Nice barn. Functional nothing fancy but more than adequate. That pulley system is quite elegant. You realize there are 2-3 generations alive today that haven't got a clue of what a barn on a "family" farm looks like!
The interest is not in the rating; it’s in what is shown, no matter what. Any abandoned building, even a tree stand, has history and it’s history we’re interested in. Thanks for all your effort.
You may not have found alot of items, but you sure found a barn with a past, a hunters stand and GORGEOUS countryside. To me that's very relaxful to listen to the wind, the sounds of nature, etc... STUNNINGLY AWESOME!!!! Great find!!! And as always, thank you for sharing ✌🏼❤🌻🌳
Looks like an old sheep barn. The setup is too small and not fortified enough for cattle. The ribs on the inside of the roof are impressive. The loft is massive for such a small barn. Nice find though -- definitely worth the hike!
Empty, but not disappointing! Thought it was a home run! Great explore and the design was pretty cool. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to share! Thumbs up as always!
Just discovered your channel the day before. Glad I stumbled upon it! I do a lot of explorations here in NC, but limit it to just photographs. Great job documenting the past!
Definitely a “home run” to me! When I lived in that area I would photograph old barns, they’re a rapidly disappearing part of history. Great video and kudos to Mike for “going the extra mile “ to get nice footage of the hay loft! Loved his t-shirt too 👍 I’ve checked out your merch, would love a t-shirt that says “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” 😃
First of all: I loved your companion's t-shirt. And that barn was beautiful especially the woodwork on the upper floor. I do wonder if there might have been another building in that surounded area where the farmers themselves would have stayed? Again a great historical video ☆☆☆☆☆
JPVideos Tank you listen true story the photos have a wonderful story so why not share like your videos. Aloha. I would take pride in having your photos in my home with a back story
That was great. At the end heard a bird or animal noisy and loud what was that? Thanks so much for showing slowly the wonderful beautiful wood and construction of such perfection. Wow I could feel the peace there in the wind. Good job guys!!
Really cool old barn. Them fields you walked through where probably at one time some of the hay meadows they used for stocking that hay loft. Thanks Mike for giving us a look up in the loft. Great vid my friend.
there was a small room, and a ladder leading to something in the loft, I would have liked to see, but I know you all couldnt get up there. I am glad for the images that you were able to get of the loft. Thankyou
Beautifully constructed barn! I wonder if there was once a house nearby? I was thinking if not cows, maybe goats? Kids do like to jump, hence the screening wire. On the other hand, my grandpa worked on a small dairy farm and the barn seemed to be about the same size. Great video, guys!
So much history, and I realize you don't get it yet, but awesome. I did call Dairylea to find out when the Dairylea Annual meeting was held at Grossingers, but they had to search and I've not heard back from them. Barns are EXCELLENT places to video and...........you never know what you may find. More later.
Love the bird nests. there's a hole in your bucket, your bucket a hole..... a song goes something like that. I just want the barn wood that is all. ha ha. this is a pretty barn love the beams in the loft. I can almost hear the cows mooing now. thanks
EARTH ANGEL😇. NO LETDOWN!!!😮 THIS was an interesting video👍😍🤷🏻♀️. Looks 👀 like an old wagon road going up there; depending on what kind of a vehicle 🚗 you had ,you might have been able to drive up there!☺️. 🐖 🐷 Pigs, 🐄 🐮 cows, and maybe sheep 🐑 might have occupied that barn. Handsome barn 🚪!!! 🤷🏻♀️ I love 💕 “rustic”!! This barn could be restored!🤔🧐 Where’s the 🏡 House? Another one bites the dust!😞👍
JPVideos sorry I didn't mean where is the house located, but like where was the house on the property, or in relativity to the barn?! Earth Angel says thank you!😰👧
It doesn't always have to be exciting. Every building has a story to tell. As you said, it was probably once a beautiful farm tucked away in the countryside. We can imagine how it used to be. It's still cool to explore! Thanks guys!
either if the places have stuff from top to bottom or just plain empty they still have a history that we never really knew about - and at least with videos like this it will preserve some kind of history before it all disappears
Awesome old barn I can imagine farm animals there. Very cool glad you made it up there to document the place. The tower was nice as well too bad you couldnt get up in there to look around what a great view you would have. But better to be safe then sorry.
No that's not rebar for concret, its regular fencing material, I think there were chickens in the are so they would not get out. The wood in top floor of the barn looked purty good, to bad the floor is rotting out. Clearn hay mow. And the track still there for lifting up bails of hay. I am a farm kid and I have packed may bails in the hay mow of hay.
Pamela Noel yes, I was thinking sheep. There would have been plenty of grazing land. Not enough space for cattle, and no milking provisions for cows in this barn. The matching home was probably somewhere close by. I was curious to follow the electric...from wench did it come? How far away? It wouldn’t be brought there for a single location, so I’m still guess the House was nearby but maybe destroyed for some reason, such as fire.
