Porsche is great at reconfiguring each sub system of the 911 to achieve specific goals. They are also great at developing the platform after it has been released and then using those devopments as underpinning of the next generation. This S/T model is an example of my first statement, but I remember hearing that when the 992.1 was released, it used almost the exact same rear end components as the 991.2 GT3... Which is just an upgraded version of... You get the idea. I wish Mazda and Toyota/Subaru could figure out how to apply this philosophy to the Miata and 86/BRZ so that they could have low volume specialty versions with high price tags for the few that can afford it, make their development costs back and let those upgrades trickle back down into the $25-30k base models
Someone with a real enthusiast mindset! I keep saying the new GR86 as a RS type model would be amazing with the Subaru flat six. There’s some amazing videos of GT86’s with the EZ30 at the ring. The ND doesn’t even need much since it already has a good induction noise. Just stiffer sway bars, 15mm height reduction, and 225 square tires…and of course seats. Even the recaro’s aren’t bolstered enough
@@aaroncendan2716 There’s actually quite a few issues with the new Corolla GR when it comes to people actually pushing them at the track. It’s probably a great street car 7/10’s car out of the box though. And biggest downside is it’s still a Corolla base. The Type R models have always been that philosophy but recently have been too overdamped
As much as I sympathize with your point at 0:52, no one who can access these will drive them. It'll end up just like the 911R: sitting on tire cushions in a climate controlled garage, waiting for the resale value to quadruple. I love the idea of this car and the execution is near flawless. It's a shame none of the buyers will even try to experience it.
Totally. I owned a GT4 manual and a GT4 RS and used both as daily drivers and put almost 50k miles on them. Screw the resale value. Anyone who doesn’t drive the shit out of these cars disrespects the engineers and has no soul or balls.
A factor many don’t realize is time. It’s not a complicated equation. More money requires more dedication. More dedication requires more time. More money means more options for the more limited free time. Add it up and most expensive cars don’t get many miles put on them. That’s independent of the resale factor, which is relevant.
I could take any number of still shots from the drive in the woods and make it my wallpaper. Beautifully shot video of a stunning sports car. Great work as always, fellas.

I used to love 911s because they used to be the every man’s sports cars, but when a base 911 is 120k, and cars like this are in the Hurracan, 750s, SF90 territory…they can keep it
My god the way the engine bounces on the upshift with that noise. CAR ORGASMIC!!! I pray one day I can afford one of those 3 cars you mentioned. 9000 RPM porsche, huracan or more likely the Z06
Lower limits, softer, slower steering, less locking diff is key these days. Wish this was accessible to majority. Can only dream if a GT3T with software updates would get it close perhaps. Thank you. My dealer is overstocked with these and is giving me a deal, my 981 Cayman S plus $10k. Was on the fence but your video convinced me to pull the trigger.
Great stuff. If I were a customer I’d prefer a more custom gearset compared to GT3T, that short final drive with even shorter 1-4 gears, and longer 6th gear. Them changing just the final ratio is somewhat lazy for the money they are asking on top of the GT3T. Love they went with green gauges and more classic looking fabrics.
This is why I love sim driving so much. I get to drive cars like this everyday... that I'd never be able to afford in real life. Thanks for another great video "savageguys" 😉
Excellent video as always! Just mind boggling how Porsche manage to make these incremental changes to the 911 Carrera to this ST & have totally different ‘personas’ to each variant. Considering I am a recent proud owner of 911 GT3 that proudly is on display on my TV stand this is a bit out of my budget but will buy if one pops in Costco. Different tangent, what road is this? Is it somewhere in the SF bay area ?
Yow-za! If Mozart were alive today, he would be in seventh-heaven. The engine sounds so, so beautiful. As you said, the "blippability" certainly was notable! I was a little surprised with Jack's claim that no other modern car "has this level of connection", though he did hasten to add the phrase "with this level of power". II certainly feel damned connected to the road when I drive my MX-5 (NC)... but yeah, nothing like the power in this beautiful Porsche. Thank you for reviewing.
I am willing to bet vast majority of these will go to people that already have many Porsche vehicles and this one will likely get garaged and see couple hundred miles a year at best. It's a dang shame, because whether we like it or not (as enthusiasts), we have probably reached peak of naturally aspirated engines and we will likely never see anything like this again, unless synthetic fuels etc gain real traction. Thanks for taking us along the ride. The POV segment with just engine wail and no words and silly gimmicks allowed me to live vicariously through you for a moment.
Look at Jack really coming into this role. I remember his first video with the bloopers and all. I really hope you guys are around for the long haul. You already are legends to many and soon you two will be right up there with the likes of Cammisa and others. Also, thanks for including front-facing driving sound only shots. It’s truly amazing to be able to see my favorite car enthusiast channel on RUclips given the opportunities (plural) to interview the engineers who design and build the incredible cars we all long for. What an absolute enjoyment to watch your videos.
