Abandoned Home Hidden In The Woods

  • People often ask how i come to find the locations that i film. Well... there's no easy answer to that, but i can tell you how i found this one. Over the winter time i was driving some unfamiliar roads to film a location and by bad luck, i went the wrong way and had to turn around. While turning around, i noticed a decrepit home sitting back in the woods. It was obvious that it was abandoned, but it has homes bordering the property and i would easily be seen walking around. So i added it to google maps and returned when the foliage grew in and was able to disguise me. Not knowing anything about the house or its condition, i returned to explore it. What you see in this video is what is left after decades of natural decay. What i also learned from a local after filming is equally as sad. So come along as we take a look at this Abandoned Home Hidden In The Woods. Enjoy
Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

I love seeing how nature reclaims things. I can't help but think about my own 100+ year old house and think how quickly it'd go if I don't keep up with stuff. It's a constant battle that people with newer homes can't really understand. Hope to see more of Lily in the future! ( I'm rather partial to the name since my "daughter" has the same one. Oh, she's a Sheltie by the way! Lol)

A long awaited treat for me to see an abandoned house video. I am glad that you didn't give up after the school incident. It is good that your daughter got to come out on this one, she really admires you, and is careful around that structure. The t-shirt representing your channel may be a good thing to be wearing when you are exploring in case you encounter anyone, they can read your shirt and have less doubt of what you are doing. I hope that you dont have to encounter anyone though. I hope smooth exploring for you. see you next time ! 👍👍👍

wow -- the earth is slowly swallowing it up little by little -- would rather have you safe than be dumb -- the floor fell but the upstairs wall stuck around that is rare to see -- goes to show how they built things back in the early days -- built to last and this shows the integrity of the craftsmanship !!!

In less than fifty years nature has taken over and in a hundred years almost nothing will be left.

Hi Jay, wow that house has definitely seen better days. Such a sad story of the people who lived there, I guess the family were just too upset to keep it :(. Thanks for sharing. x

That was so good! I feel like the music was actually spot on! Would’ve loved to have seen the lake they used too, but what a great house! I was like “careful careful don’t fall” then “WOOOAAAHH” when you got to the top of the stairs 😂 looked like it just “fell off” lol

Hi Jay and Lili. It's such a shame to see those beautiful old homes end up like this one did. Nature is working very hard to take the house back. It is a good video though and appreciated. Thanks Jay and Lil.

Great video! It is always sad to see an abandoned house. At one one time it was filled with the hopes and dreams of a family. It makes you think of how many people have walked through that same front door and have walked up those stairs.

Your daughter is so sweet! :) And this video was awesome, what a shame the family didn't want the house, I would have loved to see it preserved. That view from the top of the stairs made my stomach drop to my knees.....LOL.....be careful out there!

So nice to see you and Lili exploring this house together -
It reminds me of an abandoned house that I was exploring some years ago - it was in pretty bad shape - I thought I was being careful and I went upstairs and then fell through the floor onto the first floor and broke my ankle - you can’t be too careful when you’re going through old houses like this and I’m glad you and Lili got out safely !
That house must’ve been beautiful when it was intact.
Love the music with this video 😁👍💕

Now that was awesome!! The way that place is collapsing in on itself is beautiful. A shame, but beautiful. And it was crazy how the stairs are coming right out of the walls LOL
Awesome explore, stay safe out there!!

Great find! I couldn't tell if it was Balloon framed or not, meaning lack of cross member/firestop installation. Balloon framed houses had dimensional lumber(literally 2"×4")that went from the foundation to the roof. Also, the baseboard mounted receptacles are early 20th century.

Aw hi Lilly! (Sorry if misspelled). This reminds me when my dad and I would explore abandoned houses we found while driving. Sure miss those days and wish we could explore just one more time!
