Yep to many years of watching fixer upper shows. I was thinking the same thing the house did not have any rain damage. The bones of the house looked good. And the fact you said there use to be an outdoor kitchen this maybe a little older than we think. This is very cool. Thanks for the tour.
Awesome explore, I can see the sheriff sitting on the porch in a rocker chair with a cigar in his mouth and a jug of moonshine sitting next to him! LOL. Thanks for sharing the history you could dig up on the place! Thank you for sharing gave thumbs up!
JPVideos Ohhhhhh you can think about it boy, just don’t do it! Lol. Thanks for the response! Awesome! That was funny as hell! Lol I would add more, but don’t want to offend the snowflakes! Lol
I put your channel on auto play as I do housework. I can’t watch much, but as I fold laundry I can take a peek. I like the addition of still shot, including the audio of a photosnap! I also love added historical facts right into edited video because I can’t read all the comments.
I love this quaint little house. Looks like it could be renovated into a unique home ( stone houses may be a common sight " up there " but down here it would be an uncommon jewel .. a real "cutie pie".) Love how it is built into the side of the hill . Thank you for taking us along on this fun explore.
This stone house/ building could be made into a really cool home!! Loved this location..... was reading the comments on the old radio!! It was precious!! I agree that is was most likely late 30s to the 40s!!! Ok going to watch more of your videos 😃 Take care!!
jp, that is a cool place!.....that archway in the kitchen area is what is called a 'baker's nook', i saw one a little bit larger in an old 1800's house here in tennessee...ty for the video
I've enjoyed all of your videos. Somehow the addition of your female friend had my interest. Can only hope you bring her along more often. Lol Seriously, she doesn't seem to mind being in dirty, dusty places. I admire that. Keep you the good work.
Pepto Bimal Pink is the impression that I get. It's awful the way buildings deteriorate when they are not lived in and worse when any opening allows weather to come in. Thanks for the upload.
Cool place, happy to see that it hasn't been vandalized. It is a pain in the rear having to walk down stairs to use the bathroom, I know from experience.
thanks so much for taking us all along on this explore. beautiful little house; love the stonework & the metal roof has really been doing its job. there is some great furniture in there, still in good shape. thanks for taking your time & for sharing the history. keep safe & God bless :) :)
Love the look of the stone work on the outside. The set up inside is a bit crazy, like you said having to run down two flights of stairs to get to the bathroom. Also that kitchen would be so beautiful. I loved this.
Motorola goes back a long way, dating to 1928, when the Galvin brothers bought out a comapny that made battery eliminators to be used to run battery-powered things on AC house current. It got its name in 1930, when it brought out a radio that could be installed in cars: Moto for "Motor" and "ola" which was used for many products of that era. They were famous for producing the "Walky-talky" of WWII! The brand is still around today, making lots of electronic products. How's that for longevity! Very interesting structure, just asking to be brought back into useful life. (BTW, the "bar" could also be a common kitchen bar. My best friend's folks installed a wooden one between the kitchen and living room of their apartment, using bar stools instead of tall chairs.
Cool video. I'd love to find and fix up something like that as a weekend get away. Those "bars" on the Windows are there to keep small branches and birds from hitting the glass. See a lot of them out in the old wooded areas of So. Carolina and such. Keep up the great vids.
Lets see. Rock/Stone Walls. Metal Roof. Plexi Windows with Metal screens. Almost sounds like an antique bug out shelter. All it needs is a water well and solar power. Great hunting cabin.
the Motorola Radio is from about the late 30's early 40's -- i did have a old Zenith Radio kinda like that one and it also had the Turn Table for Records and they are 78's - i still have the old records but not the radio // does seem like this place has several stories to tell from birth to demise - if it was a Police Station - i would say it was more like the headquarters of the department - possible setup as more like interrogation rooms or sections along with keeping records // the outside area looked like it might have been use for a holding pen while getting information // still very interesting to see the different updates to each part of possible usage // home - office of some kind - a motel - Police Station - possible day care center for kids ? ( the oven rack windows lol ) // still a very neat place and the setting is huh ? from front looks its like a old farm house but then pow its got all this hidden structure that is not really seen // also very nice to see you bring others with you on your journeys and teach the respect of getting missed history from different era's that many would not know much about
Really cool place! Pretty awesome to see that older furniture still intact and not destroyed by vandals or looters. That pink paint or wall paper was something to lol!
Kinda nice place, the wood table looks good to use yet, even the painted white table is good to use. Too bad left behind. It kinda looked like a walk in basement with the rock walls and upstairs was liveable. Really unique find JP
One of my favorite video, I love the stone walls and if I only have the money to invest on it I would get it fix for a summer rental or 2 bdrm bed and breakfast or a home away from the cty..
A chamber pot was used so you didn’t need to run for a toilet at night. It was common to see them in my earlier years visiting relatives in the rural south.
Pretty house, luv the stones on the outside and that big white table downstairs! Luv it! Great find. I always luv watching your videos. thanks for sharing :)
Looks small from the exterior. Larger once inside. Beautiful stonework! The entertainment center ....I'm thinking from the 50's, very early 60's? ....from the 'tubes' inside. Cool explore! ☺
Great one! Really enjoyed this. Would make a cute vacation cottage or even a home for one or 2 people with some "fixing up". Love the front porch and the stone walls! Pretty setting too. Thanks!
Quit a neat find, very cosy compact for a stone house. Beautiful stone outside on the house. Its very well hidden in the woods which is a good thing. Very interesting place, nice to fixed over to a cabin, very cool.
That is s cool place you found to check out. I can imagine how nice it would be to go to sleep with the rain hitting on that metal roof. I do hope someone saves it before it's too late. So many possibilities for such a quaint stone building.
very cool find. the legs on the table, wow. they don't make them like that anymore. true craftsman. i like how it is built into the side of the hill. who was your co-explorer ? does she do youtube also?
MOTOROLA was forties , fifties. Old set with 4 chairs in basement and table...the thirties , early 40's. The stainless steel tea kettle with black handle 8n basement if from 70's. The identical kettle with copper bottom is sitting on my kitchen stove right now. A gift from my mother. Lol !
hi i have a few things. how far from a main road is it? if it was an old jail. i would think i could hear traffic? but i heard none. also with the cinder blocks. that either would have been a part they were going to build. or add on to. or they replaced the the stone wall that was already there. i doubt it tho because there would be a drit floor still. as to where its concrete. also the building was built at two different times. which is the split on the outside of the stone wall you can see. so it was built on. but not too much later than it was built tho. so if it was a jail. the part where you walk in the bottom floor. facing the furnace. off to the right. is the coal or wood chute is against that wall. so that part where the chute is would have been where they stored that,. so the insert in the wall would have been an oven. but they put the sink in after it was built. its a beautiful and wonderful piece of history! thanks
Wow Motorola use to make Radios? thats awesome info .. I once lived in a house where the bathroom was downstairs and it was an extension of the house to the side of it .. it was a pain to keep going downstairs to the toilet haha .. In UK we have what they call listed buildings. This means that an owner can not change the exterior and i think the interior too. That is why I would take a backpack and take some small stuff with me. It's not like you're stealing from anyone. It's abandoned property left to rot and decay. What a terrible waste. People could restore that stuff and make it beautiful again, so why let it rot? I would try to locate the owner of the property and get permission to salvage whatever I could....
Somebody had great taste, the design and some of the furniture in that house is really nice. I think it would be easy and fun to renovate that house. It's not real nasty, rotted, and moldy like most abandoned structures. If someone had taken better care of it, they could have made a huge profit from selling it.
Pretty neat old house with some interesting history. It is well hidden alright just blends in with the trees hopefully someone will come along and try to save it as it looks to be solid just needs a little TLC. Great find.

