Funny, I am wracking my brains, trying to remember when a male director had a bomb of a movie(s) and blamed the fans... but I can't think of any. Strange how every female directed media bombs and it's always the fans' fault.
Star Wars episodes 8 and 9 were a disappointment for me. Everything else after that has been flop after flop after flop... I would be worried if I was Disney, especially KK
The Acolyte?? High production values?? Did you watch some other show that nobody else watched?? Not less than $230 Million for eight episodes ( $28.75 million/episode) Where is it? Show it to me on screen. Or was it hiding under that ridiculous pile of dead witch cut-outs? Or did that gopher/beaver thing just bury it someplace that nobody could find it?
Try switching the word "Fan's" to "Cash Paying Customer's". Then possibly the woman who looks like a Lego Character might understand the situation better!
But i thought modern Star Wars wasn't meant for the older fan's that helped in a big way make it successful, but it was meant for this modern audience thing they keep going on about.
Prior to all the many complaints about the Acolyte it suffered from a fundamental flaw. It depicted the witches and Qimir in the worst way possible, as selfish, manipulative and aggressive. On the contrary the Jedi (well, except Vernestra), especially Sol, were depicted as caring and willing to help. Remember Indara in the first episode, they showed us that she died because she protected someone else. And then they tried to tell us, that the Jedi were totally wrong, that they raided the witches coven, that they were evil! That's so against every rule of storytelling, it's just confusing, it couldn't work.

But yes, the have rules affecting their whole life like a religious order. But that was the same with the witches. And i find it also hard to see it as a critique of the patriarchy, because prominent leaders of the Jedi in this show were female.