That appears to be a dairy barn from the 50's to the mid 70's. Be aware of your surroundings, you never know when a local with a shotgun will step out of nowhere on you.
I like the country, so peaceful. It might have been a dairy farm if you found an old milk crate, and those feeding areas looked about the height to feed cows. I really like farms and farmers and love farmer's markets. Farmers are hard working, decent people and I really respect them i also appreciate LOCAL food. I love dairy farms too, especially if they make ice cream like the farm in Dalton. Manning's Dairy. Their ice cream and milk is SO GOOD. The barn was pretty, the gates, and doors, and the ceiling too. I like wood. It was fun to watch. You make BEAUTIFUL still photos, and you REALLY should think of selling them, and even taking the photos to the FINE ARTS FIESTA to sell. Local history and you do have an artistic ability.
You do have a REAL TALENT and lots of the pictures you take are beautiful. Maybe you should still use a regular camera TOO and sell those photos. I went to a POP-UP store event last fall and there was a photographer there that had beautiful photos like you do, that they were selling, and also your photos could be sold at the Fine Arts Festival. I especially love the photos you did at the Lace Factory. They are so beautiful they are poetic. You can make money selling the photos but since you did that at one time maybe your aren't interested anymore but it's something to think about. You do have an artistic vision.
The top of the barn was most likely for hay / straw . The large V shaped were feeders most likely for cows. The family probably still own the land. If not ...how much????
Nice find..! Maybe it was for sheep or goats? With the mesh it must of been something that could climb or jump..thats why I think goats and sheep? Great video..keep em coming! Thanks
I love this video been watching your videos and enjoying your explorations very interesting finds, I discover sometimes I hear a weird sounds using a sensitive ear buds when you explore abandoned homes. Like guttural faint sound. Could be just my imaginations. I am scared for you guys to come across aggressive entities especially PA.
Amazing video and absolutely amazing barn ! For being abandoned many years ago it it is in surprisingly great shape ! Thank you for making that trip through all the dense vegetation to make us this awesome video 😁👍
SWEETA!!! There's a hole in the bucket dear Liza dear Liza,,,LOL, look like some really really nice Countryside old barns tell lots of stories, however I do believe you are right the highlight was that patina door absolutely beautiful thanks for sharing Keep On Truckin... 👍👍,thank you Mike for showing us the upstairs fantastic woodwork, the way the beams interlock each other... Tom B.
Hi guys, I would say it was a great place to see as people who have probably never gotten a look inside an old barn can see how things used to done back in the day, this type of barn is still in use today in many places I would say. I was lucky and grew up around farmland and countryside. I think it was a lovely video and well researched and explored, thank you and yay go Mike. I trust Mike will be on camera a bit more now that he has done it the first time ;). x
"Let down " ? Are you kidding ? I loved this explore . Maybe because I was raised on a dairy farm. I'm sure the surrounding land was green pastures at one time... Love the gambrel (?) roof design on the barn ( Penn. Dutch ?) MY Daddy 's dairy had those same style milk crates ...brings back memories. So much to like...love the beautiful Dutch door and white picket fence . As high as the row of feeders are off the ground maybe this was the dairy barn for cows. The roof in the hay loaf is gorgeous ! Looks like the hull of a ship doesn't it. A beautiful tour ...you and Mike did a great job. (do hope you were wearing boots....overgrowth looks snakey. )
May I add another thought ..?.. I wasn't the one who had to trudge 15 minutes up-hill through wet grass high as my head ! I am sitting in my easy chair with a cup of coffee. ...enjoying your walk-thru...I know it wasn't easy ....Thank you for the your time and effort.
Definitely a pulley system for storing hay bales. Drop down what is needed for daily feeding probably through the hole Mike put camera in. This farmgirl is guessing hogs and cattle there. 🐖🐂
every place does have its own vibe-feel-atmosphere // with just a barn and lookout tower left standing its still a great find as to the imagination one can only see the beauty of how it once was // i would bet if had lots of time and a few more able bodies one just might find the actual House or the remains - even a few outbuildings as well // with all the overgrowth it would make it a good challenge for finding that needle in the haystack
yes that was used for hey. i used to live on a farm, back in 79-to- 84, in NY state., so that tracking system., is the $$$$ yes that tracking system is worth a lot of money., good luck and keep up the good work., N.Y STATE.,
Dang you're gonna need a machete to get through that. definitely right with the pulley and seeing how much space was up there on the 2nd floor. Love Mike's shirt he should've wore that to the slaughter house lol
Nice barn. Functional nothing fancy but more than adequate. That pulley system is quite elegant. You realize there are 2-3 generations alive today that haven't got a clue of what a barn on a "family" farm looks like!

