The RE engine is so versatile.
With it they've released a: first person shooter, 3rd person shooter, 3rd person action game, and now a fighter.
All of the games using RE Engine look great and play smooth @ 60fps+. Now if only they'd reboot Onimusha with RE Engine.

Looks like they really improved the AI. Much closer decision making to a semi-experienced player than what they had before
It really used to be just literal cheating and input reading lol. Flash kicks the computer didn't have to charge infinite grabs that killed you etc (super turbo)

@@taylorbee4010 the ai always, ALWAYS, gonan read your imputs. every button you press the ai knows it, they just decide if they attack is blocked, countered or if it is a hit, it all depends of the dificulty you choose. playiong against the ai is the worse thing you can do to lear fighting games. it teachs you very bad habits.
@@davidloya4691 you understand that ai doesn't have to do that right? You can code an ai to only have access to information on the screen. It's entirely possible for the devs to have done that however unlikely it is. Ai doesn't always read inputs either depending on the game there's ones that just press buttons randomly to ones that just look at player position and do buttons and combos accordingly.

@@wizzenberry i don't like this "tekken" style, can't get use to it, the hitting sound weird, not massive, no impact. when the character fall on floor there is no bouncing and impact. the "color splash" & slow-mo are so annoying.
@@German8964 it has frame stops still i dont understand what you mean personally it may just be your preference. Its running at a higher fr and using more samples for mb as well so that may be it? As for the colour bar you can change visual interfacd stuff in the settings its standard for accessibility now days. And you dont tend to bounce when being slammed on the floor lol i think this is more catered for a mature audience it relies on post process alot to convey impact so ita visual not visual, being realistic and video gamey at the same time. A big step up in my opinion over 5 that game was terrible looking

Gameplay seels more than SF III, Alpha 3 and SF II vibes...But graphically it's clearly Street fighter 4 and 5!!!
As an old head, I think they have balanced the graphics of realism with cartoon aesthetics well. While maintaining the feel of what makes Street Fighter the OG classic that it is. This new version game is definitely an instant noteworthy update/upgrade. 👍🏾
I'm an old head as well. Grew up playing SFII at the arcades and I HATE it. I cannot stand the fluorescent color schemes. Looks like Tetris Effect and SFIV had babies. More of an unnecessary distraction IMO.
I'm kind of inbetween you both. I was born in 84 and would love a return to a basic SF2 like game but this seems like a good balance. The game looks nice and a bit flashy but the combat seems to have gotten simpler (I think) without all the V Stuff.

The costumes look like Tumblr reject art. There is no thought put into them. The shapes of the characters are lacking any sort of impact. There's no visual narrative to combat .
Honestly these people should go back and watch the demonstration of Street Fighter 5s design and art.
And then go read up on what the original designers did with Street fighter 2,3 and alpha.

feels like fighting fames are really coming back with ggst, KOFXV, Project L, and now sf6, and thats only covering some of the bigger names

KOFXV is alright but I didn't play GGST more than a day. SF6 doesn't look all that special, either. Most of the comments I've seen are just iterations of "beautiful graphics" and that's about as far from priority for this series as it gets.

The combos that the ai are pulling off is so much more impressive than sfv ai it looks a lot more advanced
Yo when did they fight an AI opponent, I thought these were from the closed alpha. All the creators I’ve been watching, never mentioned fighting AI. Only other players

@@VonsarYT There were definitely some confirms, shimmys, oki setups in here from the CPU. Honestly the way the AI controls the characters reminds me a lot of the Ghost system from Tekken 5. Which basically recorded real player input to be later used by the AI.
I think Daigo is going to dominate this version. It looks like a lot if counters and parrys. He is on another level when he can actually play counter attacks.
2:13 I just noticed... you take Drive chip damage instead of health, but serious vital chip damage if you're out of Drive, like at 17:28

I love the huge amount of options there are now. SFV V-trigger system was an interesting concept but all the character specific systems had the unintended effect of forcing players to stick to a single "optimal" playstyle that was pre-determined at the select streen.
SF6 starts each round by giving both players a nearly full deck of options - which either grow or dwindle based on how well you play. There's a constant interplay between risk and reward.
Yes! A pet peeve of mine for last few SF titles has been the fact I'm selecting part of my tool kit on the character selection screen. I've NEVER liked this approach. I've almost never seen it get used to express diversity or creativity - it is often the case that one choice is identified as optimal across the board or for specific match ups and becomes the de facto set up almost. This is a way better approach across the board

