Dragon Ball is one of the most popular anime series of all time and it’s not hard to see why. The show not only has some of the greatest fight scenes ever animated but it also has a rich lore that spans decades. The history of Dragon Ball includes ancient demons, galactic space battles, post apocalyptic wastelands and more than a few tournaments. The history is usually revealed to us as it is to characters like Goku. While that works well for the story, it can provide some confusion about Dragon Ball’s timeline.
The show usually focuses more on the conflicts of the present than it does on the conflicts of the far past. This can leave us with a lot of questions about Dragon Ball’s ancient history. For example, this is a world with futuristic tech and dinosaurs at the same time. How can you compare a timeline like that to one like our’s?
That’s not even mentioning the alternate timelines. As Dragon Ball Z’s Future Trunks proved, time travel can create completely separate timelines that don’t necessarily adhere to logic. Then there are the non-canonical stories that may be interesting on their own but don’t fit in well with the pre-established history. These videogames and spin-offs take us to different futures that some might consider to be valid timelines in the Dragon Ball continuity.

There's a couple of differences between the magical elements of the Dragon Ball universe and the ever-present Ki.
Magic does exist within the Dragon Ball universe, although it's not as prevalent as one would expect.There have been people shown from almost every core race in the franchise to be capable of utilizing magical powers, there are only certain people who actually use those powers.
Magic in Dragon Ball has always appeared more varied. It doesn't seem to possess the same limits as Ki, as true magic is rarely seen to have as much of a physical effect on the user as Ki can.But Magic has been shown being countered by people with large amounts of Ki.
Certain characters from the various races that inhabit the Dragon Ball universe are all shown using magical abilities like Namakeians, Babidi, Majin Buu, Angels, Kais and the Gods of Destruction.
Demons such as Dabura or Towa have access to dark magic abilities and Some humans are shown be trained in magical abilities, such as Fortuneteller Baba,other Earthly beings such as Puar and Oolong are also capable of limited magical abilities, such as shape-shifting.

In the earlier episodes of DBS Vegeta has a flashback of when Beerus visited planet Vegeta and bet up his dad while he was hiding behind a boulder but in DBS Broly it showed us planet Vegeta was Destroyed while he was still in his life pod
He wasn't in life pod but other planet. Beerus thing happens before that.
i thought he was 23 at the start of Z
i recently started watching it thru again. theres a scene where krillin and goka talk about being 12 and 13 .. or 11 and 12, anyway, goku trains with korin then mr popo and kami a bit after then on his own for 3 and a half years (until next WMAT) so that makes him 16/17 at the most. unless i missed something. then i thought goku be in his early 20's at start of Z. considering gohans age.

I think maybe the '5 minutes' represent the Namek planet's 5 minutes , because the Namek planet had only day ,also namekians are plant type that's because they needs lots of sunlight, maybe the planet had slow rotation ,so the time is slow compare to the earth , so that's makes sense....

The end of Z (Goku flying off with Uub to train him) is 10 years after the death of Kid Buu. Then DBGT starts 5 years later when Goku comes home from training/living with Uub.

15:20 it is stated in a throw away line that yes Dr.Briefs, Bulma's dad did indeed reintroduce the dinosaurs into the world.

Bardock’s flashback in DBZ is more canon than the reinvented version in DBS: Broly. Though Gine, the mother of Goku, was my highlight of this new version. Yet many fans are hoping for our hero would one day meet his Saiyan parents in future arcs. And I am hoping for that too!

The original was more fitting and made sense cos the things he saw happened. I wouldn’t really call it a fight since he got owned by Frieza by 1 blast

@@idkman5145 in the original story, frieza hadn't ordered all saiyans to go back, instead any saiyans that were off planet, like Bardock's crew, he sent fighters after them. Except raditz, vegeta and nappa (raditz and vegeta were together in 1 planet and nappa in another). Then, hours after, blew up the planet. Bardock wasn't fighting his warriors in space, more like at the edge of the atmosphere (also saiyans back then could stay in space for a while, definitely not survive in there tho, which is why goku was so worried about not finding a spaceship). Toriyama had made that story canon, before creating dragonball minus and broly.
@@christopherbull7856 they both so up to Goku facing frieza(unless you count xenoverse, were he sees Goku ssj blue vs golden frieza, which I see as a plot hole considering the main time-line and trunks's hadn't split yet)
I hope Toriyama and his successor Toyotarou does make fan favorite Gohan more prominent/relevant as he was meant to be in the future arcs!

But if he went to the past at an earlier point than his original trip, then a new time line would split. For example, when cell killed one of the Future Trunks’ and stole his time machine, he came back a year prior to Trunks’ arrival which created another time line.

It's still works for the Tournament of Power for the perspective of the fighters. You also have to factor in that the perspective changes, when another character who isn't fighting talks, not to mention the time inbetween episodes, or the times where they're just talking, which would occur in normal time.
This video had nothing to do with the timeline. It was just random facts, plugs for games, and character ages. He said several things that were incorrect, and dropped well known facts like they were secrets.
Clearly CBR never pay attention to what the characters says for example in super broly Bulma says to goku the reason why she collecting the dragon balls is because she aging and goku is snooker and starts loving and she explains that its no problems for saiyans because they age slower than humans

Since FighterZ is tied in between Universe 6 Saga and Future Trunks, it would be nice to have new addition to the Z Fighters like the Good Android 21 and the anonymous Human Warrior (who’s soul was linked with her, Android 18, Goku and the others since the wave disrupts their powers).

It really depends on how you argue the time chamber. It was stated at one point that you could only spend 2 years inside the chamber before being trapped. Later Toriyama forgot about that and characters spent longer times in there. Goku only spent a small amount of time in there before taking Gohan.
Where has Videl’s best friend Erasa been all this time in Super? She has flirting with Gohan since attempting Orange Star High School. It would of been a unique concept to have a Saiyan with either a love triangle or a polygamy relationship.

Another question to be answered. In DBS Vegeta flashes back to when Beerus steps on King Vegeta's head. He looks like a teen by then. In DBS Broly when the planet is destroyed we see Vegeta looking like he's 6 - 8 yrs old!

The super speed was right the reason of the tournament of power lasted that long is because of goku taking breaks and the amount of different fighters that had fights so a hour was accurate but goku was just fighting frezia

A very simple explanation for Frieza's 5 minute warning that nobody else seems to have thought of is that a minute of time means something else to him than the 60 seconds that we have on Earth. Frieza isn't from Earth, so 5 minutes for him might be 30 minutes for us. Same name, different measurement of time.

Gee I wonder what Akira Toriyama would start thinking if he saw Back to the Future or read A Sound of Thunder. Because the generally accepted law of time travel is that if you change something in the past then the future (or present) you know will cease to exist in some way. So in other words, Trunks timeline should have been erased the moment he gave Goku the medicine for the heart virus.

I still think GT could fit into the timeline (I know, I know, let me explain, lets not go full online abuse because its online just yet). yes GT does not fit AT THE MOMENT, but consider this, there is a big gap between Super and the end of Z and GT is set a big gap after the end of the Z, in theory, a lot of shit can go down in these gaps that could make it all work (maybe a few retcons here and there, but its dragon ball, we're used to that). Also consider this, they made Broly a canon character after being only a movie character, they can do the same for GT or at least SSJ4, Baby, maybe the shadow dragons, you know the better parts of GT.