Great old barn. And as usual great pics. Totally not a let down and appreciate all the effort.

Empty, but not disappointing! Thought it was a home run! Great explore and the design was pretty cool. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to share! Thumbs up as always!
Thanks man
Helping Mike down. Great memories of a cow & calf in an old barn full of chickens . Love fresh milk, butter & eggs .
I agree with you, that door was awesome! It would of been my favorite too. But good job Mike! More Mike cam action. He did great!
I'll be sure to pass it along.
Just discovered your channel the day before. Glad I stumbled upon it! I do a lot of explorations here in NC, but limit it to just photographs. Great job documenting the past!
I started off doing photography and switched over to video. Thanks so much for watching.
I love old barns and the treestand. Just seeing nature!!! Thanks.
Great Barn in the middle of no where! Great job , no way is it a let down . Love Mikes Shirt also ! Thanks you 2 .
Thanks

Hard to tell with the overgrowth but we couldn't find anything else.
Great job to you both !
Give the fact everything around there is gone the barn is in good shape. Smart move not wanting to get stung. Thanks for the look see.
Letdown? No way brother. Another fine episode my friend. Thank you.
The 📷 photos are beautiful. Frame them & raffle them off.. Good video guys. Aloha
Good idea

Definitely "not" a let down!!! I enjoyed this find and I agree with others about the barn roof, great craftsmanship!!!

Still a winner in my book! Beautiful barn. Still love watching even if it isn't a huge find:)
Thanks Mariah!
Great video. Did you see any remains of a house anywhere?
Not that we could find but the foliage was thick.
I thought it was a cool place to see! Thanks for sharing!
good job, really loved that double door.

Most likely, wish it was still there.

Barbara Lynch I live in a 120 year old house. Dated and needs work but I love it. I sometimes wish the walls could talk.
one day when you least expect it the walls will talk and give a story of a time that was full of prosperity for a better life

Wonder if there's a farmhouse somewhere nearby? A farmer wouldn't leave his animals too far from his watchful eyes.
Didnt see anything around, house most likely is gone.
Wire fence not rebar. Probably had some animals in that pen that liked to jump out.

The upper half of the barn reminds me of a rib cage inside a whale.too bad you couldn't refurbish the picket fence
Sort of looks like a calf barn. not many actual cows could fit in there but calves maybe for "veal".

The wire was hog wire for hog pen's
It makes you wonder why a barn is in the middle of nowhere it didn't look like there was any good road to it I enjoyed the walk thou
