For me the problem was the small plug that goes into the module, I fitted both new glow plugs and BERU relay with no success, later I discovered that the connecting wire can “melt” overtime, replaced it and all my issues finally gone. P.s it is very easy to replace :)
@shanefiftyfive www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174092744939 look for this wire connecting the module, it is very easy to replace and if your car has troubles starting after glow plug replacement and the module replacement, then this wire is most likely the culprit.

Hi Modrix. I have N47 e84 and bought the BERU GSE106 control unit - hoping to not have to replace the original Bosch GLP5 plugs. But I read "Caution! A mixed installation between the manufacturers Beru and Bosch is not permitted". Therefore do I now need to buy and fit new plugs as well?? - if so, I was considering the DENSO DG-613 because they are only £11 each. Is that OK ? or will the Beru relay work just fine with the old Bosch plugs ?? thanks
I fixed mine but it was very difficult to get the solder to stick on those pads even when i dremeled them to copper. Need to have very powerful iron. Tried to use my T12 soldering station, no luck, then used 60w plug in type 220v still would not do it, had to heat up the iron with blow torch.
My glow plug relay wasn't working as all glow plugs had error codes so I got this changed. Now I'm left with 1 error code 494A, any idea how to clear this?
I have new battery , engine crank but won't start , not even from warm , only push and second gear , and then everything runs fine , i get no errors on dash , i check all fuses and relays on passenger side they all work , i can hear pump run when i put ignition on ,what can be the problem ? bmw e46 320d 150hp
Any wires!!! Those wires are special size for purpose Fuse if you’re glow plug is broken and had short to ground what else you will damage with any wires!!!

If the controller was at fault would all my glow plugs go off I have 4 out of 6 off don't know of it's the glow plugs or the controller
