ramsey with this.
Her parents should get her a car
Nice new headsets!
For 15 bucks an hour … you can do just about anything that isn’t your dream job… and do more hours.
Why depends on state and location 15 might be the minimum some make. Since when have the lower income people had great options? I have found getting a good job requires several factors all of which either take luck, time, money, opportunity etc. Getting better paying jobs seems to get more complicated over time!!
"You will probably get $3'4000 for anything that's running" It is not running. She can't sell it, she does not have a title. "Talk to the bank about paying the difference" That will not go well. Did Dave bump his head?
Well, the advice was for her to junk it, ie sell it for parts, she'd be able to make $4k doing that, then she can pay off the rest of the 7k in installments (since she's already doing it anyway, difference being she wont have a car)
She is actually in better shape than many people who call this show with hundreds of thousands of student loan debt working a job that pays average at best
Sounds familiar to me.
Not under the table anymore
Not enough information for me on this episode I need to know what kind of car this is but it does sound like the repair shops are trying to take advantage of her with those quotes.
The kid needs to stop with the “umm” and sound off when speaking. Your life won’t change until you take charge of it yourself.
She works and has been to school so she is trying to get options at some point.
What do I do in my situation?
Dave- have more money.
