This game truly captured the essence of adventure. I’ve realized that this game has truly impacted me and my personal growth. I wanted to travel and see the world after playing Grandia. And now I am doing that as much as I can with a sense of wonder and adventure. The game also reflects my relationship with my baby sister in Justin’s and Sue’s relationship. Rest in power Takeshi Miyaji and thank you.
I totally get what you mean about the essence of adventure. I remember playing Grandia when I was around 10 and finally reaching the top of the End of the World-it completely sparked my imagination back then. Even now, it’s one of those moments I look back on with so much fondness.
Let us never forget the man that brought Grandia to life, and later brought other such talent to the table...thank you Takeshi Miyaji, you will be missed. Now noriyuki and his music are one of the many links to remind us of you. Thanks for giving me an adventure!
I wish more people knew about how majestic and incredible the soundtrack of Grandia is. Over time, I learned to appreciate and love every aspect of this game - and it ended up being the most important title to my personal life. When I think of adventure, wonder, and the hopeful unknown - there simply is no other soundtrack out there that captures it better than Noriyuki Iwadare's masterpiece.
I'm more surprised that there are people besides me that loves it nowadays. Grandia 1 is also my favorite game of all time but sadly it's very underrated. I remember it being one of my first games i played when i was a kid. It was long and really took you places. No other game comes close to offering the amount of adventure Grandia offered.
Robin MX Totally agree. Grandia defined the real, true "Epic" nature of RPGs that is just not found in titles today, at least not yet. And I'd honestly listen to the title song nearly every time I started the game. A truly incredible, memorable title. And this "Rockestra" arrangement was nothing short of amazing.

The entire orchestra looked like they were enjoying themselves playing this theme. I don't blame them either, this is one of the many musical scores that really sticks with you through the years. I will say though, they played a lot of the notes quite fast

I agree, Grandia was a game that truly showed you what an adventure was all about. And Justin's journey is one I will never forget. It never truly played off the cliches like most other rpgs do. It just showed a boy who wanted to go on an adventure. Oh god I always cry when I hear that violin at 2:13 T_T. I cried every time they played it, when Justin first left port to New Parm, and when Sue left the party at the end of disk one.
I'm new to Grandia...yet I still want to cry tears of nostalgia upon hearing this. I think this is because I am familiar with Iwadare's work and have been a huge fan of his since LUNAR for PS1.
I actually recently bought the first Grandia for Saturn during my journey in Japan ... I haven't started it yet, but listening to that, I'm pretty hyped now !

first real rpg i ever played, its just so beautiful, intense, emotional.. great story, awesome soundtrack, unique combat system and well designed characters. i fell in love with this game almost 15 years ago and i'm still a fan of it. its very sad that the upcoming generations won't be interessted in such an old, yet beautiful game, just because its graphics aren't up to date...

作中の、母親からの手紙をジャスティンが読むシーンを思い出しました。
ジャスティンが、故郷の港町パームからニューパームの街へ母親に気づかれないよう早朝に旅立つのですが、
船に乗る直前に船員から言われ、ある1通の手紙に気が付いてジャスティンはこっそり読んじゃうんですよね。
そこには故郷を旅立つであろう事を悟っていた母親が、息子に向けた精一杯の激励をしたためていたんです。
幼かった自分にもわかるくらい、母親の愛情の深さにどれだけ泣いた事でしょうか。
いなくなって、離れてからわかる大切な人の存在の大きさ。
大人になって、母親が子供を社会へ送り出す時の気持ちがわかるようになりました。
旋律1つだけでプレイしていた当時のことを思い出して懐かしんだり、涙したり。

中学生時代、セガサターンでジャスティンやフィーナ、スーやガドインたちと冒険したあの瞬間に心は一気に戻される。
続編ではあまり本編で使用される機会の少ない曲でもあったけど、1では随所で流れ、気持ちを高揚させてくれた。
まさに「忘れられない冒険」になりました。
そして、今まさにNintendo Switch版をプレイ中。
この素晴らしいコンサートに行きたかったと、何度観ても思わされる。
これから始まる冒険へ躍動する心を表現しているようなパート。続いて切なさを醸すバイオリンのソロ。音楽だけでも十分な感動があるけれど、ゲームのエピソードとつながると心が揺さぶられる。オーケストラといえばクラシックというイメージだけど、オーケストラで演奏される価値ある新しい曲もたくさんあると思う。
