I personally thought Zane/Ryo should have been where Jonouchi is because, aside from the Yami Marik duel (which Jonouchi TOTALLY should have won!), Ryo is the better duelist with a great record, as you said. Maybe even higher.

Very much agree. If Joey had to lose the duel, they could've just wrote it that he outright was defeated and his lifepoints went to zero. Having him lose on a stamina technicality kind of cheapens Marik's supposed feroicity as a duelist.

yeah, joey's deck was basically 90% luck based by the end of yugioh. he wasn't really a "great" duelist but got lucky with his rolls. He was still regarded by pegasus though as the #3 duelist in the world when GX rolled around, only behind kaiba and yugi. I would put zane above joey, altough i would still like to see joey at the #10 spot, and zane around jack's level.

@@mohammadmurie fun fact in the oricalchos duels yugi doesn't use millennium puzzle it's his skill and luck that won him duels there because you could see in the first episode of season 4 that millennium puzzle doesn't work because if it did work they maybe would have played a shadow duel so against weevil yamis overkill was total luck

I’m a little surprised that we didn’t see Kaiser Ryo, Edo Phoenix, Pegasus, or Asuka Tenjouin on the list. My favorites are Judai and Yusei.

Not gonna lie Yu-Gi-Oh 5ds was better than og Yu-Gi-Oh, the protagonist being yusei is really mature because he had to deal with hardship and necessity proving that you can do anything no matter what hand you are dealt with. It also helps that the show has a Peruvian sublime that I appreciate since I am Peruvian. Go earthbound immortals!!

Where'd you get the 5D's footage from? I see Red Demon's Dragon which is the Japanese name and Crunchyroll uses English names for the cards, which you see in the Arc-V footage saying Archfiend. I see that TV Tokyo logo during Yusei's part, which makes one wonder where you got the footage from. Lol
You can hate me, but Yusei is the most skilled protagonist in the entire yugioh anime. His evolution through the entire 5DS Arc was amazing :)

To be completely honest yusei can beat all of yugi's enemies while the same cannot be said of yugi to yusei's enemies, yugi can't beat the earthbound immortals or timelord but yusei can beat the Egyptian gods because their can be negated and destroyed while Dartz's leviathan can get hit by zero force because infinity does have a beginning meaning it started from zero
At least Joey's almost win earned him the respect of Kaiba
I really want to see characters from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! G/X, & Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds in a tournament tv show or film. Also finally see some of those characters from those series against the same type of characters deck against one another.! The winner should be decided by the fans or at least help to decide who wins.

A crushing defeat for Tsukumo. The only protagonist who didn't make the cut. 2nd highest duel rate below Jaden, but makes way too many rookie moves, thus burdened him with the lowest win rate out of all. Poor Yuma
At least he can turn super saiyan. Yugi has nothing like that.
Yuya shouldn't be on the list I know he has won the most duel but his constant reliant on action cards is a signal saying that "hey if I don't use action cards I'll lose" I know it's supposed to be "entertaining" but really? Yuma should be on the list He beat astral with no number cards, and we know how powerful they were in zexal unless you count Utopic Future as one.

Yuma got better as the show progressed. He is also the youngest out of all the protagonists (if u excuse rush duels). I'm not Yuma's biggest fan, but I wish ppl would cut him some slack

I am surprised darkness from season 4 isnt on the list since it is heavily hinted that his pawns defeated everyone except for judai. It is also hinted that he offscreened seto kaiba and possibly yugi as well.
I love how they mention Yugi’s deck was “well balanced” and “adaptable” when it kinda wasn’t. Especially during Battle City and later on, they leaned into playing cards that would have caused trouble for anyone who’s luck wasn’t enhanced thanks to the Millennium Puzzle. (For proof, go and build Yugi’s anime deck and see how many hands you draw that you can’t do much with compared to Kaiba, or even later duelist decks like Yusei, Jaden, Zane or Kite.)
I know it's late but personally by saying "adaptable" he basically uses all the cards there is. Like his Deck consists of too many archetypes but too few cards from them. At least Kaiba's is more focused on summoning high-leveled monster, notably Blue-Eyes, and protecting them. You cannot just support Dark Magician and also try to gather enough Tributes for the Gods and also Ritual Black Luster Solider in a 40-to-60-card Deck.

