THE STORY OF 909 FESTIVAL
Ever since day one 909 Festival has gone above and beyond to put together a well-balanced musical program. Playing a major part since the early beginnings have been three simple basics; celebrating the pioneers, inviting fresh quality artists and supporting the locals.

The festival pays homage to the iconic Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer that came to define house and techno music as we know it today. We created an online version of the TR-909 drum machine, making it available for everyone with an internet connection on both mobile and desktop.

Speedy J always on point. He doesn't need to throw his hands up to get the crowd started. No Tomorrowland De Witte trance/techno. The crowd also look like party veterans, they know whats up. Almost no phone, flag, goofy outfit in sight. Everyone appreciating the music being delivered.
I totally agree with you on this Tomorrowland/de Witte point. I really hate this "look at me, I am amazing, I am the DJ" persona. The music is what is amazing, not you.

It's cool seeing generation X that grew up in the 90's, now in their 50's and 60's, keeps on loving techno and even going to raves like this. Once a techno head, always a techno head!
909 is such a great festival. A somewhat older crowd just there to enjoy the music.
