First up was Aberdeen Football Club. In my eyes, the third biggest club in Scotland. Their classic old stadium, Pittodrie is in need of some TLC. Instead of repair their current ground, it's more cost effective for Aberdeen FC to move to a new stadium outside of town. The next Arsenal?
After Aberdeen I headed off to Banks O' Dee F.C and Cove Rangers FC. Two great clubs unknown to most outside of Aberdeen.

It’s Aberdeen granite from the old Rubislaw quarry (closed in 1971) - the largest man made hole in Europe. Aberdeen granite was considered the best in the world and transported all over the world. Lots of buildings in London have some. The balustrades on Waterloo Bridge for example, are all Aberdeen granite @Footy Adventures

We need a strong Aberdeen for Scottish football. Great video @Footy Adventures. I agree it will be really sad when Aberdeen leave Pittodrie for their new stadium. Pittodrie has a lot of character and history. The granite facade and wall is something else and really unique. It should be kept and utilised in some way if and when Aberdeen move stadiums. 'Todders' has been a great home for the Dons over the years. So many great memories. It's the ground where the 'Dugout' was invented, the first all seated, all covered stadium. We've seen titles won on home soil and clinched the European Super Cup at home.
Time has come though to move on. The initial design of the proposed new stadium, for me was underwhelming. With the potential of a new site, i hope they redesign. I'd like to see them consider underground parking for example. I'd like to see the frontage look more traditional, incorporate granite or a granite look to the main stand, even if the rest of the stadium is to look modern. I think trying to maintain a certain look of tradition could be a winning idea. We could end up with a bang up to date stadium which preserves the past.