Yusei should be lower. He's really kind of average. Sure he's undefeated, but his opponents were mostly fodder

Jaden should be first he never used any of those tricks and managed to come up with strategies to nearly almost always win. Plus one of his rivals (Sirus brother) was a prodigy in yugioh and he managed to beat him at the end. While Yugi had trouble beating kaiba, who just focused on brute strength.
Where is Revolver? He is one of best rivals in Yu-Gi-Oh series.

The reason revolver isn't on this list is the same reason reiji akaba is in the wrong spot cause let's be honest jack and kite got nowhere against zarc but reiji negated his cards and dealt the first damage to him
Blame the assholes who defeated him.
Mostly because his win ratio is really low...
He wins against Ghost Girl, Go, Windy and Blood Sheppard. And that's it.
Meanwhile he draws against Yusaku twice, Lightning (though it was stolen from him, and yes, I'm still pissed about that), and loses against Soulburner and Yusaku twice.
His win ratio isn't even 50% :/
And I'll agree he is the best character in VRAINS due to his backstory, as well as the best rival since Kaiba, but this fact still holds.
Why is Z-one not number 1 is a better question? Also, why isn’t Z-arc Nunber 2 or 3

I think Yugi learns a lot from Yumi when you're doing together so he knows that the deck magician is one of his go-to monsters along with the variance and I also think Yugi also feels the friendship between dark magicians soul and Yumi same thing with seto kaiba and also the blue eyes so mean sometimes he uses kaiba's deck can feel The souls of both their friends of the past lives
Nah, after dark side of dimensions, Kaiba is more likely to be the 2nd strongest duelist
Both his new deck and ability to summon obelisk from another dimension
Kaiba even after DSoD is a mediocre duelist at best, wouldn't even make it into a real top 10 imo. All Kaiba has is money, no skill, no talent, money and lots of determination. He's basically the Freza of Yugioh.

@@kuyashiix you said it yourself, its like frieza. Frieza understood he is not the strongest being in the universes and in order to challenge Goku, he trained hard to get golden (and to hold Broly for the hours vegita and goku needed to fuse) and even helped goku, his nemesis, to finally beat Jiren
Not accepting Kaiba got a brutal deck and a character development thanks to the pharaoh its BS, even finally accepted his defeat against Yugi (Yugi not Atem) and accepted he is a true duelist before going to the past to challenge the pharaoh
DSOD is a sequel to the manga-only.

Yugioh zexal was underrated but it happens to be my favorite in the franchise along with 5D’s those two are untouchable.
I watched the two of this plus arc V but i never watched the original

Suggestion: make a list of top 10 duelist for every Yu-Gi-Oh! Series. Because it’s really hard to score top 10 for all the series (yet) as they hardly meet each others and some live in different time or dimensions. Nevertheless wholesome video 😄👍🏻 cheers

There is something that must be said. If someone defeats someone, it doesn't necessarily mean they're better. It could be because a bad matchup. It would be like "Rock beats scissors so rock is better". Every deck has it's shortcomings. What makes a duelist good is if the duelist has a back up plan for when he/she encounters the counter deck.
I'm surprised that Yuma and astral is not here because those 2, are beast, they can change a card mid duel, shining draw which allows the player to draw the card that they want OUTSIDE from their deck and also create a card mid duel

I disagree with the video. Yusei could very easily duel circles around Yugi. Yusei should have been #1 just because of exactly what this video portrays about him adapting to any situation. The only reason that Yugi won so much is because of "Heart of the cards" which is not a thing on any other season. Btw, 2nd place would be Zane Truesdale not Yugi either