Cool video! I liked that stone exterior. I'm guessing that hook thingy on the roof may have been a support clamp for a pipe to channel the water off the roof?
Cozy, durable place to fix up. It looks like only the inerds of this space need to be replaced...of course, lead paint would have to be carefully removed while wearing a breathing mask.
Yep to many years of watching fixer upper shows. I was thinking the same thing the house did not have any rain damage. The bones of the house looked good. And the fact you said there use to be an outdoor kitchen this maybe a little older than we think. This is very cool. Thanks for the tour.

Radio is a Motorola EC54 made between 1956-1961
I cant find anything when I google the name and model.
DVincentW check radiomuseum.org
No, that radio is older than that. It reeks late 30s early 40s.
Hi, from my research the radio is from 1950. Given that some Motorola models look similar the radio is either a model 6F11, 8FM21 or an 8FM21B.

There's a well about 30ft from the building.

Back in the old days they had chamber pots to use instead of going all the way down stairs, or out to the outhouse. Just saying
Milton Shapp was Governor of Pennsylvania 1971-79.
MOTOROLA was forties , fifties.

Love the building. Front does look old western. Enjoyed this very much thank you.
Maybe the cage material on the windows was to protect the glass from things like rocks or bottles being thrown though them. Just a thought.
Wow it would need some cleaning and bring back to life the structure is in good shape great find. What town is that? Thanks again guys! ❤ it.

What a cool house with an odd setup/ layout. The toilet laying on the floor was an early to mid 1970s Mansfield Mohican.
Depending on how close this is to town this would make a cool little gastro/brew pub. Just add a large wrap around patio.

Cool video! I liked that stone exterior. I'm guessing that hook thingy on the roof may have been a support clamp for a pipe to channel the water off the roof?
Cozy, durable place to fix up. It looks like only the inerds of this space need to be replaced...of course, lead paint would have to be carefully removed while wearing a breathing mask.
i liked the radio very cool
My 1st thought, as you walked in, it was a very old tavern/Inn like place a long time ago.
