- A friend asked me to help him out adding a click to Toto’s Rosanna and since it's pretty tricky to get it right (the tempo does shift slightly), I thought I'd share it.
The tempo of the song does shift slightly from 80 to 86 bpm.
If you find this helpful in any way, don't hesitate to leave a like or a comment!

Just goes to show how much of this song was Jeff Porcaro
Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you for this!!!
That's sweet! Thanks!
That is pretty awesome ... my wee brother says I need a click track big time ... this has just about convinced me ... I was going to get a visual one but I like the wooden touch on this ... cheers
I love you!!!!!!! you are the best!!!! you giving me a lot of time and less headache to fix that
fluctuating tempo
Glad you like it!
so, so, so, usefull...it does helped my way of playing half/time shuffle a lot..
To all the musos who look down on and make jokes about drummers, you’re not laughing now 😂
Their not muso's their just groupies 💥
I apologize for my previous comments this is extremely useful and thank you for doing it when I first commented negatively It was really cuz I was not feeling where the drums need to be in the track this is very useful to put them in the right place, me and the hi-hat part is really on the other side .... 😆
No problem mate. Glad you find it usefull.
These clicks are the proof how tight this band was!
True. But it's not just a straight click placed on top of the music. The click follows the the music and the tempo does vary over the course of the tune, from 82 to 86 bpm.
Very cool my man!! Thanks!! :)
You're welcome!
My hero!
Glad you like it! :)
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Awesome! that's very useful
Glad you like it!
Great, thanks
Thanks, Excellent work
Do you have the Click track alone?
Many thanks!
Just the click and nothing else?
Nikko Harrison if you have the audio files separately it would be perfect
@@carlvilma There's a link to the audio file in the description. You can get it there.
Muchas gracias Brother
Nice dude! What program did you use to eliminate the drums?
Hi. There's no program that can do that I'm afraid. A clean no drum version can be found here - ruclips.net/video/XwWqsrMQyfE/видео.html. My contribution is adding a fluid click to the song.
Isso é bom demais!❤
Great job!! Please, share the click file, only the click, if it is possible. Thanks.
Thanks! I'll see what i can do!

Well done . Its hard to insert click to this song. 🙏
Thanks. Yeah, it's pretty tricky but there are functions in Logic that do help.
help! what bpm is it?
It flows. But it's at 86 at its highest and 82 at its lowest. They didn't use a click when they recorded the song so I've created a click that follows the tune.
1:12 is the chorus
How many click x mins?
Hi. 82 to 86
@@nikkoharrison thanks
We could have made a drum cover to it if that click trak was not in it.
There's a link to a no drums no click version in the description. But you'll find playing to it with out a click is close to impossible since the tempo varies and since there are silent breaks. Record to this version, publish with the no-click version.
@@nikkoharrison thanks
a quoi sert le métronome en permanence ??????? a rien
Salut. Cela varie, 82-86
Click really doesn't do a lot of good because everything is really swung..
Sure, it's swung but the click follows the small tempo fluctuations in the song. I think you'll find it's easier to play along to with the click rather than without it.
@@nikkoharrison Playing along with the drumless track is a nice exersize but it's a waste....the track was built from the drums up. The time is built from the drums up.....the click gives a frame of reference but ultimately playing along with Jeff's isolated drums will give better results in long-term improvement than trying to fit in a drum track. Can't learn how to build the foundation of a house by trying to put one under the house that has no foundation..... It's a completely different process
@@neworleansbeats Depends on what you want to achieve. I made the track with a click for recording purposes. If you want to make a cover of the song, use this and then replace the music with a no-click, no-drums version. You'll lock better to the other instruments that way. If you want to practice, playing along with Jeff will be a good start.
@@nikkoharrison Bullshit it's completely wrong..... You playing only one side of the swing it's impossible to get a feel for with that.... Playing straight time there's two sides I'm not going to respond anymore you have no idea what you're talking about
@@neworleansbeats I'm not quite sure what point you're trying to make but the click doesn't interfere with the swing. If the click represents the quarter notes the swing is on the eight note level. The click isn't there to help you swing, that's up to you, it's there to help you keep the tempo and to lock with the other instruments. And please don't come to my channel and call what I'm doing or saying bullshit, that's rude. If you don't like it, you're free to ignore it. Have a good day.
