I prefer texting/writing on paper or notes or something, it’s honestly less awkward for me because I get shy, and nervous. Text are text, real life around a certain person, they could start a fight or just snap at you and start screaming at you. I do agree if a girl leaves you on read then think about what you said to her or what type of person she is, if you said something that COULD be taken as rude then they can read it as rude too, or they could just be a toxic person.