THANK YOU and please keep up the good work!!
I used to love 911s because they used to be the every man’s sports cars, but when a base 911 is 120k, and cars like this are in the Hurracan, 750s, SF90 territory…they can keep it
The cinematography in this video is amazing!
Being a Porsche fan without Porsche money is torture. Makes me question all my life choices 😅
Still wondering how you guys make the POV so stable ? Love it ! 😍
That moment when he stopped being to professional and just said: " I like to go sideways" you can tell the engineer has a good idea of fun
NO DRIVE MODES 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Analog for the win!
My god the way the engine bounces on the upshift with that noise. CAR ORGASMIC!!! I pray one day I can afford one of those 3 cars you mentioned. 9000 RPM porsche, huracan or more likely the Z06
Thank you for this review! I was on the fence about this whip, but I pulled the trigger on an order midway into the video. 😁👍
Matchbox or Hot Wheels?
@@colin-nekritz You don't know me! I ordered my new 911 and protein shakes from Amazon at the same time.
Great film as usual and congrats on cresting 700K subscribers
So this is what Jack was doing. While Mark was driving 3 row SUVs, Jack was... driving the S/T 🤣
I came for the synchronized maniacal laughter of Jack and a German
Stunning, and that drive was a thrill!
Lower limits, softer, slower steering, less locking diff is key these days. Wish this was accessible to majority. Can only dream if a GT3T with software updates would get it close perhaps. Thank you. Ur content is different from the rest. Love it when the chassis guy is a fan of " sliding". ST may stand for "Sliding Tail"
Looks like Highway 128 between Coverdale and the coast, awesome driving road, one of my favorites.
Cloverdale
Thank you for the review! This is an awesome color, and a great car in general for sure. Too bad I'll never drive it. Oh yes, the Driving Impressions scenery is gorgeous.
I wish there is a dedicated 20-30 minute POV video for special vehicles like this. Absolutely amazing.
Thx for the POV just the sounds. I’ve had the privilege of driving a friend’s 991GT3RS at the track and OMG I am ruined. It was the feel of my Lotus with the build quality of a German car, the noise as you said of Lambos, old Ferraris, it is the perfect car. All that being said I hate Porsche because of all the dealer BS with all of the RS cars. Of course I guess if I had mega $ it wouldn’t impact me.
My dealer is overstocked with these and is giving me a deal, my 981 Cayman S plus $10k. Was on the fence but your video convinced me to pull the trigger.
are you referring to the Carrera S or Carrera T by chance? No dealerships are overstocked with S/Ts that I'm aware of, at least in the US
Such an impressive interview. Well done.
That Flat-6 sound ❤
Great stuff. If I were a customer I’d prefer a more custom gearset compared to GT3T, that short final drive with even shorter 1-4 gears, and longer 6th gear. Them changing just the final ratio is somewhat lazy for the money they are asking on top of the GT3T.
Love they went with green gauges and more classic looking fabrics.
Simply looks and sounds like perfection on wheels 👍
ND2 crew.. very happy for $30k OTD.. vehicle prices are getting insane.
This 💯%
Came across your channel and must say , excellent review of a very special 911 ❤
Absolutely love this car, great color as shown too! Thanks for sharing ✌️
Love your comment that whoever buys this car they should DRIVE it.
This is why I love sim driving so much. I get to drive cars like this everyday... that I'd never be able to afford in real life.
Thanks for another great video "savageguys" 😉
I'm a simple man. I see SavageGeese upload, I click and watch. Never a disappointment!
Straight to the driving impressions!
I got so immersed in the POV part that I forgot I was watching a video for a moment.
All I can say is wow! GREAT VIDEO!
Currently cross shopping a 911 S/T and a pair of Sebago boat shoes. Thanks for making my choice easier.
The person who earned the cash to afford this car isn’t missing the point of much, including this car.
10/10 for that POV shot
I love the part where Jack let the engine noise do the narration.
I just finished watching thestraightpipes review of this car
Your passenger looked mad nervous. Lol. Great video!
Hasselhoff - 🤣 - great work as usual @savagegeese love you guys…
4:52 pretty stunning view
This will appreciate like crazy. Future $1M+ car
sick car i’m popping down to the shop to grab one now
At 10:00 what camera was used for these shots?
Thank you Jack, great video!
Look at Jack really coming into this role. I remember his first video with the bloopers and all. I really hope you guys are around for the long haul. You already are legends to many and soon you two will be right up there with the likes of Cammisa and others. Also, thanks for including front-facing driving sound only shots. Don't feel like you have to constantly talk! Sometimes it's nice to pretend you're driving and not have to listen to talking all the time.
That colour is amazing