Some thoughts on Ryu: his Donkey Kick is forever ruined. I suppose they will never return it to SF3 glory. Thank God they fixed his forward throw. The one from SFV sucks and feels nothing like what Ryu would do. Mercifully, Ryu no longer has stubby arms. This Ryu, at least right now, actually looks like he is the greatest fighter of this era. I gotta get my hands on him to see how he plays. He has kept some Kage moves which is cool. That damned Dragon punch has no range (nothing new). Finally, the photorealism hurts his fireball; not in terms of impact, but it terms of visual style. Him throwing a haduken almost looks like me throwing one. All that being said, I cannot wait until this game comes out. I also am anxious for them to release a trailer on Ken. I know we are all wondering how he will look and play.
Once Tokido get's ahold of Akuma, people will say Ryu needs buffs again😏.

It seems to be a slower combat system like sf4 with the movement and focus attack system. But it seems they brought a lot of SF 3 elements such as the counters/parry system along with the super meters and theme musics and settings for the selection screens and such. Can’t wait.
The counter and parry systems have nothing to do whatsoever with SF3's mechanics. It might share a name, its not even close to the same thing.
It's much better than KOF15 :)
KOF15 also had a lower budget comparable to FEXL. I still think FEXL actually look better than KOF14, 15, and SF5 all together. They just should have kept the gameplay 3D and kept level 3 supers and added some more universal mechanics and that would have separated it from the rest of these games. But because they reverted back to 2D its just another fighting game lost in the ether.

The SNK competitor to SF was fatal fury/Garou, not KOF in my vision

Yeah to me it feels like they're protected by a magic shield rather than actually physically blocking an attack
I'm glad personally, because it makes it very, very obvious for a smooth-brain like me. Definitely an interesting choice with how grounded everything looks, though.
I think it's a feedback thing, where there's a bunch of flashy moves and paint splashes and hit effects going on, and you want a clear and intuitive, second-nature cue that an attack was blocked without having to think about it. Probably helps readability in all situations.
1:50 was ridiculously hype! Can't wait to play this.

i used to play mortal kombat, street fighter,killer instinct and fatal fury back in the day on the genesis and snes. then came tekken and dead, or alive. the graphics for fighting games got better and better, but the entire genre left me. i fell out of the fighting genre as it just seems to me nothing will ever replace the nostalgic feeling of going up against your cousins and beating their asses. those were the days. this looks like a good game. and im sure the kids of today , well, i dont know what they play , fortnite? COD? but there was just a different vibe when it came to fighting games back then...maybe it was because we had arcades back then....life just seemed way better back then. is it just me?

Not having that stupid stun is already leagues above any.. well just incase it's back, I have multiversus as a backup anyway.. whoever CEO or investor or just general community feedback suggested to remove stun, deserves an applause!
Essentially, I think that they figured with the plethora of new mechanics, it overcomplicated or didn't improve the experience. Drive burnout seems like this game's version of stun.
_EDIT: Apparently if you block a Drive Rush while in Drive burnout and get wall slammed by the impact, you get the old-school stun animation._
@@ryo-kai8587 with those conditions & meter, it's still leagues better than the old one, in old SF's, when your HP is near the stun meter & u get stunned, do something else cause you're basically dead and you're not allowed to interact with the game for the whole combo until you're dead. This mechanic is so palpable, I joined the modding community instead, cause any suggestion is labeled as a whiner or crybaby.
In game design I think it's called uninteractive, atelast I know that much.

@@MangaGamified I mean, stun has been around since SFII so I think it's more of a "it's part of Street Fighter" thing, and they finally took risk of revamping it since they're overhauling so many things for VI.
More decision making and reactive combat shouldn't reduce how viable a game is for esports anyway. This is a much-needed change. It'll be way more interesting to watch than "oop, an attack connected, now he's gonna hit confirm into that one META combo that's objectively best for this situation"

I didn't realize it was 2 ai fighting against each other. The way they whiff and make mistakes, the way they seemingly know how to optimize combos, made it looked like 2 actual human players.
