When I had my 2.3 CG, I ran a Megan Racing cat back, and honestly it sounded awesome but just loud. It had a deep tone and no drone. On my current 3.0 CG, I'm running a Magnaflow cat back with dual mufflers.
Swap it with a h22/h23 auto transmission they bolt right up change your fly wheel an swap the f22/f23 trans solenoid over to the new transmission and your good to go
Def upgrade the sound system in these. I ended up with six 6.5" in my Accord on a lot of power, and a 15" sub in a box that takes up the entire trunk also on decent power. 2 batts and upgraded alternator aswell. I think I still have a distance sound test video on my channel. I should make more actually showing the equipment up close though.
I have the 4 cyl automatic. Am i cooked? 💀 Its my daily driver and im just finishing up maintenance and general repairs. Was thinking of adding a cold air intake first, but idfk man 💀
Hey man love the video I don’t wanna sound dumb but just getting into cars and recently bought a Accord 2000 ex and installed a intake but I wanted to know if mine is a cg6 or a cg2 ? It’s a coupe with the 3.0L v6
I think it should be a cg2 but the easiest way to know is look at the vin. It should have in it chassis code which is cg then the number directly behind is the number so it would say cg2 or cg6
lol my 2000 sedan accord ex 2.3 . Is beat down from the floor up I just threw tint and reupholstered my front seats. I rushed prime and paint job and made it worse that it was before I got it 😂😂😂😂😂 Your accord looks good tho.
Haha if you check out some older videos I built a 94 accord and it was like that. Sanded and painted and it came out decent but it was still slightly better than the faded oe green.
@@252squad5 yes I love my accord it get finicky. It’s almost restored to a brand new oem. Minus the paint and the rims. Also it’s slammed on stock rims with a stable bar in the front struts. Rebuilt engine at 189k, new fuel pump, distributor assembly, and a lot of nick knacks that got replaced. Runs strong I got a clunk noise in the front end and my exhaust manifold needs to be replaced. Other than that it’s just as good as it was when it got rolled out of the factory. Thanks bud I will check out that video.
hello, i just bought one of these and I wanna get into modding. i unfortunately have the auto, should i look into the MT swap or just run it till it blows. currently at 170k miles
Thanks man I got the car today but it needs some work like the transmission fluid and a oil change and a full check up and idk how much there gonna charge me plus the o2 sensor might have gone bad so I have to get that check before I get it inspected because I Live in nj
F23 is the 2.3 liter 4cyl option and the j30 or j series is a 3.0 liter V6 motor. The biggest difference between them besides cylinders is horsepower from factory and the f23 cars came optional with a manual
Okay guys. I'm ole school (51) and I grew up building 60 muscle cars (Chevy's in the 80s) with my dad. So, I don't know much about performance when it comes to "computer cars" but I'm wanting to learn. I have a 2k Accord 3.0 VTEC (autoM). I don't know the lingo CG, F22, etc... I'd like to put a manual in but I'm sure it's more of a headache than that old cars (they're headaches too).. also I've looked on eBay at some turbo setups and there's got to be more to installing one than what I'm reading... Can someone give an ole timer the run down on what I can do to this little V6? Little more HP etc... I should just pull it out and drop a Chevy V8 in lol
I have the 2002 accord coupe with the same 3.0 VTEC. Mine has a cold air intake, headers, custom exhaust with a high flow cat and 2.5 inch cat-back. This really woke up the car and made it sound nice, you probably wont like it as much as the sound of some older v8s (i like the way they sound better too). But these mods were definitely worth it in my opinion if all you want is just a little more power. You could even get it tuned which would really free up the power that those mods allow you to have. As for forced induction, i don't know how much boost the engine could handle with stock internals so unless you are willing to spend quite a bit of money, I'd stay away from potentially blowing up the motor and probably the transmission also. But if you really want even more power, there are probably some motor swap options that could handle more boost and that have better aftermarket support for engine internals which is what i plan to do in the future hopefully with a similar engine that is just bigger like the j32 or j35.
😂😂. Guys says he has one of the best sound systems in one of these cars and then says he has Sony Explodes…WTF. Told me you don’t know anything about this shit 🤣🤣

I love this build, I miss my CG6 but the transmission was such a headache to deal with.
mt or at mate?

more cg6 content! getting ready to build mine.
TRUHART coils are amazing, they have camber kits as well for the front and rear. running them for a while with no issues

What’s the difference between f23 and j2?

F23, 2.3 4-cylinder engine, making 150 horsepower. J30, 3.0 V6, making 200 horsepower. 👍

You do not want to boost the 3.0 with stock internals it will blow up

Don’t see much love for the 98 accord these days anymore
No they have definitely fallen away recently. Soon gonna be bringing a lot of content to the channel with them though
