Ones saying Ireland choked in 1/4s is disrespectful to the Abs who played amazing footy and were better on the night. Don’t get me wrong I was heartbroken but overall better team won. Respect to the Boks they certainly can pull it out of the bag consistently.
All I can say is that the Springboks were complacent to win this match, for those who understand what I mean. I’ve watched that ending 10 times now. The ball was not coming out yet so the ref moves to the other side in order to see it, at which point he is unfortunately on the wrong side and and can’t see the ball when it does come out. Very unfortunate timing. When he blows the whistle De Allende shows him the ball in disbelief but the ref had already made his decision and it was too late for him to revert it even if he at that point realised it was a mistake. The call was made just a second too soon. That ball was out. And considering it was their last chance and they where literally on the line; it’s quite likely they would’ve scored. That was so disappointing. Anyways no one is worried about it now that we won the World Cup. See you next year Ireland !
If you study the SA try frame by frame it is clear that the pass to Kolbe was forward. Additionally, Hansen was taken out off the ball just before the pass was made. He was also taken out off the ball later in the game without any consequences. Earlier, Vandeflier had his hand deliberately stamped on, no penalty. Regarding the final scrum, when the ref starts asking 'where's the ball?' you'd better get it out immediately. The SA scrum half delayed too long. Two sides to every story. It is all a moot point anyway since Ireland failed against NZ.
Just noticed now, the innovation here from The Springboks, pushing wit that early pass out wide to Cheslin at the start. They went all in to Ireland. The respect is there, Ireland is the main target for Test Rugby.
Ireland didn't stun the world champions! 😂 every SA rugby supporter knew we lost this game because of missed kicks! So ..... Pollard came back into the fold! 🇿🇦 However, well done to Ireland. Great game.

It was after this game that I knew the Boks could win the tournament. Why ? Well they went at it in an experimental way ( if you watch the Boks regularly you would know this) as opposed to the pressure game they play in knockout matches and they STILL should have won this game if they had a kicker. We didn't on the day so that is our own fault and we gone punished for that. I wouldn't call it a stun win for Ireland, they were number 1 in the world and were in great form, unbeaten in 10+ games plus Ireland beat south africa before so it wasn't a shock when Ireland won, i fully believed that if there was any time for Ireland to win the world cup was 2023, they were in serious form, unbeaten in their last 10+games going into the tournament and they were world number 1 aswell, but like the previous 3 tournaments, the quarter final was as far as we'd go 😭
Wow safed by the bell for Ireland, thats what you call won by luck, dont think that will ever happen again against these South Africans, what a team that is,just amazing, just to add on.......if they had a good kicker i say no more
I'm not sure why people overplayed Ireland winning this game so much, as though the Boks were outplayed. I actually thought, overall, this was the Boks best performance of the competition. It was a great game of Rugby where both teams were going for it and in the ned, could have gone either way. Ireland were not better than the Boks. at least not the way the media made out. If the Boks went out against England from the get go with this intensity that they showed Ireland, the SF would have been over by half time.
It's hilarious how South Africans go like "Erm, aktchually, this game was very equal and no team was better, just we got unlucky!" but when you talk about their barely scraped-by wins they'll go full defense mode and whine about how the 1 point difference indicates a massive skill gap between the teams or whatever lmao

Lots of strange comments thanking Ireland for this loss, saying it helped them win, what nonsense, SA ultimately got lucky with dubious calls in all 3 knockout games, admittedly Ireland were naive in game/ player management and paid the price, but a number of injuries in the Scotland game really put them on the back foot and still almost got through. Every team needs a bit of luck to win the WC, SA just got more than the rest this time, NZ got there through an easy pool and easy run to the final.
@@rianpp3696 I'm a bit confused as many comments claim SA lost that game on purpose so as to avoid playing NZ in the quarters, Kelim Nel said Libbok and De Klerk were practicing missing penalty kicks in the pre match warm up, so did SA try and win or did they throw the game? Maybe Pollard would have missed a kick, maybe Ireland would have kicked instead of going for the corner. I would have thought SA would really have wanted to beat everybody, better to say they were unbeaten on the way to the WC, but seems it was a stroke of genius from Rassie to lose this one, just doesn't make sense.
Just think SA, if that last maul had gone over you would have scraped a draw against Ireland, thankfully your pack collapsed the maul, knowing that a loss would ensure an easy game against France. You guys really have this WC thing worked out. Jacques and Rassie were geniuses to flash the red light before that try was scored.
Ireland lost to the AB simple because they gave away 4 scrums penalties after been told my the ref so many times. The 4 penalties were kicked. Blame the guy who gave away the 4 penalties. This is what cost them to advance.
Well it was a lot more than that but yes that contributed. Ireland threw the game away in the last 10 minutes. After NZ missed a penalty, play resumes with NZ kicking to Ireland resulting in an immediate unpressured knock on. Back-to-back penalties turn a 1 point lead to a 4 removing the option of a drop goal which means the last few minutes of the game would have looked very different. They choked.

A great test match.

As an Englishman reading some of the comments by Springbok fans... Saying your team needed to lose against Ireland in order to reach the Final is utter disrespect to your team. Either you are champion material or you need an "easier" route. I reckon the Boks are true champs but some SA supporters don't seem to agree...
its just banter...which is done in jest!
Months later, and I can still feel how devastating this loss was! Made me respect the Irish even more though and thank goodness it all worked out for us in the end😅🎉
Absolutely so excited for the summer tests. As an Irish fan always nervous going into these big tests as everyone should be. Gonna be so good.
Stun the world champions is a strong word, at least SA came out on top in the end!

You forgot the pulling the maul down and Aki coming in from the side which should have been a penalty at least
10:44 Bro this commentator is hilarious😂😂😂
What a game. Best team came out on top. Fair play to sa, they put up a good fight 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Just noticed now, the innovation here from The Springboks, pushing wit that early pass out wide to Cheslin at the start. They went all in to Ireland. The respect is there, Ireland is the main target for Test Rugby.

I did think Ireland had some great defence though and looked very clinical, I would not have been surprised to see them in the final. However I would not have been worried as I was pretty sure we had their number.

@@absoluteking95honestly france woulda more of a threat in the final than they were in the qf. To have France build momentum at home n reach the final woulda been their world cup for sure
